Ditto everything you said, Kal. Indeed, Evanna Lynch's role is very different from her HP one - but I guess that this is even what she's interested in. True about Taryn tho: she does look more beautiful without the make-up I agree. Has got more of a natural beauty this way. Ahahaha, but your idea about an alternative end of the ep... that's brilliant. ;D I don't know why it didn't cross my mind. Awesome. ;D Yeah, they should have TOTALLY let him say that!!! xD xD xD

I hope Evanna Lynch will have a great career, she seems to be a good actress. And yeah, we all can have a lot of imagination when compare the two shows. ;D here's a few pics of the Alehna and Taryn.

Aw no, that's a shame. Indeed there seems to be a curse on them. So sad really.

It is unfortunate they did not get a second season, however I'm not surprised. By the standards of Sky1, it did not perform, and ended up not living up to the hype it promised to deliver.
I thought the show was fair, could have used some improvements, however I think it deserved a second season to have another chance.
The first season almost felt like two different shows. You had the Akbari/Sinbad half, then the Tiger/Underworld half. The stories came together nicely at the end, however UK bloggers/reviewers (the ones the UK producers listen to) cannot enjoy a progressive story, they must have last ever episode type revelations in the second episode of the show, and so on, or else the story does not move fast enough for them.
And sadly, the audience just wasn't big enough to warrant the show a second chance. Oddly enough, they were supposed to wait to see how the USA run did, however they did not. And now the USA run will happen on Saturday nights over the summer on syfy along with Primeval New World, which got axed after one season, too.
I think the producers of Sinbad 2012 banked too much on Evanna in the finale being their big ticket, instead of looking at the overall picture. And sadly, not enough people seemed to stick with it til the end to care about her spot.
It's a shame it did not get another chance. However, I'm sure a few years from now someone will try again. Hopefully they'll get lucky!

Hum, I guess it wasn't a too big surprise indeed. I don't know which expectations the channel and producers had concerning audience and things, but it would appear that the show had obvious flaws and that it doesn't quite fit in with the current shows, too (considering there's hardly any adventure-show airing these days). Still, it's sad the show didn't get a second season. I think part of the problem about the new adventures was that the scriptwriters and everyone expected to not get one, so they poured all their ideas into this one season - effectively pressing the plot of several seasons into one. I cannot say I blame the producers/scriptwriters but it was one of the things that bothered me and which maybe 'helped' with the downfall. Seriously? But that's sad, because quite in contrast to this, the show moved a little too fast for my liking. It was like we get presented a new plotline in one ep and see its end in the next or the one after that. Oh, and you're right - they didn't even wait for the US broadcasting. It didn't even occur to me till now, but it's true - they cancelled the show before that. Though, I guess it wouldn't have made a difference anyway, knowing it airs on Saturday nights during the summer. That's almost worst than the Friday night death-slot I guess. Maybe. I honestly don't know. Butin all fairness, the last couple of eps were indeed the best ones. It's really sad too few people sticked with the show to see them. They were rather promising in terms of what a second season could have looked like. Oh, I'm sure that sooner or later people will focus on Sinbad again. That legend's been re-invented again and again. It's simply good stuff to work with and eventually someone will try again. Let's just hope that when it happens they'll make something good of it and will have the needed audience, too.

i just collected the remaining episodes -except for the one with .. errr .. those things i hate- and i agree the whole season just lack something,,, some linking or bond! though they everything together in the last episode but it wasn't enough, i mean people waited so much until revelations! *hope i'm not doing the same in my fiction * so they may just give up ,, but again i love how it ended,, with Eleana not being herself and something was free from the dead land,,, something dark seeking Sinbad back to the land where he belonged,,, what attracted my attention the very last word,,, one of the girls -Tiger or Rina- was screaming Sinbad name in horror just after the creature revealed itself to us as he starred to Sinbad,, that made me think of 2 probabilities ... either the creature killed Taryn the first thing as she was the closest *hugging it in shape of her daughter* and that's coz she's the strongest of them by her magical knowledge and powers by which they could use against it,,,,,, or he push Sinbad of the ship edge !!! attacking him directly but still hidden inside innocent Eleana! so no one knows who attacked and will reattack Sinbad -if he get from this first time- so they still oblivious to their enemy... dunno why but i go for choice 1,,, just a feeling creature revealing itself and attack/kill Taryn which shock the crew and let one of them call Sinbad in panic! poor Taryn!! i loved her, and she was just about having new chance of being good! may be a part of crew!!!!!!!! who knows? or friend staying in touch with them and being helpful source of knowledge when needed,,, she told Sinbad she owe him everything! now i'm sad for her,,,,,,, and it 'd be disagreeable if S2 hasn't her,,, surprisingly i'm a bit relieved of no S2 coz i'd be deeply disappointed if she was not there ...... still i'd say -have to admit *sigh* - she get what she deserved after all what she did and so,, after all this killing innocents,, *can't forget Imir of Basra * and aside of Anwar,, she will remain my favorite,,, but *sorry Taryn, Anwar comes first with no opponent * ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

HAHAHAAAAAAAAAAA, my love to Anwar really makes me forget why i come to this thread in the first place ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D well i wanted to tell you that i noticed the lady speaking in the end of the ep saying that the episodes are based on a book series called 'Legends'!! i'm not sure she meant S1 or S2 which won't see light but i googled and as result of a quick check on the series of the short stories i still didn't find anything common with what we watched!!! still may be i didn't look good after the stories summaries or she meant S2!!!!!!!

I see someone here still loves Anwar very much. Awesome. ;D ;D ;D ;D Ooh, but say, ep 10, what was it about again? It's been so long since I watched the show (gosh, can it really be? It must've been a year, 'caus when I watched it I was still practicing for my finals... O.O ), I really can't remember which of the eps was number ten. *scratches head* Oh, but really? She mentioned that they are based on a book series? How interesting! Didn't know that they were. Strange though that the summaries didn't fit with its content. Then maybe yes, it was all about the upcoming S2, or the lady meant only one specific ep or another series altogether?

I see someone here still loves Anwar very much. Awesome. ;D ;D ;D ;D AYEEEEEEEE ME, ME, MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Umm, yup it has some time since we followed the series, but you're right, i can't imagine it being that long! i didn't feel time flying by like this the episode was about the professor and the serpent,,, when she brings an huge egg on board and it crushed to give a monster serpent the crew wanted to abandon the ship but Cook refused so they stayed and fought the monster eh, yeah she did,, i heard it after the final episode as she told to wait for the coming S2, then she mentioned it! i think she didn't mean a specific episode but a whole season, though i'm not sure which one of the two! i searched the book series and found it's 2 parts and each consisting of a group of short stories for different authors!
