In other words.. With everyone's help I shall now attempt to create a version of my character who will fit neatly into the world of AoS..
I know the one restriction atm is no female magic users. There's a couple of things that, at first glance, seem magic based but are more higher technology based all of which can be explained in the history section soo.. bear with me k?
I never really stray from her basic history so let's see what we can do with this shall we?
Character Profile: Khei
Status: Rough Draft
Name: Khei
Age: Unknown. Appears to be around 30.
Race/Species: Kittora (This will be explained further down..)
Height: 5' 6"
Weight: 170 lbs (Though she doesn't look like it)
General Appearance:
* Human: Average and seems to be of Celtic heritage from her abundance of freckles. The odd thing about her freckles is that they seem to form ever so faint stripe like patterns along her jaw line, neck, and arms.
Her shoulder length brown hair, in the right light, shines with a faint teal tint though you can easily shrug it off as your eyes playing tricks on you. Even her lightly tanned skin seems to give off a strange slate grayish tint, again, in just the right light. Her eyes are of the brightest emerald green you ever saw. They also strike you as almost cat like.
* Kittora: At first glance most would run from such a beast. Though still standing at average human height, this is clearly not human. Her fur covered face is human enough in appearance and expression save for a short muzzle and longer, black, Lynx like ears. Her fur color is of a slate gray (grayblue) with darker grayblue muzzle, hands, and stripes where her freckles were. Her shoulder length hair is now teal in color. Emerging from the buttoned flap of her slacks is a slender feline like tail, adorned with the same stripes as the rest of her body and ending in a dark grayblue tuft like that of a lion.
* Clothing:
Her clothes are very foreign to be sure. You'd almost swear that they were Asian in style but not quite. her shirt is of a deep blue color. The sleeves end at her elbows and are well worn. Over that she wears a faded hunter green vest like article. The "vest" look almost like a sleeveless kimono. Her slacks are tan in color and fit slightly loosely. The legs are tucked neatly into her boots which reach just above her ankles. Around her waist lays a belt where you'd expect anyone to be carrying a sword. Khei carries only what seems to be the hilt of a sword with no blade. At the wrist she wears bracers. They appear to be made of leather but have strange symbols or writing on them.
Special Effects: As long as Khei wears her bracers she remains in Human guise but should she loose either of them, her true form would be revealed. (This also tends to be an insanely painful ordeal for her should it happen.)
Accessories: Energy Saber - Though it appears to be nothing more than an ornate sword hilt at first, when needed, a blade of condensed energy will form. (Think along the lines of a lightsaber or Tenchi's sword from Tenchi Muyo) This only works if Khei is handling the saber as she must use her own life energy to power it.
Though her culture had some form of higher technology, foreigners might think it magic as the energy consumed by this higher technology is Leyline or lifeforce energy. Tairachi was covered in streams of this invisible energy and the Kittora developed a way to harness it. Unfortunately, due to the destruction of Tairachi, these Leylines are now gone. As such even Khei's energy saber cannot operate unless she allows it to consume her own life energy. This means that, while Khei can use her saber, she cannot maintain it's blade for extended periods of time. Prolonged use could result in her death from being drained of her life energies. Her energy is replenished in the same way as any other mortal. Sleep and consumption of food.
Special Abilities: Though her entire home world is gone, Khei does retain one ability from her former life. Dreamwalking. A form of fine tuned telepathy for Khei's kind, it's not an often used process as it is extremely dangerous.
The ability to enter the dreams of others is a complicated process. First the dreamwalker must actually know the person who's dream she intends to enter. She cannot enter the dreams of anyone she knows only by name. She would have to have had, at least, brief personal contact with the person. Secondly the person would have to be asleep for her to enter his or her dreams. Thirdly this process leaves the dreamwalker in a very vulnerable position as her body is left in a coma like state. Lastly the belief that dying in a dream will result in the death of your physical body holds VERY true for dreamwalkers. As such dreamwalking is a talent that is reserved as a last resort.
History: Khei originally hails from a distant world called Tairachi. Like many youngsters of her kind, she trained in the arts of astral battle. More out of tradition than any need... Until the War of the Demon's Rising. Khei had been the single kittora who had been able to cross the battlefield and sneak into the Demon Lord's spire. With the Kingstone of Gahlar she was able to defeat the Demon Lord but at a great cost.. all but five Kittora were slain in the process and those five were thrown into far off dimensions by the astral energies released in the blast.
Years later a chaos mage sought to rectify the past and prevent the extermination of Khei's race by gathering the four surviving kittora and sacrificing Khei to Gahlar. His failure in summoning the Gingitsune god caused the resurrection of the Demon Lord, Ewey, and ultimately the complete destruction of Tairachi. Through some unfathomable means, Khei was spared from death and found herself washed up onto a beach where a kindly old mage took her in, nursed her back to health, and gave her the bracers so that she might find a new life in this strange new world.
Personality: Though she's wary of new faces, she can be quite friendly and loyal to those she calls friends. Outwardly she tries to be happy and hard working but deep under everything she carries a heavy burden of guilt. She hasn't once forgotten the fate of her world and her race. And not once as she ever not blamed herself for it.

Okay I think that about does it.. So whaddya all think? I'm open for suggestions and whatnot.
(And don't sweat it I can handle "OMG! This won't do!")
