Harry is... okay. But he´s too much the centre of the story to be my favourite if that makes any sense. And he sometimes has a weird way to treat his friends.

Yes, it is Nili I've always been a MZB geek, by an emotional pov at least, maybe because one of her Darkover books had been my first fantasy novel ever. maeve3000You still have a lot of stories to read. May I suggest you to follow the inner chronological order? (which is different from the one of the novels' pubblication). There is an intersing twist about reincarnation, and in this way you'll have a lot of fun in trying to recognize the characters who will come back in every book.

BUT give me a MZB and I will read it. I LOVE her. the mist I readed two times... many many of it from my way to London to Los Angeles LOOL and then back from los angeles to London... the "little" flights Düsseldorf to London and then Los angeles to Sacramento I hadn't read LOL...

Wow, You have travelled a lot As for me I've read the Avalon books several times, but I have my favourites. I liked a lot "the Forest House", and the first part of "Lady of Avalon" but secondly came right after "The fall of Atlantis" and "Ancestors of Avalon" ;D ;D

I've read the book, a long time ago, but I read it. I also have the book in my room!
I'm a fan of her books, I just haven't read them in a long time.

Funny you guys started talking about MZB today 'cause I'm just about to finish the second tome of her Mists of Avalon trilogy!
And so far, I absolutely love it! I love how she brilliantly depicted the Arthurian myth through the women's point of view, especially that of Morgane La Fée, since she's the character usually regarded as evil in the legend.
I was also very surprised to read about the Celtic pagan religion because I wasn't expecting to find that aspect in the book at all! (I had the books for my birthday and I just began reading them out of courtesy and respect for the person who gave them to me...) Being some sort of Celtic pagan myself, I was very pleased with how she illustrated the cult of the Goddess.

From what I remember it was very well written.
At the time, I was more interested in the Lancelot angle in which she described Lancelot's love for Arthur and then how he transfered it to Guinevere so as to 'fit in' at courts.
But yea, the pagan representation of the story was well written.

Aye! I was also very curious to see how the love triangle Arthur/Guenevere/Lancelot would play out! But I must say that from the moment Guenevere was introduced, she annoyed me to the core. She was simply way too blinded by her fervent religious beliefs! And the whole threesome thing!?! That literally threw me off my chair! Anyway, I'm not done reading it yet, so maybe I'll get a couple more surprises...

*feels like a total dork now 'caus she's never heard about both of them: the book and the author* Oh, I have heard about the TV movie but never read the book nor knew that it existed. So you don't need to feel a dork. Unless you consider me a dork, too. ;D But I only smile or smirk when someone tells that to me. ;D

Actually, the woman behind the man comes from society and has nothing to do with Christian belief. I don't note anywhere in the Bible that said a woman is behind the man. The fact that it always says "man" is due to the fact it was written by a man. The "man" in the Bible means more like person.
