The captain shook his head lightly, before he scratched his chin. The small cut didn´t hurt much, but had been annoying for a moment. The feel of smooth skin instead of stubble was something he would have to get used to again.“I´ll try not to.” He assured her before looking out at the sea and grasping one of the ropes with a hand. “Aye.” he said. “we´ll be there in less than two hours I think.”

Bryn chuckled. "Good. I need to find Caipra as soon as possible."

That was something he had not expected her to say. Caipra? He hadn´t heard the name for quite a while and still he very well remembered the last time he had met Dim-Dim´s wife. Yes, he remembered that encounter very well… His head turned a little more abruptly as a slight frown formed on his face, but one of confusion and surprise, not one of anger. “I didn´t know you knew Caipra.” he said.

She looked at him. "I don't. Dermott told me of her."

„Hm…“ Sinbad said, the reason for his short reply being that the alternative would have been a question along the lines of ´and what else did you talk about with Dermott?´ or ´however did you get to talk about Caipra?´ He had a few ideas about that and they all led into directions that he felt would hurt digging into. And he was too tired to be willing to dig any further into stuff that hurt. He had had plenty of it those previous days. “So that means at least I wasn´t the only sleepless one tonight.” he said instead, knowing that those words were but a cheap way out.

She smiled. "Yes, you wasn't the only one. But I am a sorceress and can last several days without sleep."

Sinbad grinned. „So can I.“ he joked. “only stupid thing about that is that I don´t look as pretty any more after some time.”

She raised her eyebrows amused. "Pretty? Thank you for saying I am pretty. You look gorgeous, too." She patted his soft cheeks.

He chuckled. Both because she kind of misunderstood his words and because she was seemingly slightly contradicting herself. “Why thanks.” He said when he got patted, raising an eyebrow at that. “I thought you had just stated I don´t really look too great any more with the lack of sleep and all.” He knew he was kind of babbling stupid, trivial stuff, but his brain was not really too capable of much more right now, still fighting with the tiredness. Not before they had reached land and he would have the chance to properly stretch his legs to get back on top.

Bryn looked at him questionably. "No. I said that I can tell that you haven't been sleeping by your eyes. There are tiny purple circles under them. Are you sure you are all right?"

Sinbad hesitated for a very brief moment before he nodded. He was as allright as he could be for now. “Yes.” he then said supporting that with another small smile that slightly reached his eyes. “yes, I´m sure I am.”

Bryn smirked. She didn't really believe him, but what the heck, he is the captain. Instead she just shook her head and turned back to the sea. "Dermott said I need to find Caipra, and she will help me learn to control my powers better, so I am prepared if Rumina attacks."

Her words had a strange effect on the captain, but that didn´t show on the outside. Control her powers better… In the end, he thought, all thoughts somehow ended up at the same point, like a boomerang. He wondered whether that happened on purpose or whether he merely interpreted everything people said like that.
He dimly noticed that Bryn mentioned another name that she did not know from him: Rumina. Sinbad had not thought of her for a while, she was not important as long as she did not once more seek to play her dirty little games with his crew. “We´ve not heard anything of her for more than a year.” he said. “we can never be sure, but I hope it´ll stay that way.”

She turned to him and smiled. "Yes, I hope so, too. But it is best to be prepared. You never know what will pop up."

„True.“ Sinbad said. Bryn didn´t know it, but he was actually referring not only to what she had said but more also to what had happened these last few days. Caipra, the thought. Then Rumina. Looked like the sorceress and the hawk had been ´talking´ through quite a few things during the night and for a moment he wondered whether he had the guts to ask what else had been a topic in their conversation. It was a little strange, he thought, that the two of them would talk about these two all of a sudden, people the captain had never mentioned towards Bryn. Was it the result of him being secretive because of Maeve? He sighed inwardly. Even thinking her name hurt and his hand around the rope tightened unnoticeably.
“Well, that sounds like the two of you having a rather interesting conversation.” he concluded both for himself and for her.
