Sinbad folded the map again after having a last look at it and memorizing details of the shoreline."Sure." he said, before he followed Firouz to the deck. Basra, he thought. He was glad to get back, but there was a bad taste about all of this and something told him it didn´t only have to do with Dermott´s warning.

Firouz smiled, put his arm around Sinbad in a friendly gesture, and walked with Sinbad to the deck. On the way he spotted his magnescope on the table and grabbed it before following Sinbad up the stairs to above.
Once outside he smelled the fresh air. "Ah, what a beautiful smell, don't you think captain?"

"Aye." Sinbad agreed with a smile, taking his stand near the railing for a moment. Letting his gaze wander, he noticed that Rongar had passed on his place at the tiller to one of the younger sailors again and was glad for it. His friend had looked like he needed sleep and seeing that he had gone under deck now soothed the captains bad consciousness about the moor having taken up the captain´s tiller duty.
“Nothing better than the distant smell of friendly land after a long journey.”

Firouz smiled. He liked the cheerful atmosphere the captain had now. He looked into the magnascope. "Looks like it will only be a few more hours time we reach land. Coast looks clear. Weather seems good. A nice calm breeze. Can't get any better than this."

Sinbad smiled inwardly thinking that there would have been a way to improve things and make them better than they were right now, but he shoved off the thought as foolish. There was no reason in ruining a day that started off better than quite some in recent months by mourning over how it was not as good and perfect as it could be. These thoughts did not show on his face and he was almost a little proud with himself for being able to deal with them so easily.
“Yes.” He said walking closer to the railing and narrowing his eyes to be able to make out the coastline properly. “Still we should keep our eyes open today. I don´t feel quite at ease with what Bryn told me about Dermott.” He turned towards the inventor a bit, wondering whether he hadn´t seen him with the magnoscope earlier.

Firouz looked a Sinbad. "Aye. But I am ready if anything happens." He smiled.
He heard the door open and looked who else was up at this hour. He saw that it was Bryn, was surprised to see her, and smiled at her.

Bryn looked up at the sky. 'What a beautiful day', she thought. She smelled the air and nodded her satisfaction. Maybe a little fresh air would help her organize all the information Dermott had given her. Her head was spinning a little. Or maybe she should have a little break. Noticing the captain, she decided maybe a little friendly chat would do the trick. Smiling, she hopped over to Sinbad. "Good morning, dear captain. You are up early."

Sinbad turned his head slightly, keeping his palms propped against the railing. His lips curved into a slight smile. “So are you.” he said. “Slept well, Bryn?” He asked because he really cared. He hadn´t gotten any sleep tonight and there were quite some on board who probably had gotten less than they deserved (Rongar for one). He hoped she wasn´t one of them.

She smiled. "Not really, but I am fine. Thank you for asking." She crossed her arms and looked out at the sea. "Was busy chatting with Dermott." She looked at him. "So, how about you?"

"I´m fine, too." Sinbad replied with a tiny smile, avoiding an ´I didn´t sleep at all´ for now. He didn´t want her to worry for him all the time. She had been concerned for him earlier already and he knew that the knowledge of a sleepless night might add to that.He silently wondered what her conersation with the hawk had been about.

She looked in his eyes and smiled. Then she crossed her arms and turned back to the sea. "Good. Liar, but good."

Sinbad turned a little more towards her, his hands remaining on the railing, his mouth opened slightly. „Liar?” he asked, suppressing a chuckle, not sure whether he was to be amused by the accusation or groan at the likeness of another discussion being likely to come up.

Bryn turned to him, smirked, and chuckled. She shook her head. "Oh, come on, Sinbad. How dumb do you think I am? I can see it in your eyes that you haven't slept at all last night."

He couldn´t help but smirk slightly at that. “I never said I had slept.” He said with half a grin. “I just said I was fine. I´ve felt worse some nights where I did sleep.” And he meant that. He also knew that he would have felt worse, had he gotten to bed for just an hour or two. If there was not much hope for little sleep, it was better not to sleep at all.

She shook her head. "Okay. Just don't fall asleep today. We approaching Basra?"
