Alright, so I'm working on and off on some fanfics (sometimes I spend 10 minutes per day only, so be patient, it's not going to be posted soon), but I have questions I'd like to adress that would really help me think about my stories, especially since I haven't watched many s2 episodes, maybe you could help me with many of these questions. Have your memory set. Ready ? ;D There it goes: - Is there any episode where we see inside the crew's cabins ? If you recall any, do you know which characters and in which episode ? (I'm speaking of the main crew, not the guests characters). - Any way we could know whose cabin is next to who's ? - Allah, Allah ... any episode we see any main cast pray or talk about their religion / say they don't eat or drink certain things ? Also, I recently read some fanfics where Maeve is presented as a christian. However, my guess would be more likely ''pagan''. Any thoughts about that ? (I know, my questions look weird, but they have a purpose in my fics ;D ) - Sinbad, Doubar and Firouz : from Baghdad or Basra ? Is any of these cities their real birthplace, or they moved to either of these cities (that would have been before 1 x 01 Return of Sinbad) ? - REALLY, is there any proof Talia and Sinbad had been a couple or friends with benefits or anything like that ? Do they even say this in the Eye of Kratos episode ? (I guess I missed it because before reading this everywhere on the fandom, it had never even crossed my mind ) - Any episode where the crew meets foreign language(s) ? If so, which one(s) ? That's it for now. It's random, but don't worry, in the end it will all be coherent *lol*

Is there any episode where we see inside the crew's cabins ? If you recall any, do you know which characters and in which episode ? As I remember in "The Passengers" -ep 32, we can see inside Bryn's cabin. It's very short moment and nothing much to be seen except a bed and a table. I think it's because the kiss in the opening and their talk in the cage. But to be honest, I've never thought Sinbad fell in love with her. He just couldn't, do you agree? I think Sinbad and Doubar are from Baghdad, but I'm not sure about Firouz.

Oh, dear. I'd so much love to give you advice, Fire, but I'm afraid none of your questions can be answered decently. *ducks head* But, let's see what I can recall: 1) I for one can't recall an ep where did actually get to have a proper ook inside the crew's cabin's. There *was* however an ep where Sinbad was getting the guys to wake up because something was wrong. In order to do this he entered like a large room where there were bunks like in the youth hostels. The scene implied that the guys actually shared a cabin. If you're interested in that I will try to find out which ep it was. The only thing I recall atm is that it was in S2 but I'm not sure which ep exactly. However. In another S2 ep it's Bryn who finds out about the trouble and calls for Doubar and Sinbad who actually come out of the same cabin which to me indicated they shared one. O.o As the common room was the only cabin though that's been shown I would reckon we have to take it as granted that Rongar, Firouz and Doubar share their quarters. @ban: Wow, did we get to see Bryn's room there? Amazing! I didn't even notice. 2) I wouldn't know of any hint conerning that one I'm afraid. 3) I'm rather sure about that one: No. It's safe to assume though that Sinbad and Doubar are muslims as the script writers had them say "By Allah" or things like that every now and then. But apart from those two we never got to know. With Firouz being a man of science I could imagine he even is an atheist, and Rongar... oh, dear, who knows? As for Maeve: I think the largest part of the fandom agrees with you on her being a Celtic pagan. You could try your history skills on that though and look up whether the Britain/Ireland was already Christian by the time Sinbad sailed the seas (I don't think so but my history knowledge is like non-existing as you know xD ). However, in "Siren's Song" we saw that Poseidon smiled at her in this weird knowing way, so technically there's even the possibility she's believing in the Greek Gods. 3) Hmm... Sinbad and Doubar definitely from Baghdad as it was stated they lived there before Sinbad got lost to the seas for two years. However, I don't think it was ever mentioned they were actually born there, too. Plus since they grew up at DimDim's - who by the time obviously lived in Baghdad - it could be they just happened to end up there by accident. For the rpg however we settled on them being born in Baghdad, too, but there's no answer to that in the show. And as for Firouz: personally I think he moved to Basra and that maybe before he lived in Baghdad. I think Velda mentions that Firouz was the most capable physician that Bagdad has ever known (@all: or am I messing up with things now? I'm in my lunch break and don't have time to look it up now. x) which indicated he must've lived there for quite some time. But again, nothing is certain I'm afraid. 4) No real proof, no. Just the way the two act around each other and I think some of the things Talya said while she and Sinbad where in that cage suggest that they had a fling (or something close to that) in the past. 5) A definite no. All tribes and poeple they happened to come across miraculously enough spoke English, too. ;D Well, I hope I could help you a bit with these answers. I'll gladly check on them after clinics but for now this is all I can say. *haz to hurry up xD *

Argh... it does become a bit of a problem sometimes to be a curious cat... I couldn't help it: had to check on two things I mentioned and yes! 1) Check on "Ali Rashid and the Thieves". When Sinbad find's Rongar's note he goes below deck and wakes the guys who have been sleeping in what looks like... a storage room? Just have a look at it. Should be within the first 10 to 12 minutes of the ep. 2) Velda did in deed say "Baghdad" thus we can take it for granted Firouz lived there! Okay, gotta run now. See ya later guys. ,D

Oh, I'm sorry. I mean ep 10 of season 2. @doubar: yes, it's when the man (what's his name?) went into the cabin at 20:43. I guess it's her own cabin because there was the bed in it. About your curiosity: I had also checked what I told before I post it here. ;D I often say that "The intelligent people are always curious" and my friend say "so sad when not all curious people are intelligent". What type we are?

Hopelessy devoted intelligent and curious people ;D Thank you so much for your info. I knew most of the questions would be interpretative, but it's okay, it means that if there are no real answers, then I can let my imagination work

Hopelessy devoted intelligent and curious people ;D Lol, thank you very much for the compliment, dear. ;D Haha, and I just noticed all the numerous mistakes I made in my post... missing words, missing letters... it's hilarious. One could really tell I was in a hurry. ;D Anyhow. You're most welcome. And yeah, I guess too much was left unanswered. On the other hand it's a good thing really because thus it's up to us fans to create their history. @ban: Looool! Really? Awesome. ;D And well, what did ya say, Horsey and Tiger work well together. Haha, and well... *points at what Fire said* That type obviously. ;D Last but not least: as for the scene. OMG, you're right. I never realized there was a bed in it!! And if you have a closer look... it's the same "cabin" in which the crew gathered in order to decide what to do about Sinbad. And that room is fairly big!!! Wow, Bryn really is lucky there. So much space all for her own. But it must be hers really... there's the table with scrolls and candles on it [wait, scrolls. O.o That must mean she studied the magical arts on the Nomad!!!! I never realized that! Where did she get the scrolls from? Did Sinbad give her some of Maeve's? ], a bed and some sort of jars... in the background. Amazing! Thanx, Ban, for making us notice!!!!!! So, that would it be then: Bryn's cabinLol, the poor thing. Look at the grid in the ceiling... so whenever they're out in a storm her things get wet. Plus, if she's not cautious, the guys can watch her without her knowing... Oooh, and I actually noticed something: In the ep where we get to see the guys' quarter Bryn emerges from a door that leads to them! So either her cabin is right next to the boys' one or there's a corridor that leads further into the ship because Sinbad did just come from upstairs into the guys' quarters (which again is weird because I thought the Nomad had only one entrance and that this one lead to the galley O.o ). And, this is where the guys obviously sleep. Real gentlemen they are then, leaving that big nice chamber to Bryn alone... ;D Oh, and yes, a grid again. x) Oh, and the door Bryn emerged from is situated next to Doubar's bunk if I'm not mistaken (it's not in the shot anymore therefore)... ooohh, sh*t... gives me ideas for an oh so shippy fic... must resist... got loads of work to do... argh! xD

Hmmm ... weird that the captain wouldn't have his own cabin. That changes everything But guys, I made some reaserches and ... *chuckles* And the answer about the rooms' disposition is : there can't be any answer, for they're all the same ! The guest room / Bryn’s room :Is actually next to the stairs, as we can see the railing behind Firouz and Rongar (at our left) after they knocked on Alana's cabin door. So, logically, behind them is the galley. There Alana opens the door (stairs are at our Right). Notice the squared ''window'' (grid) which provides light, above her. It's the same for these guys' room in the Siren's Song. Sinbad exits the cabin in the Siren's Song episode. Notice the stairs’ railing on our Right, which confirms this is the same room as Alana's. Until now, it makes sense, it could be the guest room. But wait ... it also looks like Bryn’s ! Maeve’s room / The galley In Masked Marauders, Maeve is in her cabin conjuring to talk to DimDim. The guys stand in the doorway. Notice the grid behind them, they are logically opposite to the stairs. She sleeps in a hammock ! Alright, now look at the decor, the wooden colums, the ‘’windows’’ behind the guys. Now look here in The Siren’s Song, Firouz is working in the galley. Does the room look any familiar ? Sinbad and Doubar’s room / The galleyThat grid again ! And look on the wall, we see many maps, and a desk. Same room as the galley in The Prince who wasn’t. So, ladies and gentlemen, we can’t resolve this issue ! *lol* Oh, and last but not least, this I’m really happy I found. Why would they need so many carpets, hmmm ? Oh wait, they’re muslims. Praying carpets, maybe ? ;D Ok enough I have to get back to work ;D ;D ;D

*lies on the floor laughing* OMG!!!! Right! They sure had built only one or two rooms for shooting and just re-decorated it according to what they needed for the ep. That's priceless!!!! ;D ;D Fire, you're a GENIUS for finding that one out!!! I had the feeling something was familiar about the room the guys slept in, but I just couldn't put my finger on it. Awesome work there!!!!! *applauds* Oooh, and the carpets... that is amazing!!! I never noticed them before. But totally right!!!! They could so well be praying carpets!!! At least one mystery solved. Yay. ;D Oh, and as for a solution... well, at least Bryn's room makes sense. They could have just turned one of their guest quarters into her cabin. But then it's kinda unfair because Maeve had to sleep in the galley... with the guys... Lol. That is a ship! ;D

Why do I find it hard to picture Sinbad, Bryn,Doubar,Rongar and Firouz all praying.

Hum, guess because it's never really been a topic in the show. And because instead of going all religious, the series focused more on fantasy. This said, I must admit, I, too, somehow have troubles picturing them all praying. However, seeing they were sailors and drank alcohol and everything I guess their religious beliefs were not too rigirous anyway. And as for Bryn: well it was a S1 screen cap + it shows the galley and since I really don't think Maeve to be a muslim, the carpets maybe were there for the whole crew to use.

Exactly. There are other crewmen that we never see, but we can somehow presume of their background being muslim if they were from Baghdad / Basra ... About the time setting : Persia (Irak) became muslim around the middle of the 7th century. Christianism was first brought to Ireland in the 5th century, however, I learned about ''Celtic christianism'', from the 11th century. Meaning either christianism was very marginal before the Middle Ages, either it was like many other polytheist/''pagan'' cultures : people were maybe baptised and all, but they kept practicing what the church would call heresy, superstition, etc. Because it's what people knew, and you can't change beliefs and traditions overnight. You can't expect people to understand theology and doctrines either, while the church itself was still debating about some doctrines, etc. People were not litterate, and didn't read latin. That would most likely make Maeve a pagan, especially if she refers to goddess and other gods and spirits, while never referring to anything linked to ''God'' as a unique god. The same could be said about islam. Let's say AoS happens in the 7th, 8th, 9th century ... When a religion is brought to a new country, new land, you can't expect its population to follow its doctrines immediately, and even if the clergy would say some actions are immoral (ex.: drinking alcohol, eating some type of meat, or even having sex before their wedding), it doesn't mean people obey to those rules. About the carpets : actually, I wondered what was on the opposite side of the galley, because we always see it from the same point of views. I recalled in the Siren's song that we saw the lady appear on the opposite side of the room, and that's when I noticed the rolled carpets on the wall

Sounds reasonable to me, Fire. Yay for awesome history skills. *applauds* ;D Ooh, and that's how you noticed the carpets. Great!

I don't understand how the Nomad is supposed to be divided. Notice the two grids (Bow): There is one also in upper deck near the tillar, because in Little Miss Magic, Doubar enters a weird supplies room and tells Sinbad the ship is damaged. Now, from what we know about the different rooms, that's how the Nomad would be divided : It doesn't work at all. Down the stairs is the galley, with the guest's room, then next to it is the wall with the swords, maps and everything. That would be in the part UNDER THE TILLAR. But if it was the case, where would Maeve's cabin / the galley (picture with Firouz) be ? From the pictures, it looks as if it would be opposite to the stairs, on the other side of the room, because we see the little windows on each side of the staircase. So it would also be UNDER THE TILLAR, too. But I'm not sure it works. But then, where the hell is Sinbad and Doubar's room ? There's a grid, and it looks like the galley. But there are also wooden colums, the same we see in the left part of the galley / Maeve's cabin. I would presume it to be UNDER THE BOW. But from where Firouz is working, the stairs are supposed to be at his right. So that makes it UNDER THE TILLAR as well. And if it was indeed UNDER THE BOW, how the hell could they get to the other side of the ship ? The stairs lead toward the other direction (under the tillar). We only see a wall when we look at the stairs. Potentiel answer : We never really see the other side of the room when the cameras are in the galley. Except in the Siren's song, we see what's left from the stairs. There's a mysterious door behind the mermaid.

A possible answer: its alluded to that Sinbad and Firouz are childhood friends, so my question is did they truly grow up in Baghdad? Firouz knew and greeted DimDim like he was a mentor too in the Return of Sinbad...
4:18 and on...
This gives credence that they did indeed, grow up in Baghdad. Also, before 4:18, at the beginning of the ep, Maeve had to lead Sinbad through the portal on the Isle of Dawn, so he hadn't been to the island before???
