It really makes sense, Rongar. So Firouz would have gone to live in Basra when he thought Sinbad was dead (or even before). But knowing the Caliph has been prince Casib's tutor (and he is not that young compared to Sinbad), it makes sense that young Sinbad / Doubar and Firouz grew up in Baghdad. As for this island, Sinbad did say DimDim had told him about it, it's not indicated on any map, he has to follow his instincts to find it. That would mean after DimDim was banned from the realm, he went to live there ?

As for this island, Sinbad did say DimDim had told him about it, it's not indicated on any map, he has to follow his instincts to find it. That would mean after DimDim was banned from the realm, he went to live there ? Agree with Rongar. That's always how I understood it as well. And I think DimDim did give Sinbad the instructions for a reason. His wife has the gift to foresee certain things after all, so I guess it's no coincidence Sinbad knew how to reach the island. And on how the ship is devided: wow, I guess I never really thought about it because suspected it to make no sense anyway. xD Because whenever we're below deck we just see the galley and one or two other rooms. Alls guests miraculously enough have their own rooms and the Nomad must have a large storage after all since it's a trading ship... but, where's the rest of the crew supposed to live then? All those guys we only get to know when one of them dies? This said, there must be another common room as well where the hammocks of all the 'lower sailors' are. Anyhow. I guess you're right with the mysterious door. We could assume it leads to a corridor or at least the storage room. And actually I found something esle... It seems there is a corridor leading away from the galley and into the direction of the stairs - i.e. to the direction of the bow!!!!! Unfortunately I don't have a nice shot showing this, but the stairs are to Kundalini's right - just around the corner. And their direction equals the direction of the corridor. So yeah, that could at least explain how everything's connected. It doesn't solve the mystery with the grids however, as Bryn's room (and the guest room, too) just don't fit in there. Oh, and something I noticed: actually, I'm not sure whether Doubar was below Sinbad in "Little Miss Magic". It could also be he was just shouting it at the updeck-crew - Sinbad picking it up easily since Doubar's voice is strong. I came to think of that because in no scene can I see a grit at the tiller (although, I know, I know, it should be there).

About the grid near the tillar = I know ! I've never seen one either. But if you watch the scene, Doubar looks as though he made eye contact with Sinbad. We hear people yell on deck, I'm not sure anyone could have heard Doubar that well since the closest grid would be dowstairs, almost at the bow ... hehehe.
The picture you added doesn't look like anything I have seen. I don't recognize the door at all ... The galley is supposed to be at the character's left, because on his right would be the stairs. Unless this door is on the opposite wall ?

Hum, true enough. But it just doesn't make sense since there's no such grit at the tiller... unless... maybe it's enchanted? Only appears when it's needed? Haha! ;D I know. That's because I guess the door had never been there before. But yes, the galley's supposed to be right infront of the character. At his right hand site are the stairs, and behind him there seems to be a corridor that was never there before (or did we just never get to see the room from that angle ). Wait, here's a scene that shows it: www.youtube.com/watch?v=62vvp8OXdGIJust watch the very beginning. We see Bryn leave that guest room and return to the galley.

I think you're right, and it's the other wall. That door I've never seen. The stairs are at her right. And look at the other door, it really looks like the one behind the mermaid in the Siren's song. That would mean there is in fact a corridor leading toward the bow (where we could expect some of the crewmen to have their cabins). Look at 0:25, I think where Rongar stands is actually where the mermaid appeared too. www.youtube.com/watch?v=62vvp8OXdGI

And again, in the galley, we clearly see a grid above their heads. Where would that be ? I thought the ceiling was full. Didn't Maeve sometimes sat there to study magic ? Edit: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cg5IhI9AR3M&feature=relatedFrom 14:00 to 14:10 we see the roof. The longboat is over it, doesn't seem to me as if there could be a grid there. At 16:00 and next, Sinbad and Maeve talk. Maybe the boat is covering the grid, but the ceiling looks full ... But it looks as though there's a grid one above their heads in the galley, right down the stairs (in The Passengers). But we can't see any on upper deck.

HAHA ! No grid on upper deck. And the roof is full ! So why do we see a grid above their heads, in the galley, hmmmmm ? From Isle of Bliss.

Lol! Yes, I bet they weren't expecting that one to happen. ;D Always reminds me of those geeky fans in Galaxy Quest who noticed that there was something wrong with the decks on the space ship. *feels so geeky now, too ;D *

Yes, we are really geeky. Hahaha ! But honestly, it all started as a simple interrogation, then the more you put pictures and the more I found some, it really bothered me how below deck wasn't working. But still, we found some answers and now I can say I will use the info for future fics, lol !

Yay for being geeky then. ;D Haha, and the best ideas and things often originate from seemingly simple questions. And actually, I think it to be awesome that we were able to collect so much info on the ship.

LOL
Actually, back then only the extremely wealthy like the Calief or Omar would have enough money to have such a large ship.
Most merchants had one or two rooms, one for the captain, another for a visitor/guest, or for a female. The rest of the cabinmates had to usually share a large hammock filled chamber towards the lower part of the ship....
