yeah but looked so younger,,, and somehow very innocent or may be naive that sometimes i pity him,,, Firouz always think about the situations surrounding them nothing interrupt him,,, he is so experienced than Anwar, and not at all naive ,, never but always jumped to same conclusions and solutions with Sinbad or Maeve,,,, even sometimes before them,,, and many scenes show his strong hidden personality like in Masked Marauders when told Sinbad with determination "Sinbad,,,, we're leaving''

It could be too weird to fit nicely but then again the first two eps were great so maybe they'll even manage to create a somewhat believable scenario there. After all the Brits now really seem to have gotten a knack of making good series.

I mean, from the moment on that they decided to create a crew rather than have Sinbad be the sole hero they were bound to have certain characters on board. And according to Television Tropes you can often find a certain team of characters to be used then (which btw I find highly amusing as it's all true with AoS, lol, and at least partly real for the new adventures as well *snickers* )

but in this case yeah i can see your point here,,
however i actually wasn't talking about the nature/type of the chara only but also their personalities as well,,, i mean they are kind of copies especially Rina,,, the Africain girl,,
well there are difference between the witch and Rumina (who was playful but the witch here is very mature and dangerous)
also slight difference between Anwar and Firouz as i told you previously,
and the big man, well i forget his name again, this is big difference really,,, he seems opposite to Doubar in many things,,, he is very secretive and hide a mysterious secret,,, not really open to everyone,, he talk only when needed,,, not so rushing but actually think a lot before act/talk carefully and sometime surrender to certain situations which is not Doubar case at all,, he never surrender except in critical ones and after Sinbad orders ,,,,and so on
but the new guy looks so friendly and lovable too,,, and care for others even if he tries to hide it

On the other hand... *gets silly* There's a fine line between coincidence and fate, right? ;D

That's true indeed. Anwar seems younger in a way, maybe even naive, yeah. He even seems a little overstrained at times, while Firouz hardly ever came up empty as to what to do. So yeah, they're rather different in that aspect. One thing they definitely share though imo: the fact that you cannot help but like them. ^.^

Now as for the others: oh, I definitely see your point. And I guess you're right: if we were to compare the new characters to those known from the AoS fandom, the biggest difference would be found between Gunnar and Doubar. Both are the strongest and - asides from the cook - oldest onboard; and both are blonds but that's it really. I'm really looking forward to seeing Gunnar's mystery revealed though. It seems odd that he didn't want to fight, so I wonder why that is. Anyhow, these are some really neat observations there, dear. Shall be very interesting to see how those characters are going to develop in the future eps.

Hi everyone!

First of all, I've just seen the 3rd episode and, in my opinion, this is a really good episode. The "House of games" may seems weird at first, but it then fits the story very well. (okay, I admit that the twin brothers may be completely useless... ;D).
And we can see that the crew starts getting closer.
I also like the story about the curse, I think it will be interesting to see what will happen in the next episodes.

But me likes the idea of them getting inspired by DL, seeing that I'm the one who said that magic was forbidden in Basra. ;D ;D ;D

well i see your point and Doubar showed me that there are models for creating the characters of the crew already,,, yeah
but actually what i meant wasn't that only but what i said previously here

i can obviously see Rina as a mirror image of Talya,,, i mean it even become clearer in third episode,,, all we can say that she is the project of Talya,, the young Talya begnining
as for the Africain one,,,, well she has nothing in common with Maeve i have to admit ,,, but you can see the scenes and story that gather her with Sinbad just give us flashes of our Maeve/Sinbad story or scenes, but not so clarified as the later till now,,
anyhow who knows we just will keep watching and see the progress of the events and the chara

AW i can see your point,,, but you see i didn't mean the witch character itself,,, but i meant how the actress is playing the role,,, she really is doing it perfectly and i like her acting this role,,,
you see she is really EVIL one
but of course i'm with you,,, i don't like the chara either she is so evil than Rumina herself,,,
and you know what i really belief that Sinbad didn't kill the young man,,, IT WAS HER WHO KILLED HIM BY HER BLACK MAGIC,,, watch the scene again and you 'll see her starring at him strangely like casting a spell or something on him after he fall down ,,, he was already in very weak state due to Sinbad hitting to him,, he couldn't complain nor had the time to tell anyone or defend himself,,, the poor one
in the other hand why she ever go to place like that where she supposed as a witch has no interest in,,, she wasn't knowing Sinbad till this moment,,, so i belief she went particulary for the prince to have a chance to kill him without anyone can suspect or blame her,,, she had evil plans already,,, to return the magic especially the black one to be practiced in Basra and may be to take the throne too, who knows,,, and if Sinbad didn't escape by his own way i belief that she would help him then directly or indirectly to blow up her master anger and convince him to use the dark forces to find him,,, as she tried previously by telling him that she can bring his son back or something like that by the black magic,,,
so what do you think ?

Concerning the idea of forbidding magic in Basra, I thought I had a stupid idea at first. I thought that it would create more problems than anything else in the RPG. But everyone here adopted the idea so...I'm glad.

As for the witch, yes of course the actress is playing her role perfectly, that why we don't like her character. ;D

Whoot whoot, I finally watched ep 3 (as always, huge tankees to you, Kal ) and it was rather good, yes. A lot less weird than I had imagined it to be, though it was still weird. Haha. And the twins were indeed kinda pointless. xD But other than that, I really liked it. It's nice to see how the crew grows closer now, and that Rina almost ran away. Gives it sort of a realistic touch to not have everyone stick with the crew right from the start. And I'm really looking forward to the next ep, the preview looked rather intriguing.

Seriously tho, when Anwar said "Curses don't exist!" ... I had a MAJOR déjà-vu moment. And Rina's little 'betrayal' indeed reminded me a bit of Talya who, although she was friends with the crew, wouldn't have minded taking the Nomad for herself either. xP

This said, dunno really. Sure, I guess it's really just because we are AoS fans and simply cannot help comparing the shows, but there are indeed some interesting similarities (though I'm pretty sure the same will become less and less the more the series progresses and develops).

I'm not exactly an expert on the old films, have only seen a few of the Harrihousen ones, but no, actually I wouldn't know of any other Sinbad film or series for that matter (and I don't think there is any other series apart from AoS and now the new adventures) that featured such a crew (not counting the evil witch of course who indeed has been substantial to many of the old movies). The old films had Sinbad be the sole hero though I think in the later ones at least the ladies involved in the task weren't mere damsels in dístress anymore. Anyway, it can well be there are other series out there which I don't know anything of so you might be right with saying that such a constellation of crew is normal for anything Sinbad related. Still, I guess I will enjoy myself believing that the occassional flashbacks I have when watching these guys aren't just coincidental. ;D ;D

Yeah, she killed the Prince and Sinbad was just unlucky enough to be at the wrong place at the wrong time. That woman has plans of her own and it shall be interesting to see of what sort they are.
