@doubar: I don't always watch all the episodes on the same website, it just depends on where I can find a proper link and quickly.

@kriss: When you watched the episode, was it a "normal" version?
I mean, in all the links I found, there was a guy talking between dialogues, to describe people's actions, as if a blind person was watching the show, you know...that was kind of weird...

Yes, it was normal. I found it on some Polish site with subtitles becuase my dad wanted to watch it, too.

Awwww, just watched ep2. Awesome, I really like it. Although I couldn't help feeling reminded of The Sacrifice at the beginning. Lol! ;D Anyway, love the bird. Haha, and yes, what a loving crew. ;D ;D ;D

Aaaaaaand finally got the 2 episodes and watched them after many trials to download


the show generally is very very good,,, i like it really however i don't think i'll like the third ep for it doesn't seem to be reasonable

Anyway i noticed something in general,,, i don't know guys,, is this series is kinda of INSPIRED of our AOS or is it just me ??!!!!!

i mean guys didn't you notice something strange about the characters ?

Rina ,,,, doesn't she ring a bell ?
the africain girl,, the scientist and even the blond big man !!!
not to mention the evil witch ,,,,,,

the only main chara i can find that is not taken/inspired of AOS is the cook !!!
and of course Sinbad grandmother and mother,, (who looks very mysterious to me -the mother-and for sure had a story behind)

ok here what i found
Anwar El Shibani is inspired from our Firouz
Rina looks seriously to be the very young Talya (think about it,,, her selfishness,, her attack to Anwar when she had no other choice,, her being a thief ..... )
the big blond man is playing here Doubar role,, not of course so open person nor rushing one but still have the experience in sea as Doubar as well as he's playing the role of the strongest one of them
the evil witch,,,,,, well no need to talk about it's so obvious

and finally THE AFRICAIN GIRL -that still hard to imagine but yeah if you focus on her a little - she is playing ........ MAEVE !!!!!!!!!!

i mean she is obviously kind of sorcerer apprentice or something,,, she had this weird box containing some kind of Talisman and can't keep telling Sinbad that he had no idea of what he did,,, than again her relationship with Sinbad at first is going very wrong and she can't keep herself starring at him with known anger from time to time and he knew that and can do nothing,,
then again in the end of second ep,, he was really interested to take back her father dagger while he was endangered by his curse every moment,, and when back in ship he gave it her tenderly and she replied by an appreciative look,,,,, did anyone see that mutual look to each other,,, doesn't that remind you of that look between Sinbad and Maeve just after saving the princess and Firouz told him ''success'' !!!!!!!!

and again don't forget that Maeve character may be wasn't supposed to be that one we all knew and so deeply loved,,, as from Ed Naha interview her name was Nhaim which sounds as Africain !!!!!!!!!!!!!

but with all my respect to the new actress ,,,,,, NO WAY ,,, SORRY BUT NO WAY,,, you won't compete Jacki ,, so sorry

but i have to admit i loved the Imir of Basra ;D ;D ;D
also the witch, and Anwar how is he so innocent and lovable and trust his friends ,,, as well as Sinbad of course -but away from our Sinbad-

No, it's definitely not just you. ;D I have LOADS of flashbacks, too, when I watch that new series. Like I told you, at the beginning of ep2 I seriously thought: "Hey, that looks like the Sacrifice... only better. " xD Nah, really, your thoughts seem very familiar to me and especially when the show hadn't aired yet and we had nothing but a sketchy character info I felt like this constellation of characters seemed somewhat inspired by AoS. Which, and I just have to say it, wouldn't even be a bad thing imo. I must admit though that I didn't yet realize that Gunnar in some way takes over Doubar's role, and that Rina is a bit like a young Talya (though you are SO right with that ). As for the african girl (lol, seems everyone keeps forgetting her name; even in the second ep in the commentary they mainly called her 'the african girl' - poor thing x) ... whoa, I never looked at it that way before, but you're right. There's a faint similarity there, too. O.o

Weell, I honestly don't know whether this is all just coincidence or whether we're indeed right and there is some non-coincidental reference to the show we all love. And I like to think that one of the creators / producers is a fan of AoS as well and with this new series honours the dream we have not yet stopped dreaming. *wishful thinking ^^ *

Ooh, but true, I really like Anwar as well. He's such a lovable character - as is our dear Firouz. ;D

Last but not least as for the third ep: myeah, I, too, am not yet sure what to expect from it. It could be too weird to fit nicely but then again the first two eps were great so maybe they'll even manage to create a somewhat believable scenario there. After all the Brits now really seem to have gotten a knack of making good series.

P.S.: I wonder though... maybe this constellation was bound to exist rather than being inspired by another show. I mean, from the moment on that they decided to create a crew rather than have Sinbad be the sole hero they were bound to have certain characters on board. And according to Television Tropes you can often find a certain team of characters to be used then (which btw I find highly amusing as it's all true with AoS, lol, and at least partly real for the new adventures as well *snickers* )

So maybe there's more coincidence to it than we think. On the other hand... *gets silly* There's a fine line between coincidence and fate, right? ;D
