Thoughts about the story

Sinbad: This seems like a ending point, so do you want to start a new conversation with Doubar (Or maybe pick up on the current one, but I don't see much Doubar can say.) I envision maybe Doubar just patting Sinbad on the back then leaving Sinbad to stare out to the sea a think some more about everything (and her).

Hm, actually I do not see much of an ending point just there, since he´s just opened up a little.
However, if you want to have another conversation, you can just open one and I will have Sinbad join. I´d just have it take place after the convo with Doubar. Since this is a thread where they are just talking and where their actions won´t have possibly grave results for the future, we could do that. I´d just have two threads running, but that´s fine in this situation

No, Firouz is down below and Bryn will not join you until she is finished helping Firouz, which would probably be nighttime. Will Sinbad be at the tiller or down below, that is up to you? But I envision Sinbad being at the tiller or at least on deck while Bryn has a little chat with Sinbad.

The tiller would be fine with me and if you like, we can set it at nighttime, since Sinbad is likely to doubl night shifts and take part in it , too.

Okay, I will just wait for Doubar to respond and finish your chat. Then we could fast-forward to nighttime. By-the-way, have you heard from Rumina? I assume Maeve is busy, but that is okay since it will be a while, maybe a month, till she shows up in the story.

Just wanted to apologize for this rather short and maybe even a bit out-of-character post I made *is referring to the chat between Doubar and Sinbad*. But somehow that inner tubby of mine has grown a bit silent these days. I simply couldn't decide on what Doubar should say and so I chose to give him some of those words I myself would have spoken...

No, it seems alright to be. What I usually do is not to think too much what Bryn or Firouz (in real life Maeve or Sinbad) would do, but just act out what I would do. And yes, I do act a lot like Sinbad and Maeve in real life.

Actually, I like your response, Doubar.

Thanx, Firouz. Well, in general I try to think "well, what would Doubar do in this moment" when writing a post. But this time, like I said, he was quite unwilling to give answers.
And about the real life thing: well, to be true I'm nowhere near Doubar's manners and I do not act or think like him as well. But more than with any other member I can imagine what he would do or say ... most times at least.

Your very welcome, Tubby. What I was meaning, Maeve is my anger and sarcatic side, Sinbad is my humorous side, and Firouz is my scientific side. I sometimes sign to my friends "Captain Tai." As for Bryn, I'm not very much like her but plan to add some of Maeve's and Rumina's character to her. Of course, I should not go to far. If you noticed I kind-of used some expressions Maeve would make when I chatted with Sinbad. And if I have another chat with him, which I hope, I have to control myself from releasing my anger through Bryn. I envisioned Bryn going below with Dermott and to her cabin, slamming the door behind her. She would then have a nice, long talk with featherbrain.

That's a good idea, Firouz. It would grant our little feathered friend a chance to write some lines again.
And yeah, it's good to develop Bryn. And I in deed did notice that in that talk you had with Sinbad she has been a bit different from the show (more open and interested) - but it's still been in character. So as long as she doesn't shout at Sinbad too often or stays mad at him for days (what clearly Meave would do ) I think you'll be fine. After all I guess developing the chars is one major point of a rpg, isn't it? *looks helplessly over to Sinbad of whom she know's has experince with rpgs*

Unfortunately, I chose Bryn to help Firouz so the chat with Dermott may have to wait until nightfall after I have a talk with Sinbad. Of course, if you are near done with your chat, we can fast-forward.

A what's wrong with Bryn being upset with Sinbad for days. She just does not show it like Maeve, but keeps it inside (which actually is what I, in real life, usually do). She will yell at Sinbad, but not to his face.

*thinks about what you said* Well, to say the truth, I didn't see Bryn that way ... staying mad at somebody for me was rather something Maeve would do. Bryn in my eyes was more a person who forgives easily ... but if that's the way you see Bryn then on you go. And, just to make sure: I didn't mean to say she can't be mad at him but rather that I personally feel - and like you already said too - we should try and keep the balance. After all she's not Maeve so yelling at Sinbad or brooding over him for only minor reasons would most likely be a bit out-of-character.

By the way guys, I just want to tell you again that it´s okay to have parallel threads in a sitation like this. We are not ye at a point where we would have to wait for consequences to start another thread. LEt me give you an example: If you can foresee the end of a thread, it´s okay to start a new one before the old one is over.

Situation A:
Sinbad is chatting with someone. the chat can be in depth but no major consequences will come from it. Therefore, I can open a new thread while the old thread till continues.

Situation B:
SInbad is faced wih some horrible sea monster. The result of the encounter are diffcult to foresee therefore I would wait til this thread is finished before I start a new one.

In short: Firouz, you can start a thread where Bryn talks to Maeve and set it to nighttime already, that´s fine.
