As for Teti: Yes, luckily I'm in touch with her. There's no time for daily chats, but every now and again we do keep each other up to date. She's had a bit of a rough year so far but she's being her usual amazing self. She often tells me how much she misses this place and everyone on board so I guess I can happily say 'hello' from her even though currently it is me who owes her a reply.

Oh, I think that this was a great move from your side when you chose Doubar for this task. You wanted to show Sinbad, Maeve and Bryn in this picture and Doubar has a specific relationship to all of them, so it worked wonderfully for him. I can not imagine for example Firouz here, he is also a friend of all, but his relationship to them works on a completely different level.

Two opposite elements which become one.

Awww, you just summed that up perfectly. In fact, this is the entire idea behind "Rise of the Phoenix" - two elements, two souls who become one. :3

And this idea is really excellent.

The funny thing is, during most of this story I merely tried to capture what was there in the show, because the tale was already half-way written before the concept of Doubar and Bryn becoming more than just friends was even introduced to me. Because of that I tried to stick to this kind of chemistry right until the end and considering that in the show these two had such amazing moments and a great chemistry as well, I guess I had it kinda easy.

Oh, so this was not planned at the beginning of the story. It makes it even more amazing and shows us how interesting their relationship was in this TV series even without an intention to make them something like a couple (as we imagine).

I like the comment of Maeve about the Sinbad's hair and I fully agree with her. You should return to your old style, Sinbad.

It is a thing on which we definitely agree on.

I like the thought how many friends they gained during their journeys. I sometimes think that even short stories where our heroes would visit some of these friendly islands, not necessarily with an adventure, would be great. For example the island where Velda and Borell live, the island of young Timour, Mylagia, the Lake Isle of Leopold or the island with the "vanishing" village, where their friends Belkor and Cassandra live, the Rongar's island and next...

Ooh, you're definitely right. It's a lovely thought to imagine the crew going back to all those friendly ports and just having a nice time there. It would make for a great series of short-stories, too, I would think. Now if only we all weren't so busy. X.x

Yeah, only a small visit of old friends and having a nice time with them would be great. And it could also show us (in some cases) how people from different islands coped with unpleasant things which they experienced and if they moved on. For example how Scroff lived after the end of the epidemic which caused the brother of the ruler, how Timour coped with his terrifying staying in hell, Baronia from the attack of Kattah's men, how Serendib progressed with her magic, if Eyolf and his men arrived to their homeland safely and many next things...

This scene was important to me to write, because it will, indeed, affect the future of this storyline (at least, it will if I ever get to write the other tales that belong to what is started here ).
Concerning your question about S2: For the largest part I acknowledge it in this story. What is toned down in my personal AoS World though are Sinbad's ... ah... flirtateous adventures. That said, yeah, the adventure from a Gryffin's Tale would have happened but the thing is: these were normal creatures. Wind/Air choosing the body of such on the other hand is anything but that. (I hope that makes sense, if not - do tell me! It sometimes it weird up there in this head of mine. x)

Yes, you created a certain bridge which could be used as a basic for a next story, but it is satisfying as the end as well. And excellent job was done here.

And I also try to tone down this element in my story, I go even deeply and I try to pretend that it never happened, that Sinbad changed differently after Maeve left. That he became a more closed-man, that he was more serious, he did not participate in common pastimes with the crew in ports so much, but he never stopped believe in the return of Maeve, he did not become ruthless and he did not definitely try to flirt with any woman who he met.

Yes, I think that I understand you in this topic, but there certainly is a reason why this element chose this legendary creature, I am right?

I'm happy as a clam that Chiara is so well received. She was just a tool at first, but then I grew to like her so much.

I really admire how you turned her into such an interesting character. I would wish to try it one day as well, create a completely new character that will be important for a story and will be positively received. Despite the fact how much I like bringing old characters back and give them a role in a story.

A tiny question though, just because I'm so terribly curious. Did you remember the shadow from the beginning? And did you already suspect it was Chiara or was it a bit like "oh, right there was this figure. Oh, and that was Chiara already? Cool!"

Oh, I was not suspicious of this connection at all. And when I realized it, it was surprised how cleverly you created and hid this clue into the story. An amazing job, dear Doubar.
