I know we can not get started now since we still lack some characters that are important, but I thought I might start this thread already to just get some general input and also to share some general ideas about the plot. In an rpg like this things usually go like this: you either play along or you have some general outset for a plot and things develop from hat point. I´d suggest the second way here since if we went for one we might be missing quite some potential So here are my ideas. I think the first question we need to answer is: where do we place the plot. Possibilities would be: 1) we place it after season 2. This would mean we need a Bryn or we need to come up with an excuse in game why she is not there. This could be stated with her having left the crew for some reason. It would also mean that we can have several ides to reunite Maeve with the crew, for example: a) they just meet again, by accident b) Maeve is with Master Dim Dim and they meet again since she has more control over her powers now and this would be the point where she could be save again as was stated in "the sacrifice" c) Maeve is somehow separated from the crew at the beginning due to Rumina having something to do with it. 2) We place it after season 1 and therefore write an alternative season 2. I think most people here are fans of season 1 more than they are of season two, so this might be an option. Like this, we would have a nice outset on the baddie side from the beginning. Maeve and Sinbad would never have been separated which puts them into a whole different situation than if we choose possibility 1. Well, this is just some general input for now. I´d like to gather some opinions on this before we go into further detail.

Personally, I prefer option #2. This way, like you said, Maeve is already there, Rumina is already there and we don't need a Bryn character.
Also, I think if we place our plot after season one, we leave room for the character's evolutions a little bit more. The crew has been together for a year now, so we get to explore how strong their bond will grow.
(I think season 2 was more of a regression than an evolution, if you want my opinion...)
Sorry to cut this short but I gotta go!

This is another point that from my p.o.v would be in favour for option two. Rp-ing can really be interesting in that respect and this option offers quite a lot of interesting stuff. On the regression comment. I just noticed that this is indeed a point. SInbad and the crew seemed less than a crew to me in season two in a way where he seemed more separated from them. Season one was the crew which implied Sinbad and Maeve. Seaso two was Sinbad on the one side with loose ties to Bryn and then there was the crew. But lets gather some more opinions

I've no preferences, it would be interesting in both ways: Option #1: Pros: We get to dig in the emotional part, as Sinbad step back from the dark side and tries to reconnect with himself, with Maeve, with the crew and he has to deal with everything he did; on the baddie side, I get to explain where the heck Rumina had been in the last year, and there's the whole "Shady Sister" thing to play out. Could be great. Cons: We do need a Bryn to get over there And it would mean more waiting before starting... and it would surely need more planning. Option #2: Pro: We have a strong background to work on: Sinbad & Maeve banterings, the bonds in the crew, the endless quest for Dim-Dim, the aftermath of the Skull Mountain battle; Cons: Second season was nasty, indeed... but it happened. And somehow it would influence us all into the writing, even if we try to ignore it.

It´s really a difficult thing to decide even though I myself would sway into the direction of option 2 for the reasons that Rumina and Maeve pointed out already. The dark side thing would be an interesting aspect to deal with most definitely as would the evolutionary direction of continuing after season 1. As I see it, it´s two totally different outsets in many, many aspects. Story development, emotional development of characters etc. etc. When trying to break this down for Sinbad it would mean according to the choice we make I play a different character per option. Option 1 Sinbad: darker, more aggressive, less reasonable, more isolated from his friends Option 2 Sinbad: more playful, bordering on cockiness, all in all "lighter" personality with an affinity for verbal banterings Difficult to decide, but I´m slightly favouring option two. On a side note: I just wanted to point out one good thing about season two: leather pants

I like both options and I will be ok with whatever choice you guys decide to follow.
In Option 2 Years ago Merlin & Calvin already developped the idea of an alternate 2 season where Maeve didn’t left the show. If we are going for this, we should try to made up different plots, there surely will be a lot of alternatives, like the evolutionary aspect suggested by Maeve.
But as pointed out by Electra, season 2 introduced elements that would be a pity to ignore.
I like the idea of Rumina’s sister (as long as she has NO romantic relationship with Sinbad), Rongar’s past, the Adventurers, and the most important thing “Mala’s character”, who, in my opinion connected with season 1 with the fact that Doubar had already met Scratch before. (The only thing a don’t like is the alien backstory for the rainbow bracialets).
It could be interesting to see Sinbad taking the initiative, and seeing him searching for Maeve. What if this time is Sinbad who find a way to enter into Dim-Dim and Maeve dimension and bring her back? Is always Maeve who comes back in fanfictions. And of course the after-effects of the dark side thing must be there.

I think it´s possibly this whole alien backstory that I totally disliked about the second season. It was unfitting in a world that held a lot of far better potential into directions of magic, good vs evil and mythology. Other than that, yes, there are some good elements about season two and I agree with most of what you mention there. there are some thoughts I have on this:
- if we go into such a direction of Sinbad having to find Maeve, I would suggest not having this take too long. I think there are good ways of putting the emphasis elsewhere if we do that, because otherwise a lot of good and interesting oportunities of rp developments would be lost. especially pointing out this whole dark side thing, it would be more interesting to rp that if Maeve was around. He would need time to ponder about things and come clear with himself and including her in the process would be more interesting than leaving he out of it since her disappearance caused him turning a more reckless character
- if we go into that directíon, we might want to involve some sort of plotting / scheming on Rumina´s side that carries part of the plot
- a radical idea and not sure if it is approachable, but it would leave us the oportunity to take up on the "good" stuff of season 2: we take over all that, but ignore the alien parts. this way it would just be: SInbad and Bryn both have that sort of a bracelet, full stop. no idea why. yet.
The cons I still see is: - we would need a bryn and I´m not sure about how this would change dynamics possibility: we make up some excuse why Bryn had to leave the crew. this would leave us a chance to start without a Bryn, but would also give us possibilities to include her later. if we find a bryn player at some later point, we could theoretically simply reunite bryn with the crew. However, I would be in favour of a no Bryn / SInbad here
Just some thoughts. Sheesh, now I´m feeling totally torn...

Or while we wait for a Bryn to come over, one of us take over Bryn, too. I can do both the sisters, but if so, don't expect any showdown between the two anytime soon In this way, we could have a Bryn, and keep her marginal until we do find a player (because it will be though. Season two fans seem disappeared from the net.). And I like Daisy's idea of Sinbad finding Maeve this time: we can handle it quickly, just let the Nomad sail not so far from bee and daffodils at the very beginning, Firouz reconnect them to Dinar's words... and, well, stuff will happen. XD I've enough troubles with my season 3 right now All right, I've kind of set my mind on option number #1. And don't worry about scheming from Rumina, my little evil mind is waaaaaaaaay ahead on that one. *_* (and I'm still waiting for MagicalMoonStar to choose the baddie she wants to be )

Yes guys, I also think it's better that Sinbad finds Maeve as soon as possible. Totally agree with Sinbad about the alien plot. We don't need it. It's better to came up with a magical explanation instead. I've read somewhere, I don't remember if in the "Ed Naha's outline" or in some other interview, that people who wears a rainbow bracialets had died, and were brought back to life because their existences were essential for the light forces. So if the bracialet got broken they will die again (Sorry I don't remember the source) We can take this, but insted of the aliens , there will be other people who provide the bracialets. For example some Dijins-creatures like in "one thousand and one night" or a group of wise wizards who live in a magical dimension. (Have you ever watched "the Thief of Bagdad?, There was a sort of Magical city in the clouds there). Mala could be a member of this magic-spiritual community too, considering that she had the power to defeat Scratch and came back to life for a while. Electra, if you are willing to take both sisters, Bryn could leave the crew for a while. For example, after Scratch comment on the "pedigree" she starts quastioning about her past, and she goes away searching for answers. But I woul like to have her back at some point. I think she could be a nice pairing for Dermott, or for Tetsu (because of the rainbow bracialet)

*ponders* There are some really good ideas in motion here I think. Maeve was swaying more towards option 2, as was I in the beginning. Now I think if we make some adjustments, option 1 could be better. I think we should wait for Doubar to give his input and also for Maeve to see if she thinks the ideas we had tonight could be persuading. Magicalmoonstar, I´d like your opinion, too, even though you have not yet decided on a character Okay, let me sum up things at this point: If we go for option one, this would imply: - for now, Bryn does not matter for us (exception: we find a player for her before we start, since I think for starters it woul be better to stick to one character each). We could find an excuse for her to be away from the crew for the time being --> this would cover the lack of a Bryn player for now - we would start of with reuniting Maeve with the crew. Details on that stil need to be discussed --> this would solve the problem of them being separated - we would ignore the alien part and find another explanation for the bracelets. I like Dermott´s idea, but this might be something for a later plot or further on in this one.

Whhaaaa. I've only been away for a day. And still ... Okay guys. I've read all of this and had my own thoughts about it. So, here we go: When I first read the heading I thought: well, season 2 happened. Why leave it out? Then, I read Sinbad's arguments for the season one-version and started to agree with him. Now, about ... ah, don't ask me ... 9 posts later I think: if Maeve'd be okay with the season two thing I as well would vote for it. Season two held many interesting aspects (e.g. Rongar's story, Mala - although the story with Doubar meeting Scratch way before he bacame a sailor had also been told in season 1) of which it'd be a pity to ignore them [gosh, does this sentence make sense at all??? Think my English is leaving me ]. Furthermore we'd have that fascinating situation of Maeve's return and Sinbad's reactions to that. The only problem I see about this is that - at least in my eyes - it would be a bit harder to develop and write the story. The fluffy Disney-style season one had (including the adorable little fights between Maeve and Sinbad ) is much easier to be realized than the "coming from the dark side and having to deal with a relationship that has been lost in the shadows of a year apart"- thing. But that's something Sinbad and Maeve have to decide if you ask me. For the rest of us I think it doesn't really matter as we'll stay the same personalitities. So, if the two of you should agree to take the season two-plot I'd go with what most of you already came up with: 1st) no "aliens are responsible for all this"-stuff. That's been rididculous and has nothing to do with the wonderful ad magical world of AoS. Just how we want to explain the bracelets can as well be decided at a later point. But no aliens. Never! ;P (by the way, for those of you who'd like to know: Here's the interview where Ed Naha explained how the show would have ended. But take a seat while your reading. It's dissapointing. www.imdb.com/title/tt0115086/board/thread/69553895)2nd) Yeah, we'd need a Bryn and since season two fans are hard to be found (and if they exist most times they're Bryn/Sinbad-shippers) this'd be a real problem. So I'd agree with Sinbad and say: find a reason for her to leave and add her at a later point in case we find a player for her. Or, of course, if a Bryn should show up before we have started, keep her in the story. And about the pairing: Aye. Only S/M. Bryn's a friend. I came to like her after I could get myself to forgive the producers for making her Sinbad's new ... whatever she has really been ... but I'll surely not accept her as his girlfriend over here. *apologizes if she's been a bit rough but it shook her whole world when at the age of twelve she had to watch Maeve being replaced by Bryn* 3rd) Aye. Maeve has to come back fast. Where'd be the fun if one of us had nothing to say in our rpg? 4th) If I might suggest this: I personally would like to combine the storyline and past of season two with the humour and crew's friendship of season one. Of course this can't be done int the first few posts. Too much has happened in season 2 to suddenly start with a fluffy fun-style but I'd be glad if our goal was to at least bring back part of the fun season one held. It'd be a pity if we emphasized Sinbad's odyssee through the dark side too much and gave our whole story the somewhat depressing and stern aura of season two. But that's just a personal opinion. I'm part of the crew and wherever the crew goes: I'll follow! Oookay. Did I forget something? If there should be something left I'll add it at a later point of time. ;P

Thanks for your opinion, Doubar And meh, sorry you had to read up on so much Basically, I agree with all the things you said and while reading this I had in mind just what you wrote as a conclusion. If I might suggest this: I personally would like to combine the storyline and past of season two with the humour and crew's friendship of season one. Of course this can't be done int the first few posts. My thoughts exactly after turning stuff over and over in my messed up little mind I think this would be a good way to approach it, if Maeve agrees. If I remember correctly, the cons she stated against the seaso 2 version were mainly the stuff I had in the beginning as well, namely: what about Bryn? and How to quickly bring in Maeve? I think if Maeve could settle for this version too, given the stuff we discussed here (Bryn had to leave and no aliens) this would be great stuff to rp. Also, I already have some ideas in my mind how we could give Maeve a spedy return.

As you know, it would take a lot of convincing to have Maeve agree. She can be so stubborn. hehehe I prefer starting where Season 2 left off. I would be happy to play Bryn. Maybe she could get into a fight with Maeve over Sinbad. However, I have a few questions. How did Bryn appear on the island where Sinbad is washed ashore when Maeve left? Seems a little too perfect. And if Dimdim took Maeve into his dimension, why couldn't Turok or Rumina just go into the dimension and kill her there? Someone came up with the idea that Bryn could be Maeve. Making a few modifications, Dimdim changed Maeve's form to disguise her from Rumina. However, Dimdim's spell backfired and also erased Maeve's memory. Dimdim placed the rainbow bracelet on Maeve (Bryn) so that Sinbad could find her. That explains why Bryn is there and why she has no memory. Sinbad says there was a storm before he got his rainbow bracelet. Well, there was a storm that washed Maeve away. This way we could start out with Bryn, who eventually changes into Maeve after Rumina kills Dimdim. However, Maeve still would not have her memory. Before Rumina kills Dimdim, Bryn starts to act more and more like Maeve. Another person mentioned that Sinbad finds Maeve's diary where she has found a way to find Dimdim. The link is www.fanfiction.net/s/2441360/1/Nothing_is_impossibleEither way, I would like Sinbad to find Maeve by surprise. I like the element of surprise.

*scratches chin* Personally, I have come to a point where I would very much prefer leaving Bryn out of all this, at least for now. There are several reasons that speak against including her I think, one of it being the fact that most people on here are more in favour of Maeve / Sinbad than Bryn. In any case, I would be against any Bryn / Maeve fighting over Sinbad plot since the way I interpret Sinbad as a character would end that fight before it had begun since his decision would be made in the blink of an eye if he had to.
The theory to explain Bryn´s loss of memory with her actually being Maeve sounds interesting, however it does not fit with the story arch that was hinted at by the producers and in season two, namely Bryn being Rumina´s sister. If we bring in a Bryn at some point I think this would be a more interesting aspect to explore. But I agree with you favouring the by accident thing, Firouz. We might also bring in Dim Dim at this point since by the looks of it, she has been with him ever since she got separated from the crew.
