MEGAUPLOAD has been closed by the US and the FBI!!!I'm going to die...  Now I have to find another way to watch american tv shows in Streaming or to download some of them to make my vids... *done* ;D ;D ;D Speaking of vids, All my creations that YT deleted were on Megavideo... Internet is really against me...

Why did Youtube delete your videos ? A few weeks ago there were still full episodes of AoS.

I am so bummed  . Megavideo was my go to source for my TV shows. There's this warning going around on tumblr that "apparently" if some "new megavideo and megaupload" links appear the Feds are using them to track people down. I don't know if this is a rumour, but just in case, be careful to anyone who is tempted to use a megaupload link. |

Fireland: Most of the time, they delete my vids not because of the show, but because of the musics and the songs I use.  @anthea: But we can't even use a megavideo/megaupload link anymore, can we?

Kahlan The SOPA/PIPA strategies are have wierd so far. But it's just a rumour. Links like that are all about the internet these days and some people just click away to their heart's content not being careful.

I was bummed about megavideo being shut down too *boos* On the other side though, since Anthea mentioned SOPA, I do not think this is going to happen. I thought the protest wikipedia and others put up was a good thing and I am someome who is always careful when such things are announced, but I am sometimes rather suprised on how quickly the media (especially the US media) jumps on a panic bandwagon. As I see it, SOPA is another weird idea backed by a few politians, not something that is backed by the majority and if my knowledge serves me right, something needs to pass the Senate, the House and the President´s desk to be approved as a law. 1 and 2 always argue and 3 already announced he´s against it. So I´ll stay rather calm about it. Plus, looking at who backs it, it looks like another "nail on the coffin" as we say here for a party that is desperately trying to vote out the black guy. [/English teacher nerd opinion+ sarcasm] |

I agree. Sometimes the government just really cheeses me off.

Thank you Disgruntled American (Only by birth) ~ Khei It's only a matter of time before I tell the USA to kiss my lily white butt and high-tail it up north. I, for one, am sick and tired of being reemed every moment of my waking existence. Oh and while we're on the subject of Megaupload biting the dust.. Doesn't phase me as I don't use sites like that anymore. While it's not exactly legal I use Utorrent and simply Download torrents here.. torrentz.eu/Only thing I do id I only leach and never seed. Once the download is finished you have to actively click on the seeding file and hit stop. otherwise it's all good. It's a peer to peer system so it can't really be shut down. I get a lot of Anime this way because .. #1 I'm not buying it until I know I'll like it and... #2 I am NOT paying $34 - $40 for a Bluray/DVD combo. I don't have a bluray player nor do I want one. So yeah.. Only reason I haven't bought Spice & Wolf yet.. |

Guys, I'm in such a big shock after reading all these around the web and your posts here.  Anonymous are awsome and they won MY HEART for sure! In such the moments I am pretty proud of people like them! All the sites of Polish government were hacked by them, too because of signing of the agreement with ACTA! |

Imagine what would happen to our little fandom if this became reality... not to mention the impact this would have on all the internet. I must confess that till now I wasn't really sure this was a real issue at all, but the more I get to read about it the more do I feel this really is a threat to our modern ways of communication.
And good bye to Whitney Houston. She was one of those exceptionally talented poeple who you cannot help but admire... and pity. May she rest in peace!  |

Well, I knew about ACTA before but it happened just the same time I was celebrating the lunar new year so I didn't care much. I think it means we should stop using the internet. I don't know why they have to try to do those things. I mean, if they want everything stop being shared on the internet just break the internet. It's very easy. Creating those things isn't much diffirent with take away the internet from our civilization.
About that thing, I don't worry. The human created this, the human will break it down. Nothing is impossible. We will always find out the way. Just believe in what the people are trying to do. The governments just cannot ignore the voice of their people (or at least I hope that).
Over here, sometime we are forbidden to use to Facebook, but we're still using Facebook. The way we use must change few times but we still succeed in finding out the way. My teacher said, it was not that the government could not forbid us totally but they didn't want to forbid us totally. They just made it became more difficult for us to access the Facebook because the normal user cause no harm. But they did it to limit the harm come from the criminal who could use the Facebook for bad purpose.

In Poland we won. The governments signed ACTA but probably it won't be ratified because of the protests. Our prime minister said that they will back to it next year after checking everything again ;D
