I say Sinbad was running around all over the world, assuming he was looking for Maeve or adventure, and did not return to Baghdad or Basra. He may have stopped there once, but I would assume that it would take a good three months to sail from India, around Africa, into the Mediterranean, and to the port of Phoenicia. He simply did not have time to stop-by at Bagdad or Basra. And maybe he did not want to. It would remind him of Maeve. Certainly, the Prince of Baghdad or Omar would ask about Maeve. They both knew her. And maybe Sinbad feared this.

I was just about to write something very similar to what Firouz just wrote. Yep, I´d assume the same. He´d have avoided Basra to avoid being constantly asked about where Maeve had gone.

In a fanfiction, the Prince invited Sinbad and his crew to congratulate them. He asked where Maeve was and, after hearing that she was taken away, decided to share to celebration to honor Maeve. Sinbad was quite disturbed about this. But to make matters worse for him, the Prince asked the crew to share their experiences with Maeve. Firouz and Doubar were proud to talk about Maeve. All Sinbad could say was "Maeve's fireballs would have come in handy."

I've read that fic!!! What's it called again?
And then, to everybody's surprise, Maeve arrives to the party and instead of hugging her, Sinbad gives her a hand shake...

@sinabd/Firouz The explanation for Sinbad's wanderings during season 2 make sense to me. I'd really have like to see/read some missing scenes when Sinabd actually is thinking or searching for Maeve during this period. ;D Ah, and I've just read that fic, but it is interrupted

Interrupted??? Why?
And they rarely show what is going on in someone's mind on TV. But by a few of his actions, you can infer it.
He said "I hope so, Tetsu" at the end of The Return of the Ronin somehow made me think that he was thinking about Maeve after saving all those women.
In The Gryphon's Tale, it almost seemed like he was defending himself against Maeve, who was actually Deanna.
And finally in Hell House, he goes chasing after Maeve.

Agree with Firouz and "Hell House" is the best example. btw talkig about Deanna don't you think that girl is similar to her? It's Weronika Ksiazkiewicz, polish actress

Hmmmm. She looks cute, and she does share some resemblences to Deanna, but she look rather young compared to Deanna. And the face in rather round. Deanna is played by Candice Hillebrand

I'd like to link back to the discussion we were having about Turok's immortality I don't remember in which tread. When he died, we saw a blue energy coming out from his body. I was re-watching "the mauraders" yesterday, and I've noticed that even if he was good, also Dinar's body, when he died into Maeve's arms, faded away into a sort aof glimmering yellow light. I wonder if in AOS world, every magician will die in that way. As if their bodies at a certain point were genetically modified by magic. I did remember that Rumina preserved her father's body (and head ;D), maybe with magic To make a comparison, does anybody remember if this happened to Alana too when she died?

In Dinar, I think his magic was drained from him. His magic was what was keeping him alive. Turok died because when Sinbad chopped his head of, his magic was been drained away. Thus, if Rumina’s powers in drained from her, then she will die.
Alana fell into acid and died.

To meit seems like the stronger they get, the more does the magic affect their bodies. It can keep them alive, but also kill them if being drained from them. Yeah, hasn't been a nice way of dying. *pats her inner Doubar's back in sympathy*

@doubar, so the stronger they get the more the magic affect their bodies and how it helps or hinders them in life and death?

Mala: . Well at least that's how I'd imagine it to be. Well, possibilities would be: Magic can keep them alive and elongate their life as sort of an life essence. On the other hand again, if being drained from them (like Rumina started to do in Ep 3 or "Double Trouble" - trying to get rid of Maeve therewith) it can kill them. And since Dinar did not simply dy but vanish, I assumed that the older and more skilled a magician gets, the more do they merge with their magic. *shrugs*
