The next piece of my story. The meeting between these two is a little longer so there is the first part of it:
When they arrived to the other side of the room, there was silence for a short moment. It was such the unusual situation for both of them. Each of them felt that this situation changed their previews of their relationship completely. They felt some time before that their feelings towards the other are deeper than they want to admit but they did not speak about it. More inhibitions were on the side of Firouz, who has not thought about the settlement so far, he still planed to continue with sailing for a few next years and he would not wish a woman waiting for him many miles by him for longer periods. He admired Velda due to many of her qualities, he liked her knowledge of science and medicine, her kindness and willingness to help everyone around her, her sense of humor and he sometimes realized her beauty as well, but he always felt a little ashamed when this idea came to his mind, he considered it to be a little inappropriate. But now in this room he was feeling that he does not want to pretend something before her, himself or before somebody else anymore. He admitted himself during the last hours that the mistake was only the fact that he did not say her something earlier, he realized that he did not have to get another chance. This experience helps him to clarify his feelings definitely, but he was still a little wonky how he should express them to her. He was not sure if she shares some similar feelings. But the truth was that Velda felt the same feelings towards him and even she admitted them herself much earlier. She hesitated to start talk about it as the first person, maybe there played the partial role the advice which she got by her mother in her childhood that the serious relationships should be started by the man or she worried the rejection similarly like Firouz right now.
“Do you remember how much time passed by your last visit, Firouz?” Velda broke the silence as the first person. “It seems to me sometimes that it happened many years ago. In the times when the world was still normal.” “I remember every detail, Velda." He closed his eyes as if he tried to recall this memory as accurately as possible. "I, Rongar and few next men were sent to deliver some goods to a merchant. Sinbad and the rest of the crew were trying in the port a few new men who could become the new members of the crew. They all had the experiences with the sailing; they were recommended to us by your ruler Borell. They hired two new members this day. I did not have much time but i wanted to greet you at least. The most of my group used this time for viewing of goods on the market, but I and Rongar visited you. I told him that I want to acquaint him with one great lady which he knows a little from my narration. It was quite nice afternoon. But it is really difficult to believe that this meeting took place only seven months ago.” “Everything happened so quickly.” said Velda with the sad smile. “There were rumors about few small riots on some islands which were considered to be insignificant. It lasted for a few months. One day, suddenly from the stories about small fights on some islands became the big attack on one big island. And during a few days the next big islands were attacked and it continued faster and faster during the progress of time. Nobody from our island was ready for such a quick entrance of this evil. We did not have enough strength to maintain our city.”
“They had to prepared the ground for this campaign quite a long time. Nobody had the idea that something like this is approaching. I am sorry that we were not on your island for your people during the attack. We did not know that Scroff was already also attacked. I can not express how I am glad that I can talk with you right now. It would be so painful if I found that I do not get the chance to see you again. You know how much I care for you.” He put his hand on her right shoulder. She smiled at him. “I would regret this too. I experienced a lot of bad situations during the last two months. I saw many of my friends and some members of my family die. I thank the God that I still have you. You are one of the strongest points of my life."

It's been a while since I was here, but you have added quite a few new twists and I like it a lot! Rongar is with Maeve and DimDim now, eh? AWESOME...kind of. And Bryn is SO close to the incantation, SWEET! I hope she finds it soon!

The next piece of my story:
Firouz did not know what he should say after these words at first. He regretted that he did not ask Bryn for some advice; he had not any doubts that she would give some tips. He only smiled at Velda and softly touched her second shoulder also. Her smile became happier again and he thought that she looks so gorgeous in this moment. “You can always count with me, Velda.” said after that. He swore himself that he will admit his feelings but although it was strange his great communication abilities started to fail now, he had troubles to say something more. He was silent for a few seconds and he started to talk again a little circuitous route.
“I had the horrifying visions that you could have been killed during the attack on your island, when I saw Borrell there. I have the big imagination, you know it.” He started to realize that his words do not make the big sense but it looked that Velda does not have any problem with it. “I do not want to pretend that it was easy, Firouz. Our island had been under the threat of the destruction for a very long time and a lot of people had been killed. I knew some of them very well. I left the city with the last group; I wanted to care about my patients until the last moment. It was the luck that Bagdad is not so far away by Scroff and that our enemies did not have such big interest about the last survivors from the conquered island. If they had the taste to kill us, they could have killed us easily. I have not any doubts about this.” She stopped smiling again during these memories. “I had such big fear, Firouz. I have never experienced anything more horrible. And when i remember that some of my friends and relatives did not survive this journey...”
She suddenly stopped to talk; it was still too painful for her. She did not cry but she was nor very far to it. Firouz was shaken by this situation and he blamed himself that he turned the conversation this way and he recalled her unpleasant memories. He was not sure what he should do and he again regretted that he did not ask Bryn for help before. But he finally made the decision that he must rely on his own mind in this situation. He took a breath and he hugged Velda tightly. He stroked her hair and he finally told her:
“Please, do not be sad. I do not want to see you sad. You survived it and I think that your bravery certainly helped save the lives of your patients. I know that you lost some people who were important for you and that we all experience the bad times right now. But you are not there alone. I am here for you. I will help you when you need something. I did not say it to you before,” he hesitated for a moment but he continued the firm voice. “but you mean so much for me. You are for me more than only dear friend. I was always feeling that our relationship is deeper. Maybe I would call it...” He started to lose his courage again and he tried to find the appropriate word. But Velda helped him. She raised her head towards him and she smiled at him.
“I think that I know what you mean. Do not be frighten to say it. I feel it the same way.” “It is great, but I think that it is necessary to define our relationship more...” “Please, it is really necessary to define our relationship scientifically?” asked Velda to him in the middle of his considerations. Firouz laughed and he answered. “I guess that the deformation of my profession resounds here. Maybe I should work on it occasionally.” Velda also smiled and kissed him softly. They did not care anymore that they are in the room which is full of people. But it was the truth that these people tried honestly to ignore their talk and give them the feeling remote privacy at least. They were feeling so happy, but after a few minutes they both realized that it is not the best time to reflect on their feelings and they must take care about the next important things. But the happiness inside them nothing could destroy right now.

I am very glad that you like it, i hope that it reminded of the Firouz's character from tv series in some scale. I think that the similar serious situation would force him to reveal his feelings although he would feel a little bashful probably, but Velda helped him also. Thanks for your interest and your nice words, Firouz.

I only have one question: You mentioned Nesthar as the new ruler of Bollnah. Does that mean Zora married him? Because when Rongar left, she took it upon herself to rule the country so unless she stepped down again or married, she would be the rightful Queen of that realm. Only one note he was not intended being the character of Nesthar from the Beast of Dark, i did not realize that the same name was used in the tv series before. Or it could be this character and we can pretend that he was not the bad guy in our Tv series (i would understand his reasons why he wanted to risk lives for getting out of the island, but not with killing of Mutaro)

The next part of my story:
When Matsue arrived with the list of the available materials a few minutes later he found them in the middle of the excited conversation about the possibilities of defence there. They were as the coordinated team, it almost looked that they share their thoughts together, in some cases one of them finished the sentences the second. They did not almost notice Matsue’s arrival at first. He listened to their conversation for a few moments, but he hardly understood the most of their conversation. He coughed and went towards Firouz: “I have the list of our possibilities, Firouz. We used to have better resources for protection, if I remember it correctly.” “Thank you, Matsue.” said Firouz. He studied the items on the list and he confirmed that this list is not very far by his expectation. “The night is almost here. Fortunately, we can work at night as well in a certain scale. Tiresias’s magic is getting weaker but he still holds the fire alive during nights in the whole city. They have also tried a few attacks during nights. A few men will go into the forest to find some useful wood and the first pieces of your materials are gathered in the square. Now, I must join towards others as well.” Matsue bowed slightly and he returned to the door. “I will bring you the plans of my inventions within two or three hours. We need more time for bringing the necessary amount of materials. I would go myself but you know…” Firouz pointed out at his leg with the embarrassed smile. “It is good, Firouz. You know what your captain ordered you.” said Matsue and he left the room.
"Of course, Firouz. I would like look at it. I have heard that you suffered the injury which could affect your life unpleasantly." "But my dear Velda, as the scientist you should know that there exist things which are much.." tried Firouz to postpone this moment, but Velda interrupted him vigorously. "As the doctor, i know very well how important is thoroughly treated the similar injuries. My patients are in the quite good state right now, nobody of them is in the mortal danger, so i have a little time for it. Moreover, I will be still here, in this room, close all of them. If something happened, it is not important where if the outside or here, i can stop your examination quickly. So please, show me your injury, Firouz. If you do not want, i will do it myself." said Velda with the light smile. Firouz only raised his hands in resignation and he pulled up the pant leg of his right leg.
Sinbad and Doubar were among many people who were searching all needed materials. They both saw that the fights damaged this powerful city very much. Many houses were seriously damaged, streets were full of blood, ash and the remnants of the enemy soldiers. The local cemetery was crowded the fallen comrades and there had not been any place for next people for a few days. Casib had to establish new measure: the fallen started being burned at one place, placed near the port. He did it very unwillingly, because he felt that everyone who dies for the protection of the city would deserve something better. But he did not have any other choice.
Sinbad and Doubar spotted a few familiar faces among people in the city. Unfortunately, they did not have any time for greeting them or for some talking. Doubar glimpsed Kalel, the ruler of the island Baronia who tried to gain a few last pieces of the glass from the broken window together with an unknown soldier. Kalel motioned them with his hand but he almost immediately continued with his work. Sinbad had the strong feeling that he had caught the glimpse of his great friend Tetsu passing around them, but when he turned, the man was too far by them for the confirmation. But Sinbad's bracelet shone for a few seconds and he gained the certainty that he was not wrong. Later they had the opportunity to talk for a few moments with their old friend Jared, one of the old Adventurers. They belonged to the same crew many years ago.
They were in the house of the old fisherman who died during one of the attacks and he had his house full of nets and ropes. "Captain Sinbad." said someone behind their backs. They turned and the smiling Jared was standing in the door. "It is great to see you again, the old friend." said Sinbad enthusiastically and Doubar nodded with satisfaction. Doubar hugged him, but Sinbad could not, he had two heavy ropes in his hands. "I was sent by the one of the volunteers who go to the forest for the next wood. We did not simply have enough wood in our houses for your friend and we know about a few nice trees in our forest, slaughtered the spring storms. We have already had enough volunteers for this mission in terms of safety, but this volunteer who knows Doubar a little, offered that we could use his enormous strength for our task. I could only agree with it, i do not know any stronger man. Will you be so nice to us?" said Jared.
Doubar looked at Sinbad at first, after that he nodded. Sinbad offered his presence here as well, but Jared only thanked: "We have enough men for this. We will only load the trees and we can cut them here, in the city. But we must hurry, the night is almost upon us." "Be careful, my brother." said Sinbad and patted him on the shoulder. "You know me, Sinbad. I am always careful." After these words Doubar followed Jared towards the protected edge of the city. "And who is this my old friend, Jared?" asked Doubar during the journey. "I will not spoil your surprise, Doubar.", only said Jared.

Yay, I finally caught up. And, oh my, I LOVE how you wrote Firouz' and Velda's confession of love. That was totally them! So shy, so scientifical, so... just awww. It was so adorable how Firouz didn't know what to say and what to do, and that he wished he had asked Bryn for advice. I think you captured the inventor and the sweet physician brilliantly in these two parts and i twas awesome how the others gave them as much privacy as you can in a crowded room. And as for the third part: wow, once again I bow to you for your realism about it all. Only few go that much into detail with their stories but it's true, with a war as devastating as this one you have to start making mass graves or burn the victims. Now, I must admit I am not certain whether Muslim beliefs allow for fire burials, but it sure is a sensible way to go about things. Prevents plagues and everything, no matter how sad it is and how much, indeed, those who died would have deserved more than this. Aw, but there are Theiresias and Kalel and Jared... my gosh, you really bring back pretty much every one from the show, don't you? That's awesome. And as for Zora's husband: oh, alright! So let's just assume he's a different Nesthar then. After all back in the days people, too, happened to bear the same name. All in all: lovely updates there!

Thank you Doubar, thank for your interest and your nice words.
I am glad that you like how i captured the relationship Firouz/Velda and that you think that they are similar to their characters in the tv series. Yes, there was not simply any lonely place in the city, when everyone is searching the city because of the materials.
I must admit that i am not sure if this religion allows fire burials, but i saw it as the necessary thing to do something with them, there exist a lot of risks and i wanted to show that no people in the city, especially Casib, as the ruler with the responsibility for the whole city, like doing these things but they do not have any different choice.
And i am glad that you like the usage of the next known faces, we will find next two known characters in the group who goes to the forest. I have one question, i thought about the appearence of Talia there as well but i am not sure if it was the good idea, because there would not be much room for some interaction with Sinbad or Doubar, so it could not be used her potential very much (but i have no doubts that she would fight against this evil as well). I would like to know your opinions. And as i promised before, we will meet with Zorah as well.
Again, thanks for your interest. I am pleased by your interest so much.

You're welcome. I enjoy reading your story, even if sometimes it takes me a little while till I can catch up. Indeed I think you captured both Velda and Firouz perfectly, and their relationship really is like I would imagine it. And yeah, I understand well why you made Casib burn the fallen. Like I said, it's one of the safest ways to handle the situation if you do not want to risk a plague adding to your misery. Considering Talya though: now that's a tough one indeed. Because yeah, inmidst this chaos you might have troubles using her to her full potential. She's an awesome character, one of my favs even, and it'd be a real pity if she were but a bystander. In the end though I think you should go for what you feel is right. Does it feel to you like she should be there? Then add her. Do you only consider it because you feel you ought to bring her in as well since you had almost each and everyone else show up? Then let it be. Other than the other characters who were bound to their kingdoms she is a pirate and might just be God knows where in the world. Hey, and there's always still the possiblity of bringer in as the great big surprise and saviour. You know, like Gandalf in the battle of Helm's Deep. When everything looks grim and dark, suddenly Talya arrives with her ship and a whole battalion of men and... sorry, that's my imgagination running free. xP
