To come to some kind of conclusion: I honestly can't say what would have been worse for Sinbad. I am tending a bit towards saying that losing Doubar would have been worse, just because they've spent years together whereas he and Maeve have only known each other for months. So yeah, I'm voting for Doubar, but only by a hair's breadth. Oh, interesting discussion. Why I didn’t see it before. I think I wrote one fic where Sinbad has to choose between Maeve and Doubar, only one of them can be alive and he has to kill the other before the sunset. And Sinbad kills Maeve at the end. Now, I wonder where I saved that fanfic or I deleted it already. 🙄 But I agree with you. In all situations that can lead to that kind of choice I prefer Doubar to be the one who survives not Maeve. manche: I have the same question regarding Dermott. The bird was just disappeared. Actually, I like the idea that you have to kill someone you love in order to survive more than try to kill someone you hate and accidentally kill someone you love in real world. Why? Because if this episode had been made in opposite way we would have known who the captain had to kill and it answers the question Maeve or Doubar who is more important. Hahaa. But even though, I still think Sinbad would have to kill Doubar, but Maeve would have to kill Sinbad.

Something occured me in the relation with thie episode: when Doubar saw "Fortazza" he said "I thought that I killed you ten years ago." Does it mean that Doubar was never completely sure if he really killed the guy? Or he hesitated only because of magic of this place?
