*rolls on the floor laughing* Please, can anyone tell me whether the Cyclops is said to be from "Amblyopia" in the English version as well? Because in ours he is. ;D
Haha, this is so funny. Because amblyopia is a medical term describing that one eye is weaker than the other. If children have a squint or very different sight in both eyes and it's not being treated properly the brain kind of "turns off" one of the eyes which means that the child will never develop a good sight on that one. So when I hard the cyclops, who has only one eye, was thought to be from there... Sorry, maybe it's lame for you, but being in my ophthal rotation this one just cracked me up. ;D

Where would that be ? I'm halfway through the episode and unless I missed it, they didn't give the island or village a name. That would be funny, though ;D
Edit. Yes, Omar did say ''citizens of the land of Amblyopia''. ;D

Sinbad's mad at everyone when he comes back from the beach. Everyone except Maeve. I guess he wanted to take extra care since he just remembered his first love.
Haha, I always thought Sinbad changed his mind about killing Harun when he saw his son, but also his controlling wife. He must have thought it was well deserved he's been castrated by his wife. LOL

It's shortly after they rescue Omar and see the cyclops for the very first time. ;D After the monster has left, Omar and the crew get on their way to the village... and while walking he mentions where the cyclops has come from. Lol! ;D

Sinbad's mad at everyone, except Maeve. I know! That's so sweet, isn't it? And again... their theme is playing. *loves* Lol, yes. I'm sure that in this moment he thought: "uh well, he got sentenced already - for life". ;D

I watched that episode yesterday and wondered about something...
Lea's voice is strikingly sounding like Maeve's! It's almost as if Jackie did the dubbing!!
Anybody else got that impression or is it just me?

Dunno, really. Never watched the ep in English. I must confess though that I somewhat doubt she dubbed the scenes. I mean, they had young actors play Sinbad and Lea - why should they have Jacky dub the little girl who played Lea (unless she had a terrible voice and they couldn't find any other kid to play her).

I know, that's exactly what I told myself! What would be the point in having the little girl act if they dubbed her voice away? Unless, like you said, she had a horrible voice. Lol! ;D
But still, I can't help but think that Jackie did dub the scene! Lea's voice has that strange echoing quality that Little Sinbad's doesn't have. And half her lines are said while she's not even facing the camera, and when we do see her talk, sometimes it feels as if the lips aren't matching the voice!
Arrgh!
But, whatever...

The interesting episode, one of my favourite from this season.
It was good to see Omar again, he was the great character - the powerful ruler, but he did not hesitate to engage in the action or help in the work, it was the shame that this interesting character was removed in the second season with the usage of the silly explanation, it was almost the insult for his character. And his advisors - two big cowards (yeah I know they helped in the work and they fighted for a few moments) and they probably experienced the nice moments after the defeat of the Bully (if Omar fulfilled his promises).
It was interesting to learn something new about our sailor and we had the opportunity to compare his first love with his relationship towards Maeve (Sinbad and Maeve had a few nice moments during this episode, I especially like the scene, when Sinbad was angry at everyone after his return from the beach, with the exception of Maeve, i completetely agree with the comment of Fireland). We could watch a few nice moments between brothers (young Doubar was awesome) and we could not have known how important one of these scenes will be in one episode of season two.
The scene with Rongar in the swamp, it was nice how the whole crew joined their effort to his rescue.
The final resolution of the plot with Harun was interesting, i was not sure if Sinbad changed his mind because of his family or because he realized that has not any sense to blame the mature man for the sins of his youth or because he realized that the next death does not change what happened in the past.
The final killing of the Bully, I did not like this resolution very much. The common attack was fine, but lure him to the swamp, it was too simple. I do not understand how it was possible that he managed to avoid the swamps on the island for the whole time (we heard that the whole insland is full of the swamps). He did not look so clever that he would realize the danger which swamps represent. And if he was so clever why he would blindly followed Sinbad to the swamp right now. And it is interesting that the similar way of the dealing with the villian is also used in the following episode.
And one interesting note: There were used some scenes from the return of Sinbad, were not they? Because i think that during the scene when Sinbad and Firouz browse the map at the beginning of the episode we can see Mustapha in crow's nest for a few seconds. We can speculate that it was the different sailor, but it looked that this character has the same dress.

I honestly didn't pay that much attention to the background when Sinbad and the other characters are in the fore.
But, I think it was simply the writer's once again giving Sinbad the cleverness over the monsters. So what if it lived there for a long time and never got stuck, Sinbad was there and he's much more cleaver than the monster, so the monster was idiotic enough to chase him and get stuck.
