Since I've been away for some time I don't know if this link has already been posted. It's a recent interview with Ed Naha. And since I was uncertain where to post it, I though to open a new tread dedicated to him. Maybe the first post can be updated as soon as we found new stuff about Ed www.mjsimpson.co.uk/interviews/ednahaa.html

OMG, Dermott, this interview is GREAT!!!! I didn't read it before, but absolutely adore it!!! Thank you a thousand times for sharing!!!!! And it's a nice idea indeed to update this first post of yours whenever we find something new.
*snortgiggles* I LOVE the character description in this one: "We have a sort of a Leonardo da Vinci type, an absent-minded inventor, aboard, who invents things but never writes stuff down. So his inventions are lost until someone reinvents them hundreds of years later. He comes up with the hang-glider, he discovers dynamite, sort of a laser beam. But whenever anyone asks him, 'Aren't you going to write this down?' he just points to his head: 'Nah, it's all up here.' "Aya I so loved this about Firouz. ;D Oh, but what I find to be kinda funny... you noticed the difference in names? O.o "we have a character, Nhaim, who's a sorcerer's apprentice."
"And Faruz the scientist points out"Also I frowned at this line here: "Then we have a knife-throwing dwarf whose tongue has been cut out, for reasons that we don't know, initially. "Rongar and a dwarf? o.O The interview sounds like S1 was already filmed, but why those weird things then like different names and ... Rongar being a dwarf? *scratches head* Maybe I just missed on something, but I happened to notice those things. Anyhow, awesome interview and very entertaining to read.

Hehe, entertaining to read for sure. ;D What is a bit weird though is the typos in the actor´s names... Jaclyn? Zen Gessler?

Huh, I didn't even notice the Gessler typo. O.o But right indeed though. A bit weird this all is. Does anyone know if maybe there is a country where Maeve did indeed have another name in the show?

I could be wrong, but I do believe they changed the names to fit the geographical area the show was running/shown on/in.

Well, AoS wouldn't be the first series to do that, which is why I asked.

@sinbad The typos were hilarious ahhah, maybe they were in a hurry when they published the interview and didn’t do a proofreading. ;D @doubar Maeve’s other name is the first thing that caught my eye too. Mmm my guess is that those names were Ed’s first choice for his Sinbad movie, which later became aos’ pilot. I’m just saying because they are referring to Rongar as a dwarf instead of a warrior. The names are quite similar Doubar=Dubar, Just Maeve’s is completely different. Maybe they changed them right after they start shooting. I wonder what AOS would have been if Maeve had been really called Nhaim. To be honest, I like them both. ;D @firouz I’ve wondered the same thing, so I’ve tried to google Jacky + Nhaim, but I’ve found nothing. The interview refers to UK, so I guess they aired the original version which was alredy in English? It’s such a pity that Ed Naha isn’t anymore online chatting with the fandom as he was used to do in the past, It would have been wonderful to have a least more insight about the “behind the scenes”. For example, quoting the other interview Doubar posted in another tread: I’d really like to know more about those 47 outlines >_<;

I knew this already. Many of it is quoted on 2K's world here and there.
Just hypothetically: To what questions to him would like to know the answer, if you had this opportunity?

I would have asked him how would he have merged the two fandoms (fantasy and sci fi) together to make it seem more...what's the word....acceptable(maybe?) to his fans who perferred either one or the other?

@dermott: Yeah, that was my first idea, too. However, as he then spoke about the 200 skeletons they had for an ep (which can only be the last one of S1 as there was no other ep with that many skeleton warriors if I'm not mistaken) I dismissed that idea again. Plus some parts of the interview sounded like they had already shot any scenes, so that kinda irritated me. x) But maybe you're right and the interview was being made at a very early stage - and before the final version and cast (at least regarding Rongar) was clear. OR it was a mere translation problem and they had meant to write "moor" instead of "dwarf". >_> Anyhow. Yes, I like Nhaim, too. Me, too!!!!! >_< The only thing that's existing is the outline of an ep that never got produced. The idea was quite nice actually. www.farfarawaysite.com/sinbad/unprod.htm

@doubar This outline looks really interesting. I'd already read it years ago, just forgotten about it. The presence of the elemental spirits is the best part. I wonder if they are somehow related to the ones who bound Scratch in season 1. And definitely, that thing about the previous names isn't very clear. Maybe we can add it to Kriss' questions ;D ;D and speaking of whitch Just hypothetically: To what questions to him would like to know the answer, if you had this opportunity? @kriss Other than second Firouz interesting question, I'd like to ask: 1: Years ago there were rumours about an aos wrap up movie, to make up for the unfinished plotlines. I understand that time is passed already for this eventuality, since the maket has changed and the cast grew older. But I'd like to know if maybe this can be done with another medium. Ed Naha's last project was an animated (CG) cartoon, could it be possible to do the same with AOS? Just an idea. 2: Speaking about those 47 not-used plotlines for season 2 and 3. I wonder if he still remember or has saved some of them. 3: What about his next projects? Any fantasy, Sinbad-like (with a lot of magic and sense of wonder) new story in his agenda?

@dermott: Aya, the presence of the spirits is what I find most interesting about it as well. Hehe, and yeah, one would wonder whether they have something to do with the skulls the crew destroyed. ;D Aya, and let's add that to the questions. ^^^ Oh, that I would be interested in as well. I mean, we got a rough outline of S3... but yes, would have been interesting to know just what adventures had been avaiting them (and moreover what was the plot of those that never got produced during S2). Well, an anime would be nice, wouldn't it? *giggles, high-fives* Nha, but honestly, a good idea indeed.

Just hypothetically: To what questions to him would like to know the answer, if you had this opportunity? Sorry for getting back on this so late, but yesterday evening a question suddenly popped in in my head and I guess if I ever had the opportunity to ask, I'd be about this one: did you know that when Bryn came into the show she was supposed to have a crush on Doubar? I think they didn't really want to replace Maeve... I'd love to know whether that was just a rumour or true (sorry, D/B geekiness ).

I hope this would be true. It always saddened me how other crew members were left over with love matters. They were great characters with great personnality, and I would by far prefer to see the others develop a relationship than always see Sinbad flirting with anyone showing a cleavage, hehehe. But then I guess it's simply because I'm a hopeless romantic
