What she meant... especially when he's with you. Did he have some special considerations against Kriss. For her it seemed that he had rather cheeky nature. "We mentioned our meeting yesterday." She answered.

Kahlan saw that Caipra seemed a little confused, so she intervened. "Ziad has kept an eye on Aniel for a moment yesterday, and Kriss wished to thank him by inviting him for a dinner...tonight." She gave a knowing smile to the old woman. Even if it was supposed to be a simple dinner, implying nothing, the situation was amusing for the young woman.

"Hmm, I see. This promises to be interesting." Caipra answered, smiling back at Kahlan and glancing at Kriss.

Kriss rolled her eyes again. She began to regret having invited this guy for dinner. She was expecting to regret this even more when he appeared. "Oh, I wouldn't call it interesting." She said with a little indignation in her voice.

"It depends on the point of view." Caipra answered with a wink. She ate a grape and continued. "So what have you planned? Is it going to take place here?"

They both sounded like it would have been something really unusal that she had invited Ziad for dinner. Maybe it was a bit strange since they do not really like each other. But still it was just not to stay beholden.
Kriss who was slicing an egg for Aniel made face at Caipra's wink, "I've planned nothing."
But it was a very good question. Where could it take place? She would have better not prepared it here, in the main room. She was thinking about more secluded place. She even had an idea for this.

"Then what are you waiting for? The evening can come faster than you think!" Caipra said. The old lady looked around herself, thinking. "Let's see..." Caipra was trying to find the best place in the tavern, but knowing Kriss, she knew that she wouldn't want to do it in the main room. So there was not a lot of other possibilities.

Kriss gave Caipra the one of her fierce looks. She did not like that her firend was trying to organize her dinner, her meeting, her life. "I bet that his favorite place in this tavern is my storage room but it's too small unfortunately." She said to Caipra with the sarcasm in her voice and on her smile.

Caipra turned her head to face Kriss She perfectly remembered that day, when she and Ziad had to go to the storage room to have a private talk about a magic matter. It was before the tavern's owner discovered everything about Caipra's abilities. The old lady also remembered Kriss's anger when she had discovered them in that room...
She sighed and answered with the same tone than the Archer. "Well, if you remove some boxes for a while and if you clean the room, I'm sure we could succeed in giving it a quite romantic atmoshpere. But well, if you can find a place better than...the storage room, then please, tell us."
Caipra was joking with Kriss but it was her tavern and her dinner after all, the young lady could decide what she wanted to do herself.

Kriss' irritated glance was penetrating the ceiling. "Do not worry about him so much...I can find a good place. All in all, it's my tavern and my dinner." She said ironically.

Caipra smiled at Kriss's answer and said. "Fine. I wouldn't have said better myself". The old sorceress knew the Archer enough well to know when it was time to stop talking about something, for a while at least.
She looked at Kahlan who was quiet for a while and asked her. "What about you, dear. Any plans for this evening?"

Kahlan was listening to the two women without daring to interrupt them. She was a little lost when they were talking about some storage room but the whole situation was making her smile.
Kriss and Caipra were talking to each other for quite a while, now. That's why Kahlan was a little startled when the old lady suddenly asked her a question. And it was a good question. Since this morning, they were all trying to plan something for this dinner that she hadn't even thought about herself. What was she going to do in the meantime? She had no clue...
She looked toward Kriss but her attention was caught by Aniel sitting just beside his mother. That's when the idea came in her mind. "Well, Someone needs to keep an eye on Aniel tonight, and seeing that his previous babysitter has some other plan for tonight, maybe I could stay in our room with him." She looked at Kriss, waiting for her opinion.

Kriss was helping her son with his meal while Caipra asked Kahlan about her plans for the evening. She raised her eyes at the young woman, "Sure, you can stay at the attic but you don't need to take over Aniel if don't want it." She did not wanted her to feel required to help her in everything. "I'm sure Ziad won't mind him eating with us."

"It won't be a problem, don't worry. On the contrary, I think I'll feel better with him than alone." She said with a tone that showed that she was determined. What she said was only the true. If Kahlan was staying alone that night, she would again think about all the last awful days. She needed to have something else to think about. So the young lady wouldn't do it because she had to, but because she wanted to.

"If you say so..." Kriss nodded at Kahlan. The young woman for sure did not want to sit alone this night. Then Kriss turned back at Caipra and asked with the light shade of irritation in her voice, "And what your plans for the evening?"
