[Caipra]

Caipra nodded. "Sure. And maybe you could ask Kahlan to get out of the kitchen and to join us." She said with a smirk.

[Kriss]

Kriss giggled, "Sure. Look over Aniel for a while. I will be right back."
She stood up, took the basket and her coat from the bar and went to the kitchen to get Kahlan.

[Kahlan]

Kahlan was trying to hear Kriss and the old lady talking. But they were too far and there was too much noise in the tavern. So instead, she decided to take a look at what the chef was cooking. She needed to thing about something else.
The man was very nice, he wasn't even surprised to see her in the kitchen, and he let her taste some of his preparations.
They were talking together when Kriss entered the kitchen.

[Kriss]

Kriss walked into the kitchen. Kahlan seemed to enjoy the company of Kriss' chef. She smiled at the both of them when they had turned at her. She came to the table and put the basket on it.
"Come one, Kal. We will eat something." She said to her friend and then said to the plump man,
"Bring us some lunch. There are three of us and Aniel. "

[Kahlan]

Kalhan looked at the chef and then at Kriss with hesitation.
"The lady is still here?" she asked.

[Kriss]

"Yes. But don't worry, you can trust her." She said to Kahlan and nodded at her to follow her. The girls left the kitchen together.

[Kahlan]

Kahlan followed the tavern's owner. She didn't really have a choice after all. Besides, she started thinking that she shouldn't try to hide herself from everyone. It was the best way to be noticed.

The old lady was indeed still here, watching Kriss's son with affection. She raised her head when she heard the two ladies coming and smiled at them. Kahlan smiled back and saluted the lady with a sign of her head.

Kriss could only try to imagine how hard it had to be for Kahlan to trust anyone here. She also is very distrustful but Caipra was someone who really was able to establish confidence. The archer hoped that Kahlan would trust her, too. She wanted to clear the atmosphere.

The brunette grabbed her son from the floor.
"Look, girls! I caught the gnome!"
Kicking with his legs boy was seated on the chair by the table and his mother sat down next to him.

[Caipra]

Caipra laughed, watching Kriss and her son. Then she looked at Kahlan and tried to make her more comfortable.
"Hello Kahlan, come, take a seat." She said, showing an empty seat. "I'm glad to see you today. I have to say that our first meeting yesterday was quite quick, and I wanted to have the chance to meet you properly."

[Kahlan]

Kahlan sat down next to Caipra and answered
"Yes, our meeting was quick, indeed. Everything went fast for me since I arrived. I was a little lost. But everything is better now, thanks to Kriss."
She looked at the tavern's owner with a sincere smile.

[Kriss]

Continued Kahlan's thanks became a little tiring for Kriss. "Oh, stop it. I did what I had to do." She said to the woman and wanted to change the subject, "Let's talk about our shopping." The archer gave a proposition and added with a smile, "My little gnome has already showed Caipra all his captures." She patted the boy's head.

[Kahlan]

*If Kriss only knew what she'd really done*, Kahlan thought, "In other circumstances she wouldn't have received only thanks*. But the young lady let down the subject and answered to the tavern's owner.
"Do you want to talk about what we bought...or about our meeting with the chief's guard?" She said, with an smirk.

[Caipra]

Caipra was thanking the waitress for bringing the food when she heard Kahlan. She looked at Kriss and said "You've met Ziad, today? I haven't seen him for a while. How is he?"

[Kriss]

Kriss rolled her eyes discretely at the mention of her favorite guard in the town.
"Well, he is insolent, like alwyas." She answered at Caipra's question with an ironic smirk.

[Caipra]

Caipra laughed and said "The contrary would have surprised me, especially when he's with you. What was it about this time?"
