"Well...Ash," she said, rolling the name out, testing it out, liking it she continued, "you seem to have stirred up quite a bit of trouble. Did you aggravate those men?"
She honestly wanted to know. A brawl always starts with someone...

Ashven nodded sheepishly, rubbing the back of his head with one hand. His mannerisms seemed to portray honesty as he spoke his "side" of the story.
"I suppose that I started it. I won't bother you with the details but I'm looking for a small stone."
He made a show of the general size and shape of it with his hands..
"A stone that was stolen from me. It's really of little consequence to anyone but myself. I happened to pass this jewel vendor and, as you might expect, thought it a good place to look for my stone. After all, if someone was to sell a gemstone they would likely sell it to a vendor. Would you not agree?"
He nodded satisfactorily and continued without allowing a word edgewise.
"It would seem that he did not approve of my investigation and though I did apologize for any annoyance I might have caused him, he was not satisfied and called upon these brutes."
He motioned at the men still strewn about the street.
"And.. well.. You know the rest."
He paused before looking the two over and bringing one hand up to his chest.
"On that note. You now know of my name. What might I call you two.. Ladies?"

Thea nodded after his story and in reply to his question she said "My name is Anthea, or you could me Thea."
She could percieve Khei was sensing something, but what she didn't know. She looked to Khei for introduction.

Khei stepped up with a nod and a friendly smile.
"I'm Khei. I don't think you can really shorten it much more that it already is."

"Well Thea, Khei. It is a.."
He paused for a minute, seeming to almost choke on the word.
"..Pleasure.. to make your acquaintance."

"You too," Thea replied with no smile. "You should probably leave this area. Those guys might want revenge. Just a warning."

Ash nodded, his smile never fading.
"I'll be sure to stay out of their sight."
He decided that it might be best to not seek help in his search. However, because they now knew of his stone, he was not willing to simply just wander off. Humans were often greedy creatures at heart..
Looks like I may have to keep an eye on these two..
"Well as entertaining as recent events have been, I'll just be on my way."
He gave another slight bow before he began to walk away.

Khei watched quietly as Ashven departed before turning back to Thea.
"Are there many people around here like that?"
Her question might, at first, seem in jest though she was quite honest about her inquiry. She was unnerved at the remote possibility that there were more people in Baghdad like him.

She frowned. "I really hope not Khei, but I do believe it true."She looked at the man's back as he walked away. That was hardly a goodbye. "See you around," she called after him. "Where are you going anyway?" she asked for the sake of it.

Ashven stopped and turned just enough to acknowledge the question.
"Well I do still have the pressing issue of finding my property and I'm quite sure that there are more merchants in this city who may have come into possession of it."

"So you're going to check all the merchants in the city to find this stone?" she asked in disbelief. How could a stone be that important? Probably a family heirloom, she thought to herself.

Ashven turned completely to face Thea more conveniently and nodded, extending a hand in a circular motion as if to further draw his point.
"Yes; and every merchant in the world if I have to."

Well. Okay. "Just letting you know your social skills don't seem to work that great on merchants. Apparently, your arrogance appears to start fights. Before dusk the whole city would be in a riot because of you." She crossed her arms and studied him. "I'd take this wouldn't be your first fight, right?"

His smile faded briefly as if ever so lightly moved by Thea's observation. He shrugged before answering.
"Admittedly I've been in a scrape or two before today and perhaps my "social skills" as you call it, are lacking."
He folds his own arms, almost, as if in defiance.
"I honestly see nothing wrong with wanting what is mine but what would your recommendation be as to how I should go about my task?"

She flicked a tendril of hair out of her face and gave him a condescending smile. "Not aggravating people for a start. If you be cooperative, they will cooperative right back. It's the same as if you punch someone they punch you back. The latter you seem more familiar with." She put her hands her hips. He had wit, she had none. She was trying not to let her verbal defences down so she continued, "You have a certain...charm. Be persuasive and you could find it faster."
