Thoughts about the story

I have no problem with giving my chara' a new start or reconstruct the vilains plot depends of what you both think will be more easy/logical.

I was trying to reconstruct but just remember there was something about Rumina wanting to make SInbad suffer by harming Maeve and then I also know there was something about Dim Dim interfering with her plans and in some way Maeve´s escape from the other realm was connected to all of this, but it has been so long...

but to be honest, I don't remember much of it either :/

All right, trying to reconstruct from what Doubs told me and from what I remember and briefly looked up.

The idea was, I believe, that Rumina was planning to avenge her father´s death by hurting someone close to Sinbad - Maeve. She tried to kill her in the storm that sent Maeve overboard, but Dim Dim saved her and Rumina´s plan failed. In the Other Ream she was protected and safe and out of Rumina´s reach so she tried another plan.
She got into contact with the witch in training Eleana who somehow had some magic that was supposed to trick Bryn. The crew of the Apocalypse were supposed to drop some hints to the Nomad crew and make the curious about some hidden magic of sorts. Bryn would eventually acquire a little box that contained that magic. Something was supposed to happen taht would release Maeve from the other real because of that magic and thus place her in Rumina´s grasp again.

However, things turned out differently.

I do not rememebr what exactly happened, but there were two young guys that reported to Ziad about a witch (not Maeve) who threatened one of them with her magic. Ziad interrogated these two boys because the Omar´s law forbids magic these days in Basra. He then secretly called Caipra to cast a forgetting spell on the two guys. So apparently Ziad, wanting to find out whether there is any illegal magic in "his" town, still tolerates some magic such as Caipra´s and thus goes against his boss´ orders.

While Caipra cast the spell on the two guys, something happened. the spell was very powerful and Caipra exhausted herself over it almost, creating a fine ripple in the fabric of magic and (i believe this was because Dim Dim created that spell originally) a ripple between the earthly and the other realm. It only lasted for a moment, but Maeve, out and restless at night, saw some lights on the water, waded into the water and got through that ripple in the veil. Why? Because the "protectors", mystic, bodiless beings who are impartial to everything but protecting the other realm, took a curious interest in her and beckoned her closer, thus luring her in. Here is the thread, it´s a bit hard to explain in detail.

So in the end, because of Caipra´s slightly overachieving magic and Maeve´s curiosity and the fact that the protecting spirits were just for a moment taking a notice of the things around tehm, Maeve appeared in the midst of Ziad´s guard post.

Sooo basically we can guess that Rumina might be pissed her own plan didn´t work out but eventually she will find out that Maeve is back in the real world and possibly send her minions to do soemthing against that.. I am sure we can do some plotting around that

Oh, we can definitely use that. Also, the witch in question was no other than Bryn, whose dark side awakened for a moment there.

She was attacked by some youngsters and her powerful, but dark side, took control. She made her way back to the tavern where she fainted. Caipra happened to visit Kriss that same evening which is how she was there to look after Bryn and console her when she woke.

Thanks to Caipra, Bryn quickly found her faith again and fell asleep while Caipra herself went back home to deal with the lads who had witnessed Bryn's magical outburst. She collected the ingredients needed and cast the memory wipe spell.

Maybe its talked about, and I simply missed it do to the long time between the planning stages and how the posts are coming along, but Maeve has progressed in her magic, right? She has grown stronger, and is supposed to give Rumina a harder time, right? Like I said, it's been a long time. Also, the Apocalypse crew, what kind of chaos will they put forth in their efforts to follow and NOT follow Rumina's orders?

I am not sure about the Apocalypse´s crew, but I am pretty sure we agreed Maeve progressed some during her time with Dim Dim.

The original plan was that the Apocalypse crew DOES follow Rumina's orders. However, with everyone but Eleana gone we have to re-think matters here.

Oh god, my post is so long... Looks like my muse got carried away but then again I needed to cram a lot of things in there... and it's past 3 a.m.
