LOL; the word "plotting" just puts me in mind of a small group meeting in the shadows, plotting to take over the world or something. xD
*ahem* Now to the serious business at hand...
So as far as I can tell, we are allowed only 2 characters at the present time, correct?

Lol! Taking over the world? Not a too bad idea. ;D But seriously, yup, just like Kriss confirmed: it's two characters for now.

Okiedokie That rule should help curb my tendency of making billions of characters. xD haha On Wild Equines, I have 80+ characters. ;D So none of that here. lol As for ideas I've had, there are about 3 or 4 distinct that have formulated and they are as follows: 1. A young prince/king (not sure which), sole survivor of his island nation (which sinks or something; maybe sorta "Atlantis-ish" in terms of its destruction?) who escaped with what folk of his land that he could rescue, but all of them eventually died until he was the only one left, drifting around the ocean and seems likely to die, but either the Nomad or another ship find him and save him. Of course, then he'll have to figure out what to do with himself, because though he is a royal, he has no country left to rule. He could either become a member of the crew, if there is space, or seek a new life in a port city or something. Perhaps his country was well known for horses and he gets into breeding/selling horses as a way to provide for himself? -shrugs- 2. An exiled Selkie woman. She was exiled for a crime she did not commit; her younger brother was involved in an accident where the prince of the realm was killed -- not through her brother's fault, though -- and either her brother would be executed or she could be exiled to pay for the "crime", though the king of the realm knew that neither of them were guilty, but law is law. So she wanders at will around the world, but if she ever enters the territory of her people, she will be killed on sight. Much angst ensues. xD haha She would want to be on a ship; she might disguise her gender if she felt it was needed. And for reference, Selkies are from Irish/Scottish folklore and are seals that can shed their skin and become human -- essentially, shapeshifters. My "version" of selkies is a bit different from traditional, but not *way* off. If anyone needs more details, feel free to ask! And I figured that since AoS is essentially fantasy, that a selkie would be acceptable? 3. A young woman of Celtic descent who has a tendency to visions. I haven't got a whole lot of story for her yet, though. Just an idea of what she would look like and the vision ability. xD Now, I know I can only have two characters and I wouldn't necessarily play two of the above; it might just be one of the above. I'm definitely leaning towards the first character mentioned, the other two I would have to decide between, or else go with someone completely different -- for example, if there is a canon character available, I might play that. Or maybe not. Dunno yet. xD So that's what I have at the moment.

I really like your first idea about the lost prince figure. He could provide for an interesting character I think. Also leaving open quite a few things and directions for future development that we might come around to link to a later plot, who knows? Also, as for whether there are places available on board the Nomad: yup there are for guys and also, yup, especially now since one of the sailors / deckhands just left to pursue his own luck.

I like the first character! And the first thing that came in my mind when I read this bio was : "Hmm, could be a future good mate for my character..." ;D (Kahlan is a princess too. ) The second character is quite interesting too.

Glad y'like my first idea ;D He kept randomly popping into my head all through yesterday, more and more defined every time. xD And considering the Nomad crew rescued him from certain death, I think he might feel it only right to help out there while he's on the ship and then perhaps when they reach land he decides to stay on as a member because he enjoyed it. And for possible future plotting, perhaps he eventually learns that his country didn't just get destroyed through natural causes, but was destroyed by a sorcerer or something? Btw, are there any "canon" characters available?

I was thinking just into that same direction, about his country possibly having been magically destroyed. And I was just thinking that we might have the possibility to get him into the plot once the Nomad sets sail again which will not be long after they reunited with Maeve.. I guess. As for canons... no really big ones as far as I know. There is an available canon characters thread around though. Minors are available.

That would be awesome ^^ I'm not sure I'd be brave enough to take on a major canon character; be worried I wouldn't portray them right! But I might just take a look at the minor characters and see if there is anyone I might like to try my hand at rping.

*puts her two cents in as well * Well, just like Sinbad said already, for male sailors the Nomad is still open. So your first character could definitely become part of the crew if he wants to and the plot evolves that way. Alternatively of course he could become a horse-breeder and settle down in either Basra or Baghdad (these are the two cities were own plotlines are being developed at the moment [either of the two circling around original characters mostly ]). As for the others two: well, the Selkie does sound pretty interesting. We already have Khei though whose real self is a beast-like creature but that shall not be a problem I think. More of a problem would be the gender though (at least when you wanted her to become part of the crew) as we are trying to limit the number of female crew members. One of our other players has thrown in the idea of creating a woman who sails in disguise as a man so maybe one should talk to her first before introducing a second character in disguise. Anyhow. You got some nice ideas there. And for a start option no. 1 indeed sounds like the best. Whoa. How do you manage 80 characters?

Eeep, I've been to slow writing. xD But, hehe, yeah, Kal's got a point there. Though, if you guys remember... Rongar's a prince, too! Hehe, the Nomad's becoming real royal then. ;D And as for canons... well, like Sinbad said: pretty much every minor canon is still available. And I don't know really... DimDim's player has been absent for a whole while now. I don't know if maybe the old wizard might be up for grabs some time soon again.

For #1, I think leaving where he will end up (on the crew or in Basra or Baghdad) will probably wait 'til things have happened up to that point. I have no idea right now what he would decide It would be kinda funny if there was the two of them there in disguise and they met xD haha However, I'll wait and find out from the other player with the woman in disguise idea, and see how that goes. ;D Glad y'like them! And yeah, I think #1 is definitely my favorite, even if #2 has been around much longer (she's been in several stories I've had before. xD) Somehow I manage it; even I don't know how xD I even manage to keep most of them active, which I'm rather proud of, considering the lack of time I have for rp-ing in the summer! Eeep, I've been to slow writing. xD But, hehe, yeah, Kal's got a point there. Though, if you guys remember... Rongar's a prince, too! Hehe, the Nomad's becoming real royal then. ;D Whoa, Rongar is a prince? I didn't know that! Must not have seen that episode... Must brush up on my AoS watching! lol Like I said, I might try a minor canon, but I'm not sure if I'm brave enough for a major canon, like DimDim... though the challenge might be fun, if DimDim's player was gone, of course! I like your ideas The first one sounds great And if you need details about some major/minor charcters feel free to ask. 2K (me and Kahlan) are the experts on this show ;D Glad y'like them! If I could get details on all the minor characters that are available, that would be lovely!

I have no idea right now what he would decide Oh, sure, and I didn't mean to plan ahead anyway. Just wanted to mention the options. Hehe, indeed. And I can somehow picture the guys looking at both women with a "Whut? " expression. Ooooh, I think they'd really feel ashamed that two women could trick them into thinking they were men. ;D Anyhow. The player who mentioned such a scenario already would be the one who plays Bryn. *bows* Congrats on managing them somehow. Yup, it's actually been one of the best S2 eps story-wise. Here's the summary: distandlands.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=ii&action=display&thread=194 . Hm, yeah, we should ask Sinbad for any news about DimDim's player. As far as I know our captain was the last one who talked to OldSerendib and she and DimDim were close friends... so maybe our captain knows something. Hm, ones that come to my mind right now are: Velda (that healer friend of Firouz) The Caliph of Bagdhad, as well as Casib and his wife Omar's servants Poeple who belong to The Adevnturers (watch the ep The Gift for them) Zora (Rongar's sister) Ahm, these are all that come to my mind right now. I bet the 2K know some more.
