Hey! It's Skander! Or rather Edmund Penvensie, the Just King of Narnia! I LOVE the Avatar! LOL ;D Yup! I love my avvie too ;D Ooo Another veteran RPer! 80+ characters eh? lol Reminds me of Kosui or Britt from MZDM.. And I thought *I* had MAD (Multiple Avatar Disorder. Yes we actually NAMED it at MZDM XP ) the 2 character rule does keep MADness under control tho XP Otherwise I'd have not just brought over Khei and Ashven but Rahven.. and Koshi.. and Ewey.. and Brandiff.. Well you get the idea XP Welcome to the insanity! Thankies Khei ^^ I love insanity; one of my favorite one-liners is "I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it!" xD Oh boy, there is an actual name for my ailment? xD That's awesome. ;D (Shall have to remember that'un. ;D) What's MZDM? -curious- Khei, All those?! I'm an old rookie at RP-ing, but I have NEVER gone past 4 or 5 characters at a time! LOL I once upon a time had 4 or 5 charries on WE (the wild equines forum I have the 80+ characters on), but somehow or another I ended up with over 80 of them and I'm still not entirely sure how it happened. xD But I love them all! ;D @doubar: I think handling that many characters requires a touch of schizophrenia. xD haha (just kidding, of course )

@ Bran
MZDM = Master Zen Dao Meow aka NCD = Napping Cat's Dream
Was a Role Playing forum based on the Zen Dao webcomic. Sadly both the comic and the forum have since died and remains nothing more than an archive these days. (Luckily we can still re read over all our old threads)

Zen Dao is. well hard to explain.. www.masterzdm.com would be the best way to figure out what the comic was really about XP as for starting *Grins and wrings her hands* Mayhaps it's time for Ashven to come into play XP Seriously tho that would in fact be a question for one of our Admins to answer..

@bran: Hum, well, that's bit of a problem. Right now the crew is in Basra, waiting to get Maeve back from the hidden realm. Since we have a timeline here (ya know, all shall be somewhat realistic) we cannot play a scenario on the open seas yet/parallely to the current one. So either you have a little patience and the Nomad picks you up on sea as soon as we get to leave the harbour, or we can brainstorm on a version that would bring you in as soon as possible (am sure we'll be able to think of something).

@ Khei: Thankies for the link ^^ @ Doubar: I can be patient. Though I may have to make a character to play in Basra in the meantime, to help me remain patient. haha

@doubar, yea, I RP-ed in a forum for ST:Voyager about 5-8 years back. I played B'Elanna Torres and Kes.
@bran, another character in Basra?? How many is that now? We have Caipra, Serendib, Ziad, Kriss, Kahlan, the crew themselves, Sean (gone now), Aniel (sort of) and...am I missing someone? I feel like I am? Mala is on her way and Maeve is almost through the protective barrier.....
But, perhaps, your Basra character could be a merchant. A perferred one that some of the crew like to sell and/or buy from? We don't have a merchant yet! LOL Just a suggestion.
And he/she can get caught up in the crew's adventure if he/she wants too. Perhaps, when the crew is fighting and Maeve arrives, he/she can stumble upon them by hearing the fighting?
He/She might not even know how to fight, but was brave/courageous enough to find out what was happening???
Just an idea?

Well, you could as well be part of the Baghdad storyline with a character for a start. Thea mentioned a stableman there so maybe that could be a reasonable starting point. Or well, Thea is just crafting an armour and someone's got to buy it so maybe that'd be a possibility, too. *shrugs* I have to admit I'm not all too creative at the moment, but am sure someone around here has a nice idea. And Firouz' merchant idea is not bad either anyway. *grin* That might be true, yes. ;D @firouz: Oh, Star Trek. Nice. My cousin was a fan of the series so I know a li'l bit about it. Heh, actually I found it to be funny that I had no problem at all with doing the Vulcanian Hello (I kinda liked Spok best anyways ^^ ) while some Trekkies had to give up trying or needed the other hand to stabilize the fingers in this position. ;D

@ Firouz: I like your idea about the merchant character! ^^ Especially about maybe hearing the crew fighting and how he/she goes to help, maybe doesn't really know *how* to fight, but is courageous enough to check things out ;D I wonder if I could mesh that somehow with the #3 character idea I had (she was pestering me last night that she wanted to be in things too and has taken on a few character developments on me, when I wasn't even sure if she would ever be anything! -dies from opinionated character- xD lol
@ Doubar: Is anything happening in Baghdad right now?

@bran: At the moment there's not much happening I have to admit. Thea offered Khei (who just arrived there) to stay at her place. It was planned that Scratch would get involved since the innocent and unexperienced Khei would be an interesting target for him. But well, unfortunately Scratch's player's not around these days. So basically at the moment it's just Thea and Khei getting to know each other.

@ Doubar: I see I had something of a dream last night that really helped "flesh out" my #3 character ;D And I've done a lot of thinking about here and here is what I have at the moment. The character (gonna have to come up with a name for her, poor thing xD) was born in the area that would now be Wales/Scotland and, having been orphaned at a young age (knows nothing about her birth parents), was made a ward of the king (who was good friends with her father and promised to take care of her). She and the crown prince were of the same age and grew up together. In fact, it wasn't until they were 10 years old that they found out that they weren't twins, which they had always just assumed before that time. More importantly, they discovered that his parents planned for them to wed when they were older. This thought repulsed both of them; it would be like in modern times if you found out your parents were planning to marry you to your brother! I know it would not meet my approval, such a plan! At first they tried convincing his parents, but when that didn't work, they arranged for her to flee by night as far as possible, promising to keep in touch as much as possible. She eventually ends up in Baghdad where she is taken under the wing of a merchant family. Showing great aptitude with numbers and business, by the time she was fifteen she was practically running the business on her own, giving the merchant and his family plenty of leisure time. xD lol By the time she was seventeen, she had even expanded his business for him, so that he had something of a "chain" (like Wal-Mart xD haha), one shop in Baghdad (the original) and another opening in Basra. When the merchant dies quite suddenly, his wife is wealthy enough that she needs no involvement in the business (save an annuity that the girl promises the merchant's surviving family), and so she takes over completely. By now she is approximately twenty-five and well established as a young business-woman. For a short time she was quite poor, during the time when Prince Casib was being advised by Admir (sp?), as she said something less than complimentary about the new adviser and escaped imprisonment only by paying an enormous fine. She was fortunate to be such an able merchant, as she did eventually regain what was lost through shrewd -- yet very honest! -- business efforts and by living in Basra for a while, until Sinbad and the others took care of Admir (lol). For quite some time she has been the preferred provider of supplies and such to the Nomad's crew. Also, she prefers to send her cargo on their ship, rather than any other, as she trusts them very much to take care of what she sends with them. Whenever they arrive in port, she loves to hear tales of their adventures and likes, on rare occasions when business makes it possible, to go with her cargo. She sees the main members of the crew almost like extended family. Also, I was thinking that she sends letters via the Nomad to her "brother" back where she came from and he sends them back via the Nomad, but his parents know nothing about their continued correspondence. ;D So, that's what I've got so far. And this would make it so she could be in Basra *or* Baghdad. Do you folks think such a character is feasible?

Humm, definitely sounds interesting (though we have a lot of orphans in this board then ). Personally I like the idea and it might be possible for her to often trade with them as we never got to see any merchants in the show. Only thing I'm not all too sure about is the "She sees the main members of the crew almost like extended family" part as I think that maybe such a close friend should have been introduced already in the show. However, since we have only been in Baghdad once (I mean the crew of course in the series) it's still very well possible that the crew has got a good merchant friend there. And the going with her cargo would indeed give you the chance to come along on some of their journeys without actually being a part of the crew; let alone that with this character you can switch between the two settings (Basra and Baghdad) and have a sensible reason for that one. Well, of course my voice is not the only one that counts, but personally I like this idea. And the background with the correspondance could make for a nice plot one day.
