Thea’s house was nothing special. It was at the brink marketplace where it stood in the shadows of a canopy of trees. It was big yet shabby, it had plenty of rooms but most were empty of furniture. She has bought it from the previous owner at a cheap price because of a fire which had ripped through its structure. He repaired it but the house was no longer the fine standard which it had been before the fire. He sold it to her after a few days after she had arrived in Baghdad. She did what she could to make it a little more homely. She had a little room at the back of the house where she crafted metals. She was not exceptionally skilled at blacksmithing but it was what payed for the food and taxes. She dabbled at forging a few weapons which made good prices. She took Khei’s mare and Razi to the stalls at the side of the house, which were used when some horses need costumed made horse shoes. She would need to start a fire soon. The night was always coolest.
She glanced at Khei. Her curiousity of Khei and her past wouldn't let her go. She noticed the objects around Khei's wrists and her startling green eyes. She would venture, hoping that Khei wouldn't be put off, with her curiousity. After she led Khei to the front door and opened it. “Come right through.”

Khei was visibly awe-struck as they approached Thea's home. Even having been ravaged by a fire and renovated it was still quite the lodging in Khei's eyes, shabby as it might have been. She never knew anyone could live in such a large home.
She dismounted and watched as Thea led the horses to the stables. She follows Thea to the entrance and nods politely as she's invited in.
"Wow. You really live here?"

“Yep. No place like home.” Thera escorted Khei through to the entrance way and into the lounge. She took off her knife and laid it on the table nearby. “Well, there are some spare rooms up the stairs, you can take a pick, and none are much use to me. If you need anything just let me know and come down when you’re ready. I’ll get you something to eat. It’s soup but its terrible soup, just a warning. I’m not much of a cook.”

"OKay. Thank you very much for your hospitality."
Khei bowed respectfully and made her way up the stairs to find a room with a suitable place to rest. She found one room with a small bed she felt was enough and took her belt and boots off, laying them neatly at the foot of the bed before making her way downstairs again.
Without the clicking of her boots on the floor, she had a catlike stealth about her. She seemed perfectly at home walking barefoot as she followed her nose into what she perceived to be the kitchen.
"Smells good actually."

Anthea watched as Khei made her way upstairs. She raised her eyebrows and smiled in surprised. She had never been bowed to before. Khei is a bit of a mystery, she thought. She walked to the fire place and got the fire started, basking in its warmth for a moment. She gathered a few foods and planned on cooking one of the simplest things she knew how to make. Soup.
She had just put in a couple of foods into a pot when Khei . She smiled in reply. "Soup, good for a strong hearty appetite." She placed a two bowls on the nearby table.

Khei smiled and nodded, taking a seat. She made every effort to be as polite as she knew how to be. She didn't have much experience in such dining situations and was unable to hide her nervousness.
"Soup is good for the soul I've heard."

Thea put a bowl and spoon in front of Khei. Khei was well-mannered and if Anthea didn't notice, a bit anxious or a similar emotion to that. Thea placed few more pices of food into the pot that hung over the fire, let it simmer for a moment before she pulled it away and filled up the bowl in front of Khei then one for herself. She sat her self down and picked up the spoon and took a sip. The fire radiated around the room and let off flickering shadows.
"Enjoy. I hope everything is to your satisfaction." She suddenly felt awkward, not sure how to continue the conversation. "Are you well?" She sighed. She was tempted to smack her head against the wall for a stupid topic of conversation. She wasn't very good with company.

Khei smiled and nodded.
"Thank you very much!"
She took up a spoon and took a sip. She gave a sort of satisfied "Hmm" sound and continued sipping of the soup. She looked up when addressed and nodded.
"Very much. Thank you. This soup is quite good."

She smiled in thanks and at Khei's reaction. Thea took a few moments to herself, lost in thought. Curiousity then started to loom its nosy head in her mind...How was she to address Khei about her stay in Baghdad? Did she have family? What else was there to know about her new guest? She quickly composed herself.
"Khei," she started. "If you don't mind my asking, but what brings you Baghdad?"

Khei shrugged, careful not to try to talk with her mouth full. She knew that much was impolite.
"Honestly I was growing weary of the voyage.. and the crew.. I'm fairly sure they were happy to be rid of me too. They gave me a ride to their next stop at a port and that port was here. I thought this was as good a place as any to find a life for myself."
She returned her attention to the soup, the thought that perhaps Thea wished to know where she came from hadn't crossed her mind.

Thea realised she would have to phrase the question right. She began to ponder during the easy silence. She would have to approach the subject in the correct way but gradually. She didn't want to appear too abrubt.
"Did you enjoy the ocean?" she asked, not sure of where this topic came from. "When I came to Baghdad a while back, I wasn't very accustomed to the constant rocking of the ship but found the deck to be quite...nice. Did you enjoy it?"

Khei looked up and shook her head.
"It was my first time on anything bigger than a simple fishing boat. I was sick for the first few days.. After that it wasn't so bad.. I guess you get used to it.. Might have been nicer had the crew been more.. friendly.. or at least not so cold.."
She fidgeted with her bracers again before adding..
"I guess I couldn't blame them really..."

This struck Thea. She looked curiously at Khei.
"What do you mean by that?" she asked.

Khei sighed and shook her head.
"The only reason that ship even dropped anchor near the island where I was raised was because they were blown so far off course and were in need of supplies and coin. If they hadn't been in such need for money I doubt they would have ever even considered allowing me aboard.."
She looked at the floor a bit uneasy before continuing.
"I don't think they trusted my master either.."

This caught Thea off guard. Khei had travelled with someone but they weren't here...
"You mean...you have a master? Where is he?"
