Before, one of my favorite Bryn pairings was Firouz, because of the magic and science union they would have! I could easily see them fighting over it in a friendly-loving way!
BUT!!!
Doubar and Bryn nis becoming my new favorite! Besides Maeve and Sinbad, of course!

Funny enough I personally have never thought about Firouz and Bryn. Dunno why actually, because I have to admit that you're right - the union of magic and science for sure would be an interesting thing. But I guess I simply belonged to those who took what was the easiest (if one did not know about Bryn being Rumi's sister xD ) - Dermott and Bryn. *shrugs, smiles sheepishly*

Yeah, my favorite fic was called "The Heart of Magic and the Mind of Science".

It was written about 9 years ago, but I never saved it and now it's no longer posted anywhere.

It was in season 3 where they found Maeve.

Maeve rejoined the crew and helped Bryn learn her magic.

She had a bracelet too.

Bryn was still crushing heavily on Sinbad and both Sinbad and Maeve knew it.

Maeve and Sinbad had many talks about his relationships and Bryn most of all.

Maeve cast some humilating spells on him as punishment; which he took with silence as he felt like he deserrved them.

Bryn, of course, didn't understand and demanded to know why Sinbad was taking Maeve's 'abuse' from Firouz.

Firouz tried to explain the differences between S1 and S2 Sinbad, but Bryn couldn't see it as she had never experienced S1 Sinbad.

Bryn then went to talk to Sinbad. He explained as best as he could, but he wasn't any better then Firouz.

Bryn was very angry and her magic started to effect the ship. Maeve used her magic to syphone the magic form Bryn into the earth and the two of them had a nice long talk.

Bryn explained how and why she loved Sinbad.

Maeve did as well and explained that they had much in common from what her teacher DimDim had told.

Bryn pointed out her link to Sinbad by the bracelet.

Maeve said it was only to show who was to be in a leadership position in the on-coming war with the darkness.

Maeve and Bryn talked some more and Bryn was slowly coming to terms that she was crushing on Sinbad because he was handsome and helped her when she was in a VERY bad situation.

Days later she and Firouz were working on the deck when he asked her for her help with an experiment of his.

She agreed.

She didn't understand what Firouz was trying to do: IE build a better landing gear for his flying contraption that ddin't require water underneath the flyer.

They had an argument over magic and science.

Then they kissed.

Surprised they didn't speak for a good long time causing the crew to laugh at them whilst they worried for them.

Later on, both figured out that they had been attracted to one another, but Bryn's former crush on Sinbad haulted both of them until she had figured it all out.
