Bad correlation. No statistical proof. You were just lucky.

Bad correlation. No statistical proof. You were just lucky. Don't say this. I did all my best, put all my efforts on it. didn't sleep the night, practiced hard. and to your knowledge the exam was way hard and in our country, they really do their best in making it harder so don't say that on me. i did my best so i got what i deserve

Now that has proven correlation. No punishment and good marks has no correlation. But studying hard and doing your best is proved to correlate with good grades. So in that case, pat yourself on the back.

@sarah: first off : i wasn't mistaken in the exam itself to be punished. i was mistaken sometimes during practicing and that what made my teacher threaten to punish me. but as i have a pride i refused and worked hard to prove myself. this is the correlation between refusing to be punished and having good grades. refusing punishment worked in the positive way for me. second: when you have the ability to pat yourself on the back then i will. third: i just will repeat your eternal say "think before you act" and from me" because that can make the other misunderstood you"

alex: Well actually this expression simply comes from the friendly gesture of patting the back of someone who's done a good job. Ya know, the friendly pat that says: "hey, well done, lad".
