No, no kids of my own. But, as of two months ago, I have custodial guardianship of my niece for the last 4 years so....working full-time and school part-time was a terribly draining experience. She's no longer with me. Her guardianship was changed by the state b/c her mental needs were getting to be to much with only me and there not being enough hours in the day.

Aw, I bet you were sad to let her go. But, on the bright side, she is being watched more. And you have less stress on your back. And it would be easier for you to finish school.

You're right! It will be easier, and while I was sad to let her go, I am no longer spazzing out every few days and wanting to yelling my pillow when she had bad days.

How old was you niece? Sounds like she could be quite a headache.

Well, I got her when she was 4. Her mother just dropped her at my house one day and till this day I haven't seen nor heard from her since. That was 4 and a half years ago. My niece will be 9 on July the 3rd.

So she was very young. *imagines Rongar trying to catch her little niece as she runs all over the house in a fit* ;D

Hehehe...very funny.... Actually it was more like...***she throws herself on the floor, kicking and screaming bloody murder** while I'm standing to the side of her waiting for the tantrum to end. If that didn't work, **she'd yell and scream that I'm hurting her even though I'm still two feet from her** Then others times she could be an awesome kid. At 5 years old she was diagnosed as Bipolar....does that show how badly her mother screwed her up as a baby...

Oh wow! Bipolar! www.health.com/health/condition-article/0,,20188883,00.html She must have been a really big headache. *just remembers PMS so women are used to rapid mood changes* Well, where is she now? Who takes care of her?

Why thank you Doubar! No comments about the PMS....I actually had nightmares thinking of the future with her Hormones kicking in, in a few years. She's with the State at a home specifically designed to handle children with her special needs. They let her call once or twice a week depending on how good she is, and she's allowed th e-mail once every three days....depending on her moods. I haven't heard from her in about a week now...I can imagine her bad behavior to a T.

Poor little one. I imagine it to be hard for her as well. I mean, now as a child she probably isn't all that aware of her behaviour, but later on especially the depressed phases will influence her a big deal. Our lecturer said that while for the patients themselves the depressed times are the worst, for their family often enough the manic phases are almost unbearable. Although ... both of the two extremes are draining - for caretakers as well as for concerned persons. I personally thinnk that it's good that she's at such a home now. It doesn not only allow you to concentrate on your own life again, but also gives her the opportunity to learn to live with her conditions.
