Bryn settled in her room. The talk with Caipra had been interesting. There was so much for her to know. She wished she could have asked Caipra more, but it was getting late, and she did not want to hold up Caipra. She could talk more to Caipra in the morning.
She smiled at the thought dressed for bed. “Good night. Dermott,” she said as she perched Dermott on the stool.

It has been a long day. With all those revelations, and the landing, and the walks around the city. Dermott thought that his mistress needed some rest with all the things she get to ponder and analyze.
So, as soon as she leaned her head in the pillow he whishpered softly.
"Good night to you too Bryn. Sweet dreams".

She smiled at Dermott. "Thank you, sweetie."

The witching hour was best for Scratch to pay a little visit to a certain someone. Not Rumina, not Sinbad, but the girl with no memory. Now that she was asleep, and dreamlessly too, Scratch seized this opportunity to worm into Bryn's mind. That way even Dermott or anyone else won't be able to disturb their spiritual conversation.
A mist began to fall in the all-black wasteland. The grey fog soon turned red, and a sinister voice would be heard from the darkness.
"My my my, blissful, aren't we?" Scratch himself didn't show up in physical form, but his voice was very audible within Bryn's head.

Bryn was surprised to find herself among a grey then red fog. "Where am I?" she wondered. She then heard that sinister voice. "I think I know that voice." But, being uncertain, she called out, "Who's there?"

"Just someone you ought to know. Consider me a friend or not, I'll stick around." the voice continued to be heard and the speaker refused to show himself from the red mists.
"Do you truly enjoy living the pack of your boat?" the voice cryptically asked her.

Bryn raised her eyebrow. "Okay. Friend or foe, what does that supposed to mean? Or course I enjoy living on the Nomad. Why do you ask?"

"Well, let's just say......" the voice continued to speak instead of showing itself physically. Scratch enjoyed toying with the woman, especially that she is in the dark on her pedigree. At the same time, she barely knows him, other than he's Sinbad's nemesis, so he would also use that to his perverse advantage.
".... I'm merely looking out for your best interests, little lass. It'd be a shame to succumb to the sea's toxins, don't you agree?"

Bryn raised both eyebrows a little amused. "Really? Well, if you are so friendly, why don't you show yourself?"

An ominous chorus of goat's "Baaaahings" ensued, and following that, the speaker revealed himself in merely a sillhouette. The outline of the horns were visible, giving Bryn slight clues as to who she is talking to.
"Will you be afraid to see me? Or will you cast off all doubts and witness the presence of your dear savior?" questioned the mysterious entity.

"Afraid? Me? Of course not," Bryn chuckled. "I am a sorceress. I can defend myself."

"Defend yourself, huh?" the voice could not help but chuckle a bit. After a brief pause, a swarm of bats flew out of nowhere, and darted towards Bryn without any warning. They were not intending on swarming and eating her flesh, but rather frighten her on a whim.
"Well let's see you be brave to an unfriendly swarm!"

Bryn ducked and used her arms to cover her. "A...a....a," she exhaled while trying in frutility to dart the bats. "Go away, go away," she cried helplessly. She closed her eyes about to cry but suddenly opened them with fury. Her eyes glowed. "I said go away," she yelled. There was a bright flash, and the bats disappeared.
"Okay, no more games. Show yourself," she shouted at the silhouette.

"Okay then" the voice assertively replied at the frightened Bryn. "And a one.... and a two" Scratch playfully remarked and the silhouette of his formed into twin flames. They circled playfully around the naive elemental, and then formed together, once the flames were a few feet away from Bryn.
"And a tadadada!" the flames dissipated, and in its place stood Scratch himself.
"Ya miss me, Bryn?" he shrugged with a not-nice-but-nevertheless-good-moodish smirk

Her eyes grew wide as she recognized the figure. "You!" she spook in a harsh tone, narrowing her eyebrows.
