Natural or not, you have to have the magic within you. But there are different ways of this: Those who hold magic but do not have access to it unless they are trained in doing so (like Maeve who descended from normal people); and those who hold magic and can use it naturally like Bryn and Serendib. Both have access to their powers without having to be trained - the only training they need is to control their abilities. This is exactly how I see it. Natural or not, you must have the magic within yourself. In our respective character biographies, Dermott and I pointed out that our mother had some magical abilities, though very little and especially in the field of remedies and fore-sighting. Hence this is why Maeve has tidbits of magic within herself, just like her brother. However, the difference between the redhead and Bryn, for example, is that Maeve had to be trained to use it. She had to learn how to tap into it, how to channel it, whereas Bryn has access to it naturally. Hope this was helpful to you guys.

Rumina: More than just useful, Lass. And in fact I feel a little ashamed that none of us - well, especially I who has been here ever since - remembered what you and Dermott had written in your bios. So at least for you two the whole thing is settled and I personally would go with this - i.e. that the magic has to be already part of oneself - for all poeple who can use magic in the world of AoS.

Hey, *nudges the giant* wipe that shame off! You're like, the one who keeps most track of everythin' goin' on 'round here! You can't seriously remember every little detail in all the bios. And magic is a tortuous and complex field, and very important in the show so it's normal to have some clarifications once in a while.
