I was saying that I didn't know why other countries are letting things rebuild themselves without to much nosying around, and why the American government seems to think more money that we don't have (at least as I've been told) will make things better.

Because we have this arrogant attitude that we are the best in the world and can just print more money. After all, the U.S. dollar is the most widely held currency in the world.

President Reagan, or was it Nixon, dropped the gold standard, so our currency is not backed by gold anymore.

I know...what I mean is that from what I've heard, is that most of the world leaders are inventing the money. I think I heard an accounting friend of mine using the words... "We are using ghosts to pay our children's future."

It sounds okay, but I was never a really good fan of his work.

Totally classifies as cool. Everything space-related is totally fascinating. I remember that one solar eclipse we had here years back, I guess I was ... dunno 13 or something at the time. It was no full eclips here, but in south German it was, I think. And even at my place it went twilight-y for a while at mid day which was weird. Unfortunately it was all cloudy and we didn´t even see the sun.

*is just popping in* Oh yeah. I've been in Austria back then. We had total eclipse there and ... wow, that was so cool. It was totally cloudy that day but right in time the sky opened and we were able to see the whole thing. So very cool it had been!

I just stumbled upon an article about this on my German mail provider´s homepage. But I googled and it´s in the news on English pages, too. *thinks that´s rather interesting* www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,534355,00.html
