I don´t buy much online, mostly just ink refills and stuff from amazon. And for that, my bank card works, too.

*scratches head* Oh. apparently bank card and debit card is indeed the same. Wasn´t aware of that. Well, that´s enough for me. I never needed a credit card until now, the only exception beingn when I want to pay in advance for a youth hostel booking abroad and for that I have friends to help me out.

So you got a credit card? And I guess that with a small income, you can get by with a dept card. But as your income grows, the more you can lose if someone gets access to your bank account.

I do not have a credit card, no. Until last year when I still was a trainee, my income was still too low for it and even now I don´t see much use in it actually, so I guess I won´t be getting one in the near future. Not many people here have credit cards, it´s mostly a business people thing here.

Okay, just beware the risks. And identity theft may not be as big in Germany yet as it is here.
