How many unnamed crew does he actually have? Because that number seems to vary. It is really truth, MJ. For example, in the Beast of Dark it looked that the crew has more than twenty men at least. On the other hand, when Fontassel in The Siren's Song sent Rongar with the rest of the crew to find the trident of Poseidon, there were only six men in the longboat (including Rongar) maximally.

Aye, true that! Sometimes it appears like the crew is rather large and you wonder where all these people are supposed to sleep, and then again there so few men you wonder how they keep the Nomad going in the first place.

I am not an expert at sailing but I would guess that a bigger number of men would be necessary for the service on the board of the ship of similar proportions; around twenty-five men would be my guess. Which brings us back to the question where they all sleep? The ship does not seem to be so big in the TV series, so we must imagine that some room is there for these minor crewmen, although never seen.

On the subject of ship size, the Nomad looks to be an Arabian/Indian Dhow. There is no real archeological remains to get a real life dimensions, what is known are from Roman, Indian, Arabian writings and observations of such things. As far as I can tell. The biggest, as I might assume the Nomad is, holds about 30 people max. The smallest ship can be manned by 12. DhowBut they were made for shallow trips through the 7 Great Seas or hugging the coastlines. As such, these are short trips and most sailors slept in one large room with hammocks. The Captain and First Officer usually only had rooms. There was always one open for a wealthy guest (Maeve's/Bryn's room?). In any case, I think the Nomad, for real life measurements was bigger than the dhow, but smaller than the Galley ships. In this instance, the Galley ship is also a good contender for the Nomad. The Galley can hold as few as 30 and up to 100 max, as a Nomad example. The larger Galley can hold much more. As such, a Galley sized Nomad could potentially have rooms for ALL the main crew, Sinbad, Doubar, Maeve, Bryn, Firouz, and Rongar, and still have plenty of space for guests AND a large dormitory-like situation for the rest of the crew. ancient ships

On the other hand, is not more probable that he left some men on the board as well? I mean, if Rongar and the others did not return, how would he be able to control the ship alone (or only with the captured four crewmen)? But maybe he did not think about it at all, he was a madman in the end.
