lol you guys are funny and this screen caps look from there but how ironic the actress of the sourceress from beastmaster tv series is the actress of alana. And you guys are funny. I love double trouble eppi, especially the part where dim dim's wife says:"stop fighting like a married couple you two". and sinbad is all like:"married t her"*laughs*. and maeve is like:"oh like you are such a good catc" lol that was hillerious. The photos are funny

Aye, I think you're right Firouz! The first one definitely looks like the Isle of Bliss when he says to Maeve about Doubar's attention toward Alana "He's just showing her some good will!" And I agree with the second one being in Double Trouble! It's probably from the beginning when they're playing "Rolling ball and falling dragons"!!! You're right 'bout that, my dear. Those are the ones. ;D OldSerendib: Yeah. Almost fell off the chair I was sitting at when I discovered Alana in that beastmaster series. x) |

What do you mean she was chosen to play Maeve before Jackie came along? I wonder if she could have played Maeve in Season II. She does look a little like Jackie.

I've read about this on an old fan page years ago. But thinking of it now, it may have been just a speculation because I didn't find the same rumor elesewhere  . I've searched for the same site, but I guess it's not on line anymore , too long ago I suppose. Anyway, I think it's true that she wanted to be Maeve, but they made her play Alana instead. If she would have played Maeve I guess the show could have been totally different. The celtic sorceress could have been......a norse sorceress ;D ;D |

I´m glad she didn´t play Maeve. She would´ve fit the image of the second season maybe with a more rougish romance-novel-cover Sinbad we had there, but she wouldn´t have fitted with cute boyish season I Sinbad. *cuddles cute boyish season I Sinbad*

Well, she could have tried. Getting rid of Maeve and turning darker was a big fall of the show.

Definitely, yes.
I still wonder though what I would have preferred: another season with another actress or no second season at all. As I see it there was a nice chemistry between Zen and Jacky, I´m nots sure whether replacing any of the two would have worked at all.

The character and the actress are two different things. A good actress can play any roll. For Zen, since Sinbad is human, it would not be logical for another actor to play him. But for Jackie, since Maeve is a sorceress (or sorceress apprentice *imagines Maeve rolling her eyes and glaring at him), it would be fine for another actress to play Maeve, as long as there is a good explanation for the change in looks.
Having Maeve being taken away into another dimension and having Sinbad suffer has haunted me for years.

In beastmaster, Firouz she wasn't evil, miss understood, childish at times, wild, a little annoying at times but evil? no. apearetion is evil though but she didn't play apearetion there so she was the good one.
That would be strange but interesting to see her as maeve. Yet Jackie more fits the part though. Yet i am curious how would it be like if she played the character though. I knew the actress before Sinbad, i even knew Jackie before Sinbad.
