thinking back in "still life" i think the men wanted to keep maeve aboard to because, in the words of maeve, "using chivarly against me" and now in this episode they let Bryn off on her own. Well, that´s cause he luuurves Maeve.

@thea: *nods eagerly* Aya, that's just what I meant. With Maeve they have been rather over-protective and Bryn they just let stay there on this island with that boy who unconsciouly summones a monster? That's way off. *shakes head at story writers* @sinbad: *grins* What? He behaved like that in S2, didn't he? ;D But well, things do change. And I'm fairly positive that this captain (at least here on DL) is getting rid of this nasty little attitude rather swiftly. *pats poor little emo-Sinbad's head* ;D @kriss: *is all curious now* Would you share it in a pm? ;D

Good episode, one of my favorite from this season.
I like the common attack of the crew at the monster, not only Sinbad and other main characters but the rest of sailors, because usually they are there only for dying or for staying somewhere without any action. I thought about it several times, but during the first season main characters went to the cities and villages alone, in the second season sometimes somebody went with them, but what the rest of the sailors were doing at this time on the board of the ship? They are only waiting if the main characters bring some money or food back? They do not want to enjoy the beauty of landscape or something similar? (If I remember the relaxation of the crew during the Trickster for example, they were celebrating the successful business, they are drinking and eating and the rest of the poor sailors is on the board? Or when the crew were the visitors by Vincenzo?)
I like the atmosphere there, we felt that something bad is there but it was not clear for some time what it is.
I was not sure in which relationship with the crew was the crewman Nesthar, who did troubles the whole time, a few sailors died because of him, if i understood correctly he was extra hired only for this one specific voyage and he was angry because he blamed the crew from delaying of sailing? He had the problem with the authority of the captain obviously.
I must say that i agree that the leaving Bryn there was really strange. Maybe they thought that Mutaro did not harm her, when he was clearly in love of Bryn, but he was still the mentally unstable teenager and he had not control about this ability. It is not important if Sinbad loves Bryn, i do not believe if there was a woman instead of Mutaro and she was in love of Doubar or Firouz and one of them decided to stay here that he would have simply accepted it. And the lack of interest about Bryn from the rest of the crew... It sounds familiar to me. And I can not imagine that something similar would happen if Maeve was in a similar situation but probably yes, if the same screenwriter wrote it. The big deviation in the characters of our heroes, very out of characters.
And the discussion about the outfits of our ladies. I liked the Maeve's outfit most. Yes it is sure that the trousers would be preferable for the work on the board but it was the decoy for men and in this sense it worked for me. Honestly, her beautiful legs excelled in this sexy outfit. (I do not want to sound as a hog, i only say the truth.) From Rumina's outfits i prefer most her outfit from the last episode, it was beautiful. And the second season, there were a few quite nice women in some episodes, but Rumina and Maeve had something more: the depth, the charisma, they were interesting characters and the beautiful women simultaneously. I can not say the same thing about these women. Bryn was the very attractive woman but for me is behind Maeve and Rumina.
