pennyanna posted the link to a very interesting fic on her tumblr. It's written from Bryn's POV but focuses on Sinbad and deals with the S2 in a very restlistic way IMO. Really think it's worth a read. archiveofourown.org/works/174773

I just visited the steam forums and realized that a new fic has been posted there this year. O.o I must admit that I've never stopped by at that place much, but seeing we're about to create a real link section I thought I should give it a go. And wooha, the author's fireland ... who surely is the one who created an account here quite some time ago (but sadly never logged in much ). So for those who want to give it a try: www.network54.com/Forum/32701/It seems to be a rather interesting plot (though I must admit I only read ch1 so far x) ). So have fun reading! Lol yes it's my fic, I had never seen it has been discussed here Thanks for your nice comments But there won't be more, unfortunately. My muse has died, for this story. Doubar : I will sure take a look at this fic you're talking about. I have rarely read fics that were written in Bryn's point of view. Most forums I used to read were M/S oriented It's a lovely idea indeed.

Fireland: ;D ;D ;D Btw.: So happy to see you're now part of the DL crew! Curiously enough this fic is M/S centred, too. It's just done in another way. Little warning though: it's not a too happy fic, but rather unique and realistic I think.

Hmm I really need to edit this untitled fic I had forgotton about. Stupid Network 54 forum that doesn't allow punctuations *sighs*.
I could remove the steam part and post it here, once I'm done editing it.

I finally got around to reading Pennyanna's fic; nice portrayal of Sinbad's reasoning for loosing himself in female flesh.
For me, if I had been writing it or even offering beta, I would have had to ask her if having a close female friend, who obviously likes/loves Sinbad, be a good choice to offer comfort if and when Sinbad either begins to heal or Maeve returned (if the stories would have gone that far).
That story seemed to open a new series just on the mental and emotional struggles Sinbad, Bryn, and perhaps Maeve would have to go through to....
Don't get me wrong, it was great and I liked it! The pain was real and I truly felt badly for both Sinbad and Bryn; but I think I pitied Bryn more...
willing to do that for Sinbad...
knwoing that Maeve was right there and more than likely it'd be her name on his lips and not Bryn's....
Seems like she was setting them all up for a world of hurt....

I totally agree on the last part of your message, when you said you pitied Bryn. That's also why I said in the Season 2 question thread that I couldn't imagine Bryn picking up the pieces. I felt the pain in this fic, and it is truly an amazing fic for it squeezed my heart reading it, because it felt so real. However, it saddens me that Bryn would lower herself like that, to be just ''the chick on the side''. I think she deserves better, and she's stronger than that. That being said, every fic is a universe of its own. Sometimes it purposedly explores different paths than most of the fandom would describe as being ''AoS-ly correct.'' I'm thinking about my own fic on the steam forum where Firouz seduces Maeve ... it's really just a momentarily, fictional spin-off, that really couldn't happen in AoS (my POV). It's somehow teasing the reader, even if the teasing is a painful one because it involves painful feelings. So, depending on the point of view, this fic is either great, for the emotions and pain the reader can actually feel while reading this, or it is a bit off because it doesn't fit what we would expect of Bryn. Yet again, it could be the fic's greatest strength, because it startles us. I think it's what makes a talented author, when we finish our reading with a burst of emotion (joy, sadness, anger, hurt, fear...)

I can do nothing but agree on everything you two said. I felt exactly the same things - I was in awe of how alive the fic was, how real the pictures seemed to be and how it touched me deeply in a way as that I could feel both characters pain just from reading the lines. However, I came to the same conclusion: I pitied Bryn just a bit more than I did Sinbad because to me, in some way, she seemed even more desperate than he was. She let herself be used, while Sinbad used her to forget. It's all but what I would expect from her, but just like you said, Fire: maybe that's even what's the strength of this fic. It emphasizes on both characters' pain to a level that maybe most fans would consider as OOC and yet it has a remarkable impact on the reader and may make them understand S2 better.

@fire: OOC means "out of character". Mala: Oh gosh, that's awesome! Will r&r as soon as I can.

I'm trying to be a good student, but I can't keep myself from being talkative (and curious) because there are a lot of new things here. I must finish my task as soon as I can and then I'll have time to read them. But now, I must come back to my project. *sighs* 4 weeks without weekend

Awww... *hugs Ban* Just take it easy. The fics aren't going anywhere. Uni definitely is more important these days. I'm so sorry though you're having such a tough time! But I'm sure it'll be worth the trouble.
