Because Manche asked for it, here's the list I once created and which was meant to include all the little Doubar/Bryn moments that could well be taken as a hint towards them harbouring feelings for each other. I realize most of that stuff can just as easily be seen as nothing but friendship (which it most definitely was intended to be), still personally I enjoy them all.
So prepare for them moments and forgive me my shippiness. That list was created when I was in the middle of my crazy-about-them-phase. So yeah, I was a little crazy back then.
S02E01: The Sacrifice:
• Not much here apart the Doubar has this big smile on his face when at the end it becomes clear that Bryn will stay part of their crew
S02E02: Return of the Ronin:
• When the Demons attack the village and Doubar gets knocked out - one of the Demons raising his sword, aiming to kill him - Bryn saves him with her magic.
This is ep2 and Bryn has near to no control over her powers unless she’s emotionally involved. And I mean, really involved.
If you like you can compare this to a scene in “Invaders”. There, Sinbad is out on the sea with a longboat and the aliens attack him. Bryn tries to help with her powers but fails to summon them and save the captain. Interesting thing that.
• Doubar asking for Bryn’s opinion when the crew (minus Sinbad and Tetsu who already left to get the magical weapons) discuss what to do about the demon that obviously stayed in the village. He mentions that she has “a sixth sense about this kind of stuff” but really, when did he ever ask for magical input on his plans? Plus: Take notice of how he addresses her. Sounds rather gentle, and very much like they feel easy around each other right from the start.
• In the crew’s next scene (after Tetsu and Sinbad fight off the evil toilet paper) Bryn first wanders around in the house and then sits down next to Doubar and when Firouz then starts to wonder about the number 7 Doubar supports their pondering/reasoning. O.o When Bryn begins to mention other myths, he even adds the Seven Sins to that as if was the most natural thing on earth. But in fact, in S1 we usually saw him complain about any mystical and magical theories or pondering on them (I guess we can assume Maeve has her share in this change of thinking, but still It seemed exceptional to me).
S02E03: Heart and Soul:
• When Bryn cries out in pain, although he’s at the other side, having a hold on the horse, Doubar immediately lets go and goes to her, wearing a rather worried look on his face. Of course, Sinbad looks roughly the same though with him it seems to be more alertness to possible danger. Also the captain dismisses the pain, while Doubar then reasons with him so that they take a rest.
• It’s really hard to make out, but telling from the bright sleeve that seems to have faint stripes on it, it seems to me that , as they make camp, Bryn is lying next to Doubar (random thought: no wonder she cannot sleep, that’s guys’ snoring really loudly )
• When the crew meet the baron and Sinbad signals them to shed their swords, Bryn first briefly looks to her left and with this at Doubar as if checking on what he does before she, too, puts away her weapon (and that’s although Sinbad gave the order to).
• the following will actually happen quite often during the season: as Doubar realizes his strength won’t get him/them out of this, he relies on Bryn to save the day
• And then comes the whole dungeon thing. I realize that the intention might simply be to show that Bryn is a friend and a valued member of the crew, protected by her new family but really… can you get more shippy than what we get to see there?
Doubar is constantly frightened for Bryn, even practically sacrifices himself for her while the guard in turn seems well aware that the easiest way to have the 1st mate give in is to endanger Bryn. I am aware you can just as well interpret this all as a sibling-like relationship, with Doubar just really feeling protective like he did with Maeve. But somehow that’s different. It seems different to me at last.
S02E04: Voyage to Hell:
• When they arrive in hell, after the first soul passes them by, a second comes and makes them duck. You need to watch closely but as it passes Doubar and Bryn (who stand next to each other) you can see that Bryn’s right arm is raised to be behind Doubar’s back – right as if she had wanted to protect him.
S02E08: The Beast of Basra:
• When Firouz and Bryn come back from checking on the lightly wounded Mal, Bryn stops next to Doubar although she could have also gone to join Firouz at Sinbad’s side
• When Bryn explains that the werewolf is human and Doubar looks up to her because she started to speak, she replies his gaze although she was initially talking to Firouz and Sinbad, explaining what she knew
• A minor something, but Bryn notices right away that Doubar is hurt.
• When the crew go out for their second hunt, Bryn – again – positions herself right next to Doubar and not Sinbad. And when they leave, Doubar refusing to take the garlic, her gaze is on him and at least to me she looks worried.
• As Doubar changes into a werewolf, Bryn instantly feels that “something is wrong, very wrong”. In our dubbing she describes it even better. She says: “Something changed. Completely changed.” I add this one for you because to me it bears a nice meaning.
Bryn feels the shift although Doubar has never been described as important in the battle between good or evil (meaning: the shift cannot be that dramatic concerning the overall balance between the two forces), which at least to me means that she must be attuned to his aura.
In addition to this: while usually she only has vague feelings of threat, in that very moment she clearly can tell that Doubar is in danger. It is arguable that this implies she has a strong emotional connection to him – of whatever kind you want this one to be.
• Out of all the crew, Bryn is the only one who refuses to give up on Doubar. While the others plan on killing him, she seeks Yaga hoping that he might be able to help
• Although it’s impolite to stare at a woman’s chest I know – just this once: do it. You can see Bryn’s agitated breathing as Yaga tells his story. That even increases when the healer mentiones that Doubar might be freed by the blade. Honestly, although she barely knows him she’s more distressed than any other of the crew.
• Notice how Yaga nods at her, and how – only after he saw her reaction to his words – he indeed tells of another way. And then his eyes never leave her face as he explains to her how the curse can be lifted. He says:
“He may be saved by the touch of a channeler of pure good. One who would sacrifice anything to safe the victim’s soul. One, whose power is bright enough to lead Doubar’s soul out of the darkness of the curse.”
Saving a cursed one obviously is a difficult and also most dangerous task. The savior must be willing to risk their own life, maybe even their own soul, to free the other from the curse. No one would do this for a random person. And most would not do it for a normal friend. The only ones you would do this for are your loved ones, and friends you call your family. In short: people you love, in one or the other way.
• Bryn immediately goes after Doubar, without even giving it a second thought.
• As Bryn encounters the werewolf-Doubar, although she obviously is scared and doubtful, she tries to connect with him. At no other point did she do that in the series – not even when Sinbad was under Kundalini’s curse.
S02E09: The Passengers
• Doubar obviously feels most annoyed by the new passengers’ presence. And that’s right after Kundalini’s guard made that comment about Bryn. Sinbad obviously doesn’t take much notice of that as he seems to be more focused on the money they get from this deal, but just for once Doubar doesn’t seem to care much about the same .
• As the crew secretly meet and discuss about what to do, and Doubar and Rongar are about to just storm off and imprison the passengers, Bryn sharply tells him to stop. And Doubar doesn’t even get grumpy after that. He just looks at her and asks what options they have. Now imagine Maeve had done that, or anyone else, really. That man has a soft spot for the petite brunette. Simple as that.
• At the same time, when Bryn reasons with Doubar it’s rather obvious how important it is to her that he agrees.
S02E13: A City under Plague:
• That scene when they’re chained below deck. Seriously, apart from Sinbad and Maeve, when did AoS ever show someone bickering like this?
Doubar: Rongar, how many did you hear up above?
Rongar: *signs*
Doubar: That makes only three.
Bryn: *annoyed* If you didn’t notice, we’re chained. We just hope they bring Firouz and Sinbad back and let us leave.
Doubar: *hisses* In case you didn’t notice, these guys aren’t exactly escorts. (…)
Bryn: *gives in* You’re right. What do you have in mind?
Doubar: *pouts defiantly* I’m thinking about it.
Bryn: *sighs*
Haha, plus Bryn seems to be the only one, too, who can make Doubar put on this adorable pouting-little-boy-face.
• When Doubar, Rongar and Bryn walk into the city they have a look around and it’s easy to see something’s wrong. Bryn voices that out the first; however, all she does say is Doubar’s name. She doesn’t address Rongar and she doesn’t say more than the first mate’s name either – right as if she would expect him to get what she’s thinking anyway.
• Before the three of them split up, Doubar turns to Bryn and softly says “be careful”. In our dub he’s clearly addressing both, Rongar and Bryn, however, the way he says it in the original version sounds more like he does indeed only mean Bryn. Because right after he nods at Rongar separately as if to say “take care, see you then”
• Have a good look: as Doubar tells Bryn to be careful, she lifts her right hand and touches his left lower arm. I realize this gesture is just to reassure him, still it speaks of familiarity between those two
• You can actually see that in many eps: whenever Sinbad is occupied otherwise, Bryn mostly walks next to Doubar. When you watch the end of this ep, you will see that this is the case here as well.
• Just watch Bryn and Doubar while they watch Firouz and Velda. They don’t only have these huge amused grins on their face, but they’re also sharing a glance twice. A glance that looks a lot like they knew exactly what the other was thinking right then, and they share this moment of fun.
S02E16: Gryphon’s Tale:
• Just a little goodie: Doubar makes Bryn laugh heartily.
• When they are trying to set the baby gryphon free, Rongar and Bryn get assaulted by another dozen soldiers and after Firouz fires off his Bazooka-thing, Doubar comes running up the stairs, heroically getting rid of two soldiers at once and then – without even glancing at Rongar – grumbles at Bryn that he couldn’t let her out of his sight for a minute. Sounds any familiar to anybody? Didn’t Sinbad accuse Maeve of the same thing at some point? Or is that just my head-canon?
S02E17: Beast of the Dark:
• When Sinbad decides they leave the island and that nobody is to tell Mutaro of that, it’s Doubar who asks for what to do with Bryn. When his brother says she’ll get to know right before leaving he mentions how sad she will be to leave the boy behind and looks truly sorry for her while Sinbad merely says that it’s the only way.
S02E18 Survival Run:
• When the Nomad gets attacked and that metal thingie hits Bryn on the head, sending her down to the floor unconscious, although Firouz and Sinbad both take notice of it and are obviously worried for their friend, neither of them goes to check on her until they are out of reach of the fire. I for one think this is because someone already went to Bryn’s aid (otherwise at least Firouz would have rushed to her side, wouldn’t he?). So they make sure to escape the fire first. Then, when they finally are safe and Firouz leaves to check on Bryn, Sinbad following him shortly after, we see Doubar supporting her while Firouz’ hands are more in the air /loosely placed on her arm. I therefore reckon it was Doubar who immediately rushed to Bryn’s side when she got hurt and tended to her when the other two stayed at the tiller.
• When the guys get in town to buy the stuff for the ‘tank’ Doubar and Bryn just seem to stroll around while Firouz and Rongar obviously do all the work.
S02E21: The Guardians:
• When Bryn hands Sinbad the baby and says she plans to go bathe, as she says the latter she first looks to her right (where the guys are, and Doubar’s at the far right, really) and then to Sinbad; and when she actually says she’d appreciate some privacy she looks back to the right again; and while the guys only smile good-naturedly/slighty amused , Doubar’s laughing this weird laugh while Bryn has this challenging look on her face… not gonna interpret that one, really. Just mention it and leave the rest for you to interpret. . No, honestly, I guess the real innuendo of this scene was to just have the crew have fun with Sinbad being totally dumbstruck about being left to handle the baby (we did discuss that before after all), or maybe even a slight hint towards a possible S/B pairing; however one thing still can’t be denied if you ask me: Doubar and Bryn are without any doubt very close to each other, sharing jokes and getting the other’s hints.
The Book of Before:
• When the druids attack the first time and Doubar falls from that wagon, Bryn cries/calls his name and even lets go of the horses before running into his direction
The Invaders:
• When Sinbad tries to reach the Nomad in the longboat and he gets attacked by the aliens, Bryn briefly looks back at Doubar being clearly distressed. Now it’s not the being distressed about Sinbad thing I’m aiming at, but how she automatically looks up at Doubar in that moment (she could have also sought Rongar ‘s gaze as he was right behind her as well; however, she didn’t). To me it seems like when she’s unsure of something (herself or the situation) unknowingly she seeks Doubar’s presence and his opinion on this.
• Though there’s not been much chance of anyone else doing that: but again it’s Doubar who asks her for help. And without even thinking about it, she says she will try. She could have done so before however, she does only try after Doubar asks her to.
Castle Keep
• When Doubar is reunited with the other four and that barkeeper says he warned the sailors, Doubar does half-snap at him in his typical manor. But then, right after, when he turns to Bryn telling her that they could need some magic there, his voice gets all soft and almost even gentle
-> To my knowledge the only other time he used an equally soft voice was when he spoke to Sinbad during “The Bully”. Now one might interpret this as a sign that he rather looks upon Bryn like a little sister, but whereas in the Bully it was all about life-changing events, here he’s just asking her to use her magic. Nothing more. And still he uses that voice which he seems to have reserved only for those he cares about the most.
• And once again, when his powers are limited, he relies on Bryn.
• While Firouz is mumbling that it was nothing and Doubar’s telling him to “spill it”, Bryn’s gaze is lying entirely on Doubar before finally it shifts to lie on the inventor as he explains his idea
• The long glance Doubar and Bryn share as Firouz walks off babbling and Doubar explains that the scientist works best under pressure.
Ali Rashid and the Thieves:
• When the crew – minus Rongar but plus Shirez – search for Rongar, after they have left the road, you can see that Bryn and Doubar are walking next to each other again
• A minor something: when Doubar discovers the entrance to the caves, he first calls Bryn and then Firouz
• When Ali Rashid captures the crew and asks Bryn where Sinbad is, she first briefly looks to Doubar and then Firouz before she decides not to tell him.
• It starts getting repetitive but as Ali Rashid attacks Sinbad with his magical sword, Doubar cries for Bryn to help and although she says she’s not sure she can do it, he pushes her to
Hell House
• I love the look Bryn gives Doubar before she leaves for the market right in the first scene. It literally says “serves you right” – but in a teasing and good-natured way.
Well, as I said, I never completed the list. And now I actually hope that none of the cast with ever stumble across this thread because I am aware this pairing isn't canon and my list mildly embarassing therefor. Plus, I know I am biased and maybe you guys could list a Firouz/Bryn or Dermott/Bryn moment for each Doubar/Bryn one I found, but... well, yeah. Younger me still reveled in all those scenes she found.
So prepare for them moments and forgive me my shippiness. That list was created when I was in the middle of my crazy-about-them-phase. So yeah, I was a little crazy back then.

Plus, I know I am biased and maybe you guys could list a Firouz/Bryn or Dermott/Bryn moment for each Doubar/Bryn one I found, but... well, yeah. Younger me still reveled in all those scenes she found.
