Oh, I wouldn't be so sure about that. We all got our moments of doubt, if we didn't we would all run around telling everyone how awesome we are - which quite obviously we don't do. So this said, comparisons between people who are friends are never a good idea imho, unless both parties are really totally indifferent about it. It can only lead to hurt feelings, as you said - on both sides (and believe me, I bruise easily as well).
So yeah, just wanted to say that.
Oh, and MJ, don't feel ashamed. I know well what it's like feeling lazy. I feel like that way too often, really. >.> And don't worry, it's not like I was awake that long each and every day. But sometimes I suffer from acute appearances of insomnia so when I saw you ask whether I could post it it really was no big deal to do it.
@teti: I really hope your mum is better now!!! *hugs* And thanx so much for always taking the time to r&r. It's awesome to get to know what others think about this crazy little game.
And I'm super, super happy you like the tags so far.
In fact, the nightmare scene has been in my head for quite long already, but I could never be bothered to write it down. That was, until the game gave me a frame to put it into and an opportunity to write it down. I really like the idea of Bryn having remnants of memories and just like I said to Ban, I had once also pondered about writing a story of her finding out who she really is. But that thing would have to be huge as an important topic as this one just can't be rushed imo, so I have never found the nerve to start on such thing. But it's nice to see the idea with the nightmares is being appreciated.
Ehi, and true that, eh? Her thinking of Doubar first is quite a progression, right? Although, she would have almost chickened out again had Doubar not awoken. xP But ya know, that's just what I see in them. I think she might have sought either Dermott, Doubar or Sinbad even in the show. She was closest to those three so I think that's where she would have gone. But with Dermott and Sinbad having Maeve back I think she instinctively would rather rely on the one person she can have for herself so to speak - shipping or no shipping.
Haha, but really, you can't see Sinbad teasing Doubar? That's funny, because I can totally see him doing that (always in a good natured way of course)! ;D
Now, as for the latest chapter: Yeah, well, in my books Bryn isn't as confident in herself as I guess she is in your eyes. She is strong yes, much stronger than she thinks, but the Bryn I see has one major trait in common with Maeve: they doubt themselves too much. And I think the brunette does this even more profoundly than Maeve. Because she doesn't know who she really is, because her magic just won't work like she'd want it to, because she had to undergo being unconsciously compared to Maeve who in her eyes must have been something like Wonder Woman and... because it's just more common for calm and introverted people like Bryn seems to be most of the time (not counting the scenes in which she is actually rather kickass) to lack a bit of confidence.
Plus, if you have a closer look at things, she doesn't even doubt herself too much, or her worth or anything. She just feels incredibly bad because Doubar's taking all the teasing for her when it was her who sought him out. Without her nightly trip to him he would not have to endure all this poking, and I guess she just feels a bit guilty about that.
Oh, and yup, of course in addition to all this there's always the love-is-different thing. Just take Sinbad for example. He's witty, smug, sometimes full of himself... but when it comes to Maeve he gets all cautious and careful and almost even shy. I guess there's just people who are always strong and easy about everything, those who are insecure about everything and those (most poeple actually would belong in this third category I think) who are confident and strong in one situation but insecure and doubtful in the other.
Aaanyhow. So as for why Doubar was amused. That's easy to answer: because he finds it to be incredibly cute that Bryn feels so bad for him and what she did. ;D Doubar really doesn't mind it at all. In his eyes she's all worth it and more, so seeing her ponder about it so much and even apologize for something she totally would not have to be sorry for amuses him. Or, at least, it amuses my inner Doubar. ^^
Whoot, whoot, and yup. Second kiss. I couldn't help myself.
;D
Again, thanx for reading and reviewing, dear.
Awww, glad you see it like that.
Well, it would be possible, wouldn't it?
Because there were quite some hints towards Doubar really being like this.
But you know, sometimes I just wonder whether it's not just our female view on him that makes him be such a teddy bear and generally wonderful person in our eyes. Maybe, if looked upon my a male viewer, Doubar would be just the typical jolly sailor who we have also seen quite a lot of. Which is also why I wonder what George would have to say. And maybe - or rather most likely - the truth (if we can speak of such, Doubar is a fictional char after all xD ) is just somewhere in between.
Hum, I must say, you got a point there. When feelings change from friendship to love it could indeed well be that there's also a new sense of self-consciousness adding to your emotions. Because suddenly you see the other with different eyes, and want them to think the best of you. But then again, a ship doesn't leave you with much privacy anyway so it's hard to hide anything from other other. Suddenly wishing to appear at your best isn't of much use when the other has already seen you with ugly hair when being ill or stuff like that. *scratches chin* Uh well. Who knows. I guess both ways are a probability.
@ban: Aw, yeah, it would indeed be nice of one day I got around to writing that story, wouldn't it? But it'd be such a large project, I really don't know if I can do that.
It'd need a lot of patience in-character-work to develop the plot in a sensible manner. It'd be a huge project indeed. Ah well, but who knows? Maybe one day I will just feel I am up to trying. And it's good to know that there'd already be someone interested in it then.
And now, to you, too, a super big thank you for always taking the time to r&r. It really means so much to know you enjoy the game.
Ehi, it's quite true, isn't it, that the story reached a new level with this. I guess that's my fault really. I just couldn't restrain myself. These two just are too cute, really. ;D ;D
Ow and right, she worried a little too much, eh? But I just saw it would fit her that moment, considering she'd be in a bit of an emotional turmoil what with suddenly having someone to court her like Doubar does and suddenly being in the centre of attention (thanx to the town-thing and now her sleeping arrangements). But with Doubar having told her what he did, the worries have decreased tremendously.
Looool. Haha, and aye, same here. I guess ANY female friend would tease poor Bryn to no end. Just like ANY female friend would tease Maeve if it was the other way round. ;D
