Wow, so it's December the 14th again. And since it's 2012 this means that we got our 4th anniversary today.
When, four years ago, Nili asked in one of her author's notes whether someone was interested in participating in an AoS-rpg I was intrigued even though I didn't have a clue what a rpg was at all. xD Nili explained it to me and I thought it was a cool thing to try out, especially as there were only so few active sites left. And it didn't take long for further members to filter in. Now, so many years later, most of our first members are still around and we have gathered so many new ones.
Who would have thought at the beginning that we'd still be here today? Who would've thought we'd be so many? Of course we hoped, but seeing other sites fall into silence we knew of the possibility that this might only be a dream.
In the years online Distant Lands has evolved to be one of the most active places in the new fandom. From a mere rpg-board we have turned into a general place for fans to gather - a place where they can meet and chat - a place for creativity and imagination.
And I hope that we will celebrate many more anniversaries together.

P.S.: To all guests who are stopping by: I realize that in most of my posts that address you I failed to mention that we are always welcoming to new members. So if you like what you've seen thus far and would enjoy to get in touch with us, don't hesitate to say hello and become a member. Membership is free and we're always happy to gather the remaining fans of this lovely show.

But you all are the proof that it's not and that the fandom is still alive.

May the winds continue to guide this ship well.
