Hello guys! I'm writing here because I'd love to share my opinions on Serendib's start I talked to Rongar via PM and he said that he's super tired and that he won't wake uo unless it's super important. So these are the options that came to my mind: Serendib overhear at breakfast time someone talking about the crew members, she understands that those guys are the nomad's crew and crashes against Rongar's door to wake him up (Our moor might not be so happy about that) Or, she's not totally in control of her magic, and she lets a spell slip from her fingers (or in alternative she uses magic to warm up her tea ) some bounty hunter sees her, ans thinks he can capture and sell her, and as soon as she sniffs danger, she tries to go back to her room, to lock herself up there. But in the rush of being followed by this stranger, she mistakes the floor and he catches her in front of Rongar's door and the fight wakes him up. If you have other suggestions, please tell me, and I also have some questions about the playing itself, who's willing to answer them?

Aaaaah, sorry there for replying so late! I've been rather busy lately. *.* Aw, so Rongar's too tired to participate unless someone/something's waking him? That's a pity but understandable. He's just made a double shift if I remember right and stayed up all night. So when considering that in the play it's still early morning I can well see why he won't wake up unless there's something really important happening. So let's see where that leaves us. To be honest, I like both your ideas. ;D At first I was a bit skeptical about the bounty hunter thing, simply because we just had Caipra conceal an outburst of Bryn's magic so having another friend of the crew make her powers be obvious might be quite troublesome. On the other hand it might come in just wonderfull handy for a plot that is just about to be developed, but I would have to ask someone else for that, too. ^^ In any case, if you were to go with the bounty hunter thing I would opt for not making a too big fuzz in the tavern. Kriss (the character) is already pretty annoyed thanx to the events of the previous evening so having someone else cause troubles might not be the best of all ideas. Lol. On the other hand I guess a bounty hunter would not want to catch everyone's attention anyway. He/She could thus follow Serendib when she goes back upstairs and where she's alone and out of sight, and then attack her. Firouz didn't lock the door if I am correct so Serendib should have an easy time getting into Rongar's room (maybe while running away from the hunter she tries to hide and that's the first [and only?] open door that she finds. Then either she could wake Rongar or (maybe even better than that) the incoming hunter and her struggling against him/her could wake Rongar (we could even assume neither Serendib nor the hunter notice him till then? :3 ). He intervenes and the hunter I guess flees (I would opt against killing him because a dead bounty hunter in Kriss' tavern... oooh, I really would not want to be the one who has to explain that to the tavern owner! Plus a living hunter would be what might come in handy for the plot I mentioned ). Then Serendib and Rongar could have a little conversation till the crew comes. I also had another shadowy idea but I think that one doesn't work. *scratches head* So yeah, that's my two cents on this. I must admit I am not exactly creative these days so it might be I can come up with more later, but for now that's pretty much it. I hope that helps already. Totally looking forward to having Serendib back in the play. Argh, and I almost forgot: Questions? Well, I can't promise I can answer all of them but I may well give it a try. ;D So yeah, go on, dear. What questions do you have?

Thank you Doubs! Well my questions are simple I suppose. I've read some topics of the game and I pretty much got everything, but what I don't get is how you name a thread and how you decide to stop it and start a new one... Where I came from, the threads are named after rooms, and when a character moves, the post ends with ex: *Goes on in - The Ship - The deck* Where the ship is the section and the deck is the thread, how do you manage these kind of practical things here?

You're welcome! =D Now, concerning the name of a thread: well, that's pretty much up to your imagination. Usually we try and find names that somehow describe what the thread will be about. The reunion thread for example got named "Crossing Blades" because it's about a fight and might well refer to the way Sinbad and Maeve will meet again. Other threads again got names that simply sounded nice - it's a bit like giving a title to a fic really. ^^ Usually it's the player who starts the thread that can decide on its name. But sometimes you might wish to brainstorm on the name together with the other participants. In any case however it's only little convenient to just name the thread after the room - that's a little unspecific and might cause trouble later. Or, if you do so give it something that distincts it from other threads that might happen to take place in the same room later on (for example: "Serendib's room 1"). The rest works pretty much as you described it: when all characters leave that room or the space the thread belongs to (e.g. move from the galley to the deck on the Nomad) the current thread gets closed and a new one gets opened in the respective area the characters move to. Also, a thread may be closed when a new time of day starts but that really depends on the ongoing action as well. So to cut it short: closing a thread depends on many things (change of location, change of scenery, change of daytime) but usually it's something that's decided on amongst the players who are part of the same. And as for the ship as the section and the deck as the thread - well, in case of the Nomad the deck is actually a section itself. ;D But I understand what you mean. As I mentioned above you would usually still choose a name rather freely. The play moves rather slowly so that it shouldn't be a problem to keep track of the active threads and their locations even if the names don't give everything way. You are always free to add some hints to the title, too, though - something like: "Watching the waves (on deck)". You see, you've got quite some freedom there. ;D

Here's my other question: As for the start, there's gonna be other character/non characters involved. Can I move them in one post or there's someone out there willing to move it for me? Let's explain better: Do I have to move the bountyhunter (I'm going for that option if it's ok to Rongar) or there's someone else willing to move it for me? Obviously if I write everthing in one post, things will get super fast and Ser will crash in Rongar's room faster than if someone else is willing to play with me, in that case stuff could get slower... I'm too precise, I know XD

You're not being too precise at all, dear. This is a very good question to the board. In general there can be said nothing against you writing it all out even though of course it will be more fast-paced this way. On the other hand you can plan on things better with writing writing the scene yourself so that might be a good thing. Of course, the fun of rp-ing is to interact with others but after all is the bounty hunter just a means of starting to rp with Rongs so that's all fine I would think. Now, as for whether anyone's willing to write him/her in: Maybe it's best to ask in the "thoughts about the story" thread as I'm not sure how many of us are following this thread here. At the moment unfortunately I cannot offer you assistance myself though that might change come December. But maybe someone else (maybe even Rongs herself? ) would be happy to write a little npc while the others threads are rather calm.

I don't mind either option! Though Serendib crashing into my bedroom would definitely wake Rongar up! LOL
