Here's the synopsis.
3. Abiding Souls, part I.
Maeve’s attempt to reach a missing Caipra sends another entity asking for the crew’s help instead. The horror they will face once they reach the land of Barah will cause a great turmoil in Maeve’s heart, as she remembers painful events and secrets from her past.

This fic will shift from a K+ or T rating to an M rating, because this story is probably one of the darkest I'll ever write. Lots happen in this episode, on different levels (which is also why I decided I would split it in two parts), and the subjects it will adress are somehow uneasy. But as I promised, it will remain tasteful.

Oooh, wow, that sounds intriguing. Good luck with writing it, dear. I'm sure it'll be brilliant.

As usual, music is my muse.
Here's the musical tease while I keep you waiting.
This is Tori Amos' ''Winter''. It is mainly about a father and daughter relationship. It's not the meaning of the lyrics in themselves that inspired me (because it is actually NOT a father-daugther relationship episode), but the atmosphere of the song and the general topic of the stages of life that inspired this fic.
There is a softness and a sorrow in the piano melody that suit every aspect of the fic, and I'm sure you'll understand why as you read it.

I'm so sorry for the delay. I will be working on my season 3 in the weeks to come. Right now I'm dying under papers and essays I have to finish by the end of the week, but right after, I wish to continue the season 3 I had to put aside in 2012, mostly due to events in my personal life.
But now, I'm back, I'm happy, I'm ready. Bwahahahaha !

Oooh I forgot I had started a topic, long ago, for this episode. I posted the story in a new one (sorry for the confusion).

It's very interesting. I daresay that it's much better than the ones you wrote last year. The opening is able to win the curiousness of the reader. The plot scares me too especially Maeve's nightmare. They're so scary. About the babes in your stories, it's so heartless someone cans kill those innocent lives. It's very sweet how you write about Maeve and Sinbad. The only thing I don't like is Maeve gave up her child at her fifteen. The first, she was too young for that. The second, I don't like the idea killing the unborn souls no matter the reason is. The third, all the wounds can be heal but the pain of killing your own child...I don't dare to think about it. However, I'm happy that Maeve finally found the peace of her soul after what she had done. It's a very good story. I hope you'll write more.

Thanks ban for your comments. Like I said in the chat topic, I'm aware that we're from different cultures, different religions, and even so, people from the same community could disagree on such a sensitive topic. I knew it could be controversial, even though it's really not the purpose of this fanfic to hurt people or their beliefs, and it is not for me to decide if it's good or wrong. I just wanted this fictionnal third season to be somehow more ''mature'' and therefore adress more mature subjects, sometimes in a humorous way (the awkward conversation the morning after XD ), sometimes with a lot of emotions involved, such as sadness and grief. I just wanted to say, I'm not done with the darkness, however you might find the rest of season 3's storyline much happier.

I understand and don't worry. What you wrote does nothing to my culture, religion or belief. When I said I don't like it is just my feeling only. I read it and felt like it hurt Maeve too much when she had to face such thing when she was still too young so I don't like it. That's all. I don't take what you wrote as something seriously which relates to belief or else. And if there is something which I see that it really doesn't match my culture I'll stop reading instead of blaming or yelling at the writer. So if I don't like your story you won't see any comment from me. Oh!!! But it's ok I'm not scared. A little darkness is also good. It makes the story be more interesting. And the pain the characters go through make the story more emotional and more mature.

Finally got around to at least reading Part I and must say, it's a really moving one. What with the baby and the nightmares on the "darker" side, but also what with Sinbad's & Maeve's, Bryn's & Maeve's, and the sorceress' & the brothers' relationship on the brighter one. I really like how Sinbad and Maeve are getting closer one step at a time, and how she is so special to him. Allowing her to decide whether she wanted to go on and whether she wanted him to stay was such a remarkable thing for him to do. And of course, to compare her to a deity... that was so lovely! Hehe, and loved how the brothers surrendered to the girls. The two women really have them wrapped around their little fingers. ^^ I'm quite shocked about the ongoing in this town though. And the entry scene was... it was really oppressing in a way. I felt so sorry for Rhea. That was awful but we all know things like that did happen and they do still happen in the world, too. Anyhow. So yeah, this is a great first part! Hope I will find time to read the second one, too, soon.
