Khei nodded. "That might work."

Thea smiled in return. She made her way across the room and opened the wardrobe. In each room she had adorned the wardrobe with the basic clothing. Cloaks included.
"Take your pick," she said.

Khei followed Thea to the wardrobe and was mildly surprised to see it fully stocked with any necessary clothing one might need. She picked a simple brown cloak that she thought would fit her needs and tried it on, folding her ears down and back as she pulled the hood over her head far enough to mask her face. She pulled the body of the cloak closed and fastened it in place, keeping her arms hidden beneath the fabric.
She turned to Thea and turned from on side to the other before speaking up. "So. How do I look? Normal enough?"

Thea smirked. "It looks like your hiding something." She waved her hands in the air, smiling. "No, in fact this will do quite well."

Khei smiled, lifting her head enough to see Thea. "Great! Now hopefully we don't run into any riffraff today."

Thea agreed. She wished for them to be on the other end of the spectrum when it came to trouble.
Thea gave a gentle smile. She could just see Khei fom under her hood. "We seem to have a habit of doing that," she said playfully.

Khei chuckled, hiding the nervous worrisome feeling in her gut. She, too wished, very much, to find themselves on the far end of trouble. She had experienced so many complications just in the last few days she had begun wondering if it was ever a good idea to have gotten on that ship in the first place.
She adjusted the clock more securely around her shoulders before giving a light nod.
"That we do. I'd like to think that we're due for a nice, quiet, smooth day... Without trouble."
She inwardly sighed and finished her thought, Somehow though, I doubt that day will be today..

Trouble. Thea grimaced. The bruises from yesterday were a reminder of where trouble can get a person.
Thea shook off her solemn mood and replaced it with a small smile. She opened Khei's door. "Now," she said, grinning. "I think it's time for us to start whatever little adventure we might have today."

Khei nodded though she thought that she'd had enough adventure since she had arrived. She shook ff all the doubts and fearful thoughts and tried to focus on doing whatever they needed to do to get her out of this mess. She hoped that maybe, just maybe, afterwords that they might never have to see that troublemaker of a man again.
"Yes. I think you're quite right."
She smiled as she exited the room, pausing outside the door to wait for Thea as well.

Thea left the room, closing it behind her. They made their way down the hallway. Thea rolled up her sleeves.
Thea took a sideways glance at Khei and thought about her bracers. Ashven was a conniving little thing. He hurt Khei, took her bracers and flew away with some cryptic comment. He had the ability to make nice people want to do some very unnice things to him.
Hopefully, Coram would have some information on those men after Ashven. The main reason she wished to go to him was to get some information and hopefully Ashven (wherever he was) would exchange the bracers for the information. But Thea thought she was going out on a limb here. Ashven was unpredictable. She could never guess his intentions or motivations.

Khei walked along, silently following Thea's lead as she seemed lost in her own thoughts. More than anything she wanted to strangle Ashven.
Like Thea, she hoped that they could be done with this game and be rid of him for good.

Eventually their made their way down to the stables. Thea managed to keep a straight face but deep down, she was drowning in her consuming thoughts. She hoped they could manage to get Khei's bracers back and return them on to their rightful home on Khei's now-bare wrists, and not be in the hands of a magical ruffian.

Khei was halfway into the stable when she felt her fur bristle. A cold wave of dread washed over her as a feint out-of-place scent caught her nose, stopping her mid step.
Not now.. please not now..
She started to turn toward Thea and motion toward the door when the door was suddenly closed. A dark figure turned away from the door and started toward them. His voice calm but demanding.
"Where is he?"

Thea flinched, scared by the sudden appearance of the stranger. Her hand unconsciously moved to her belt, resting her hand over the hilt of her knife. She concealed this movement under her cloak. She felt out of her element here and she felt her gut twist for herself and Khei.
"We don't know where "he" is," she replied. She knew who the man was referring to, it was that troublesome scoundrel. She felt a pang of fear at the man's steady gaze.
She heard a breath, one not coming from the man. She took a brief glance at their surroundings, saw nothing, but her uneasiness remained.
"Khei," Thea whispered. "I don't think he's alone."

"Ah. So they DO know him." The second voice sounded a bit higher in pitch than the first but no less threatening in tone.
Khei stifled a growl as she nodded to Thea. She had thought as much herself. The second voice had only confirmed what they had both suspected. She hoped that two would be all there was but she was fairly sure that they wouldn't be so lucky.
"As she said. we don't know where he is and we don't actually KNOW him.. In fact I'd rather have nothing to do with the street rat."
Despite her annoyance with the situation, Khei tried her best to keep her face hidden and remain inconspicuous about it.
The first stranger stepped closer, his face bathed in a narrow shaft of light shining through a gap in the wooden planks of the stable wall. His features were difficult to make out in such a thin, harsh ray of light but what captured Khei's attention more than anything was the large scar that ran across his forehead and down the right side of his face. It looked to be a mark of a man you didn't really want to ever have to cross blades with.
"I'm not in the business of caring what your personal opinions of the man are. I just want to know where he is.. and you two are going to do just that."
The man pulled a dagger from his belt and smiled a smile at the two women that made Khei's blood run cold as the man continued.
"Now.. We can do this the easy way or the hard way. The choice is yours. Ladies."
