"Well, she couldn't be worse than you," Thea said, propping herself on the edge of the table. Thea had seen Ashven's magic in action but she wondered what Khei's other being looked like and full extent of her powers were. She had seen hints of Khei's magic every now and then. And her magic was a curiousity that never wavered from Thea's mind. She had to admit she was jealous of Ashven and that he shared something with Khei that she could never share. Though Khei would gladly have nothing to do with him, judging by her glare which was the equivalent to daggers.
"Khei's twice the man--well, woman, you'll ever be. Human or not."

Ashven smiled again, returning his attention to Thea.
"I'm merely making a point that if it were not for those bits of hide there might be men who would be after her for reasons not of her making. Not everything is as it would seem."
He leaned onto the table with one hand as he gestured with the other.
"I cannot change how you feel about me. Of all the things I can do, that is something I cannot. I ask only that you allow me a place to rest for the night so that I might be able to heal these wounds. After which I will be on my way if you so chose."

Ashven staying overnight was just something she could not comprehend. But Ashven had been injured...No. Maybe. No! This was Ashven after all. And Khei would definitely rather him to be left out in the cold than be under the same roof as him. So would Thea but her internal battle waged on. She would feel rather guilty if she said no but would also would hate herself if she said yes.
She looked to Khei. "Khei, it would be only one night then we would never have to see or hear from him again. What say you?"

Khei's glare gave no sign of softening though she allowed her mind to consider what Ashven had said. There was a reason she wore her bracers. A reason they were given to her. She wasn't human and for that reason alone some would intend harm through no fault of her own. Maybe he had a point. Then again.. This WAS Ashven. she hadn't known him long but already knew enough to know he likely angered whoever was after him.
She sneered at Ashven. She didn't like the idea of him staying but he had already let himself in somehow and the odds were that he'd only let himself in again one way or another. If they let him stay, she'd have a better idea where he was which offered a small measure of comfort.
She sighed and shook her head. "I don't see what choice we have. We kick him out, he'll just let himself back in. Probably the same way he got in the first time."
She growled at Ash before finally breaking her cold glare as she turned toward the hall again. She paused, glancing back to Thea.
"Please excuse me.. My head hurts so I think it best to call it a night myself. If it will rid us of him for good then let him stay the night. It will be worth it if he keeps his word."
She directed her next comment directly at Ashven.
"If you try anything funny through the night or bring any danger into this house, Know this. I will kill you myself."
She gave Thea a polite bow before turning down the hall and heading upstairs to her room.

Ashven continued to smile as if knowing he'd have his way.
He gave Khei a polite nod as she left, unmoved by her threat.
"Moody one she is."
She smirked and gave Thea a wink.
"So what is your final word on my request?"

Thea groaned. "You can stay," she said. "But, " she added sharply, "any trouble from you, I'll let Khei deal with you."
She picked herself up from up the table. "You can take one of the spare rooms. Make your way upstairs and settle yourself."

"I swear that you will not so much as hear a breath from me."
Ash continued to smile that annoyingly smug smile of his as he bowed with more enthusiasm than really necessary. Either he was mocking Thea or he was up to something. Perhaps both.
He excused himself and disappeared up the stairs and into a vacant room without giving Thea time to reconsider.

After Ashven's quick exit, Thea grabbed one of the goblets of wine from the table and took a long sip. She needed it. She was thirsty as well she needed to relax. She slowly made her way upstairs, the wine already fiddling with her mind. She entered her room, removed her boots and collapsed on the bed. As soon as her head hit the pillow, she was asleep.
