BTW Khei, THANK YOU so much for bringing Firefly into my awareness!!! I'm like obsessed and am so crushed there are no more episodes. I NEVER SHOULD HAVE STARTED WATCHING THIS BECAUSE NOW I DON’T WANT IT TO END!!! One of my many favourite moments, best conveyed with gifs.... Mal tells Simon there's basically no hope for her. Nooooow, it's taken me ages I know, but FINALLY I, too, checked on the world of Firefly and after having watched the whole season I can't do anything but agree with you two. ;D That show's awesome! At first I wasn't too sure about it, the war-scene at the very beginning wasn't all too catchy (for me at last) but after a couple of eps I was already hooked. Great jokes, eps through which I left my meals unattended 'caus I bit my nails, great characters and an amazing overall-story line. It really is beyond me why the show got cancelled. Personally, I'd even comare it a bit to AoS 'caus the athmosphere created by the crew being one huge family AND of course Inara's and Mal's "relationship" (God, I never thought there could be anyone more HRADP than Sinbad and Maeve, well I was wrong obviously! xD ) definitely reminds me of it. So, anyway, though this is not a Firefly thread... thanx, Khei, for bringing this little goodie into our lives.  [/randomness] |

Hi everyone! May I join the club? ;D Let me tell you why. When I was doing my DL promo video, I was looking for clips for Khei (Jewel Staite). So I say, hey, let's watch the first episode of Firefly to see what I can find. And I ended up watching all the season and the movie in a week! ;D Now I can only agree with you all, girls, that show was so great! Too bad it ended so soon.
I didn't see the point at killing some main characters in the movie, but well, what's done is done.
Oh and yeah, the relationship between Inara and Mal is great, but I totally fell in love with Kaylee/Simon!!! They are so cute and funny. ;D

I didn't realize this thread was still here XP.
I know, Firefly is just one of those shows you can't help but get hooked on. I passed it up originally when it first aired cause my opinion without actually watching was "WTF? Cowboys in space? No Thanks." But I watched the film when it hit DVD and fell in love with the characters and story and had to watch the series. Then the whole western feel to the outer planets actually made sense.
There's a few comics that were made to fill in the story between the series and film. I think Serenity was mostly meant to give the fans some closure that the series wasn't given.

and Hey. Sure this' the "Beefcake and Candy" thread but I think it's safe for us to squee over anything we're fans of.
as for myself.. I cannot wait till tomorrow evening ^^ DESTINATION TRUTH RETURNS WITH A NEW SEASON!!!

I heard about the comics too.  And I'm glad that they did that movie, even if it looked a bit different from the show. But at least we have an end to the story, not like other shows that suddenly stopped without any ending. |

Wow, is it just me or does he look remotely like Ash? O.o Kinda. I think Nathan Fillion would be almost a dead ringer for Drake. From the back the character looks like Nathan lol. The game is hilarious too. Drake: What happened? Last thing I remember was beating up the butt-end of Guerro's gun with my face. or... Drake: C'mere Dante. I'll show you just how big a "pain in your ass" I can be! XP I've already been playing this game far too much. |
