Looool, Dermott did really poop on the beamer? *falls off her chair laughing* I never realized that! I hardly watch S1 in English and in our dubbing there's no adding sound either. So to me it was only like, he was taking the beamer as a perch rather than an invention that he might better not land on. But that he did actually... Oh dear! ;D ;D ;D This scene at the beginning is great. Firouz who had the care about his valuable invention, he tried to chase Dermott away and how the rest of the crew had fun from our dear scientist (Doubar's comment that the invention did not impress Dermott very much). This episode is not bad, i like it quite, but i do not like how easily Firouz was manipulated by the royal couple and his certain distance from the rest of the crew. But we can find a few nice moments among the rest of the crew.

Haha, yeah, that one was awesome. ;D
I agree with you on Firouz's part though. I, too, didn't like how he was so easily manipulated. But then again, maybe we can't blame him. He's always been in someone else's shadow, even though he's do bright and everything. So when that princess came along and treated him like the hero for once, he couldn't help but fall for it...

I understand his behavior, it must have been the golden opportunity for him to be the hero and he could implement his scientific principles to the running of the kingdom. And it is the truth that the most of the crew was fooled by someone in the both seasons. But i do not like that he was blind towards the advice of his friends and he was very too hasty in judgment, when we take to the account what was at stake, the lives of many people in the both kingdoms.

The plot of this episode was good, the good example how big power can tempted a man, even so honest how Firouz undoubtedly is. And i am not quite sure but i think that sometimes Firouz was not completely sure how position he precisely had in this crew (something similar was in Conundrum a little).
And one quite funny thing. During the first encounter with Marzacks did you notice that Maeve mysteriously disappeared somewhere during the whole fight? She was relaxing somewhere when our boys were in the middle of fight?

Yeah, that could well be - that at that time Firouz was still rather insecure about his place in the crew. Haha, and I have to admit I didn't really notice but now that you mention it... xD

Does anyone really enjoy this ep? It bugs me. I don't mind Firouz falling for the scam at first (it happens to most of the crew at one time or another, as has been mentioned), but it's when he accuses Sinbad of jealousy that he bothers me and seems out of character. That's different than just saying they disagree. To be fair though, he does not believe them traitors when he's told that. And I can understand how he could feel quite unappreciated, given how no one ever wants to listen to him when he talks about his sciency stuff. Sure, Sinbad often appreciates it in action, but whenever Firouz tries to share his enthusiasm by discussing his projects (or even just wants to explain them), he finds little in way of an audience ("mumbo jumbo", as Doubar called it). And he truly does believe a world of science would be better. Which is kind of true, given science led to germ theory and advancements in sanitation and and antibiotics and electricity and so on. Also advanced chemical weapons and really big bombs, so good and bad. But Firouz, being the kind of person he is, mostly sees the good applications.

I quite like this episode. And I agree that Firouz behaved out of a character a few times, but I am able to understand why. As Doubar said, he was always in the shadow of someone else and now he saw his big chance to bring his science into the kingdom, to prove how important science will be in the future. And both those villains pretended how much are interested in his inventions (which was truth) and that they acknowledge him as a great scientist, that they admire his talent for science, that they acknowledge his work as something important (a thing which he has not probably experienced from the side of his friends very much). And he was so exciting to prove his science as an important thing. And when his friends tried to explain to him the whole situation, he could understand their behaviour in different ways. That they underestimate him, that they do not believe in him and his ability, that they do not wish him success. And he tried to find an explanation for this and when he was upset or angry about this situation, he probably did not think about it with the completely clear head and he could easily conclude such an illogical opinion as jealousy under the influence of his mixed emotions. He would not dare think about accusing Sinbad of jealousy under normal circumstances, but he was upset here and he could really think or conclude that Sinbad who was a hero many times got used to it and he can not really stand the fact that this time the hero would be someone else.
I also though if Doubar or Maeve would be able to persuade him about truth after their return from Marzoss if they were not arrested but I am not sure. It was seen during the scene when Firouz declared the war that Rongar tries to support Sinbad in his arguments and Firouz was not noticing it at all, although we talked many times about a fact that Rongar was the closest friend of Firouz from the whole crew.
