... even though, if I remember right, she in at World's End wasn't really disguised as a man. She wore manly clothes, but everyone knew she was a woman. *loves the trilogy* But in the second part I think it was, there she disguised as a simple sailor to sail on a ship that of course would not have allowed any women to come along. And she fooled them all! ;D alex: Simply out of curiosity: do you already know whether to let her disguise fall? I mean, I was just thinking: what reason would she have to keep on the maskerade on a ship whose crew accepts women anyway? So in the end the disguise would be futile after a rather short amount of time anyway... unless she has other reasons for keeping it up of course (like if she was hiding from anyone).

@doubar I KNEW IT! lol I kept saying that it sounded like her! and yeah I don't remember what all happened in PotC 2 vs PotC 3 the whole thing is a bit of a blur to me lol.
I thought the same thing tho.. that she'd be another good possibility. I just couldn't remember her name.. nor the character's name. Just that she was pissed at Jack for "Borrowing" her ship lol
on another note.. she COULD start out by running into Ashven or something.. I have ideas floating about in my head but it's all groggy ause it's 3am here and my brain is finally starting to shut down for the night.. or morning rather.. or something..
Um.. don't mind me.. I'm just blithering now lol.

Khei: Lol! Yeah, I, too, have problems sometimes with deviding the events of part2 and 3. The whole "everyone's fooling each other* makes it a bit hard to follow the line. Furthermore the two parts were shot together and the plot of part2 directly continues in part3... which makes it quite hard to remember where exactly did what happen. xD Well, and hehe, I didn't know the name and character either. But wikipedia (which has become one of my best friends during my studies ;D ) knows the answer the (almost) everything. I merely googled for the cast there and tadaa - there she was. ;D Oh, and you're totally right: she was soooo pissed at Jack. Loved that scene. ;D Running into Ashven you say? Hmm... sounds not bad from my point of view (but in the end it of course depends on Bryn and what she wants to do ). Would make for a good reason to bring both of them into the play. Heh, I'd say: go and have a good night's sleep and tomorrow you can present your idea to us. And then we'll see. Nighty, Khei. alex:Ya know, honey, I don't know how you want Zahra to be like, but if you went for the self-conscious type you'd also have the advantage that most likely she'd be around with the guys more than with Bryn maybe. This shall not mean that the two have to dislike each other - no, definitely not - but in general calm poeple like Bryn and rather extroverted ones like Anamaria don't stick together all the time because they differ too much in their nature. So advantage there would be one: you could try out a completely new type of personality and two: would Bryn and her have rather limited contact with each other anyway. Only point about such a self-conscious character is that we'll have to see how it fits into the crew's dynamic as till now Maeve's the only fire-brand on board. But that's something that would be solved through playing anyway I think.

Yeah, there is a good possibility there! To make her meet her with someone else before she meets the crew...

Having Bryn's new character meet someone else first sounds good! It might make it more interesting and give her more RPG than simply interacting with the crew. Now, I'm not to sure how the future plans for Maeve/Rumina/Bryn/Turok/Scratch war thing will go, but generally the main crew does the fighting with guest starring OCs, right? Perhaps this 2nd character could be someone from somewhere who simply has a problem with the villians? And then in the end, can join the crew if 3-4 women on board won't cause problems??? ************************* Here's Djaq a bit more male-like than the other pics...from the start of season one of Robin Hood when she really was acting like she was a he.

OK, I have been looking around a bit for actresses and all I have found is Mia Maestro from Crusoe. Mia playing Olivia but I can't seem to find any images of her playing "Oliver".

@thea: Wow, I liked this actress, too. I think I'm gonna play her. thank you so much for the effort, dear you helped a lot. her tanned skin will just fit Zahra's Arabian assets. @all: I'm so grateful for your suggestions and help. I'm so sorry I opened the thread and then didn't follow it 'cause I can't log in these days a lot. But about making Zahra stumble across someone before meeting the crew I agree on this one, too. Just who will they be? I agree, too that she will be a man for while. About the reason for that I'm still thinking but I didn't come up with something. Have some busy time. But soon I will come again and I hope with some ideas for her.

@thea: Aw, that's a great idea. I haven't watched that film though but telling from the picture on the right she seems to be a rather nice person.

@doubar She is really nice--add some fiestiness and you have Olivia *EDIT* alexI had look around and found there is a lack of photos of Olivia in Crusoe, so if you going to go with Mia you could try the Long Ago's screen capture gallery. They've only gotten the first three episodes done but there's still some of Olivia. This is just if you want an option of photos. longagocaptures.org/gallery/index.php?cat=104For meeting up with someone, Khei has offered Ashven, and, with Khei's say-so, you could probably meet up with Khei and Anthea along the way as well--just a thought, until there is time you could become apart of the crew. It's all up to you. As for the reason she should stay as her male persona, at the moment all I can think of is that she enjoys the freedom of being in a male disguise brings, or she stays in disguise because she is afraid her uncle might find out about her whereabouts, or she won't tell the crew because she doesn't trust easily or all those things combined.

@thea: Great ideas. well, I was thinking more about her uncle but what will make her feel like that while her uncle won't be around? I think I might add-if that's okay- that there was one of the crew members that she knows him as he was one from their neighborhood or something. so she didn't know that, before meeting the crew but after meeting the crew and going on board the ship with them she will see him and recognize him. so she might be afraid that he would know about her true identity and tell her uncle and preferred to disguise as a man for a while till what days could bring to her. that, too will make her feel free at working. As for Ashven, thea and khei, that's great. 'cause at least if the two girls will meet with the crew, then that would make a more relating point. But, Well, do you think they know her as a girl or as she disguises as a boy?

alex: Hm, only problem about Zahra knowing a member of the crew would be that we have no other member that's being played out. But in fact I think for such a plot we would need the member in question - at least as a npc I guess. And well, if I might voice my thoughts about this: I would guess that Khei and Thea would get to know her as Dahab, since I assume Zahara would be sailing as the same. Also, if you want her to hide from her uncle and be rather cautious until she feels she can trust someone, it would just be logical for her to introduce herself to them as Dahab. Then, later, she could let her disguise fall. But that of course is up to you. Hum, and what if her uncle was a merchant? This way he'd get to meet many poeple - and especially sailors. And knowing about Zahra's love for the sea, he would of course ask them all whether they have met someone like her or he may have even a few captain friends who would agree to look out for her. And since Zahra is well aware of that, she disguises as a man on each ship she signs on. Plus, well, ya know, the Nomad for sure was one of only a handful of ships where women did their duty like any regular sailor. She for sure would have had many troubles becoming a sailor as a woman hence why she always pretends to be a man.

I read all you wrote about this new character for Bryn. First of all, I wanted to say that I like this idea and I also thought about Keira knightley to play her. But I like Mia Maestro a lot. She played in a movie that I love called "Poseidon" (a ship overturned because of a tidal wave) but it's not an period movie. Well, it was just to say that I like this actress. ;D Can't wait to see Zahra in action.
