Continued from "Inside under the Crown of Ogotay" distandlands.proboards.com/index.....ead=205&page=14Caipra entered the room when Sinbad lowered Bryn on the bed. Everyone was there. Rongar and Firouz were already waiting in the room. Even Dermott had joined them. The hawk had been so quiet since they had entered the tavern, that Caipra had almost forgotten his presence. She exchanged a brief glance with the hawk. She felt his concern for Bryn. Had he felt her magic magic some time ago? She didn't know.. Caipra sat on the edge of the bed and touched the forehead of Bryn. Her fever was a little down, but she still didn't seemed to regain consciousness. She looked up and saw Sinbad in front of her, kneeling down on the other side of the bed. Doubar stood behind him. She turned her head toward her right and saw Firouz and Rongar who had come closer. They fixed all the young sorceress when she suddenly gave a little groan, but she still didn't wake up. The old sorceress decided to wait until she wakes up. She had to have a conversation with Bryn to understand what happened. But for that, she had to be alone. "All right everyone, get out of this room. Bryn needs rest and believe me, it's not staying here that you'll find yourself useful. I'll warn you if she wakes up."

Rongar opened his mouth to protest, even though only sounds would emerge from his tongueless throat, when his brain caught up with him.
Bryn was unwell.
Be it from illness or magic, he didn't know.
He was niether a Healer nor a Mage; he couldn't do anything really to help in either case.
He'd be in Caipra's way, who was skilled in both healing and magic.
He sighed and nodded as he moved towards the room's door.
He glanced back at the others patiently; he knew they'd need more encouragment from Caipra beore they budged.

"Caipra! With all due respect, I really think I should examine her too!" protested the curly haired man.

Doubar heard the wise sorceress' words; he saw the knowledge in her eyes and yet he didn't feel comfortable about what she asked the crew to do. When Bryn let out a quiet moan, the big man's eyes darted into her direction but they didn't meet anything but the still form of their brunette friend. Still he wondered just what might have caused her current state and with recalling this strange warning Dermott had given them earlier this day, he started to get the odd feeling that there was more about all this ... and that trouble was lying ahead of all of them. But before Doubar could follow this train of thoughts any further, he suddenly felt his head turn into Firouz' direction, as he heard the scientist speak up. The first mate could clearly feel with him as he, too, wanted to do something and help their friend. But unlike the curly haired man, Doubar knew nothing about medecine and unlike Caipra, he knew nothing about magic either. So even though he didn't like the idea of simply leaving as well, the big man remained silent and instead waited for what the elder sorceress would reply to Firouz' demand.

Even though he seldomly had to insist on his authority as a captain, Sinbad didn´t really like the idea of being given orders - not in such a situation when it was about a member of a crew. But he was also someone who knew his limits. There were a few people who he usually didn´t oppos because of the respect he had for them. One of these people was Dim Dim and even though he had not met her that often, Caipra seemed to fall into the same category of people. She seemed to emanate an aura of wisdom and knowledge he didn´t have to put much against. Still he hesitated for a moment, opening his mouth to speak, but Firouz beat him to it.

Rongar sighed silently and shook his head at his friends stubbornness, but remained quite.
Caipra could deal would deal with them.

Caipra saw Firouz approaching to offer his assistance. When he came near her, she put her hand on the belly of the scientist to stop him. She then noticed that the others had not moved, except Rongar who had finally decided to await the reaction of the crew. Bryn's friends did not intend to move, the sorceress felt it. Yet they had to. Caipra wanted to know what had happened to Bryn in the streets, and there were surely certain things that should rather not be revealed to the crew. But how to tell them. Caipra was never severe with the people she loves. Her husband was, but he always talked with tact, and no one ever discussed his orders. But DimDim was not here and that left her no choice. She took a deep breath and said to everyone, in a calm but firm voice. "I know you want to help and I can understand this wish of yours, but believe me...this time you can't." She withdrew her hand from Firouz, watched all of them one by one , and stopped on Sinbad. "Now go."

Rongar nodded.
Firouz sighed; she was right.
He might be knowledgeable about certain things, but it still bothered him that he could not be of any help.
Caipra's hand on his stomach only emphasized her point.
There was a boundary he would never be able to cross, Caipra has crossed it and knew how to treat her.
Firouz sighed, withdrew, and said, "Very well, Caipra..."
He ended up by Rongar's side and waited for the others to join them as they inched their way out the door.

Doubar shared a short glance with his brother. He knew that what Caipra had said was true, and the way the wise Lady had eyed the crew just a few moments ago had proven just how serious she was about that one. Silently the first mate nodded at Caipra and with sending one last worried look to Bryn, he finally moved to follow his two friends who were already standing near the door.

The captain met his brother´s eyes, coming to the conclusion that Caipra wouldn´t allow an argument right now. He gave a short nod. "All right." he said, tossing another glance at the unconscious brunette. "Let us wait outside then." And he turned to step outside the room.

Caipra watched the men leaving the room and muttered a "'Thank you"they didn't hear. When they were all out of the room, the old sorceress made a slight movement of the hand and the door closed itself. She turned to Bryn beside which she was still sitting and waited for the young lady to wake up.

Dark.........every thing surrounding her totally sank in darkness. Bryn gradually and slowly began to gain her consciousness, though she preferred to keep her eyes closed. a merciless headache was enjoying torturing every neuron of her brain. she tried to calm down. to figure out what was going on around her. where she was, why she was lying on a bed.
the last thing she could remember was her mates' faces looking at her with a strange expression coloring their gazes. "why was that ?" she thought .the memory of her mates' anxious glare appeared to her as a weird distant dream .
suddenly her mind recall the face of the old woman "Caipra".it recalled the glare of the old sorceress when she looked at Bryn with a strange mixture of fear, sympathy and knowledge. "but why was all of that?" she asked herself again feeling more puzzled.
unlike what she expected , the answer jumped to her mind quickly . a shiver crawled on her back when she recalled horrible experience she faced few hours ago. the parts of the puzzle came together. a flood of memories hit her mind vigorously as she remembered the little boy,...the gang,... the chasing, the fight...a flash memory of the little boy was about to beheaded, then .....Screams...she still hear fearful screams echoed all over her.
she felt herself began to lose control. her breath began to tremble and her body began to shake again. she could sense the salty taste of her sweet drops rolling over her cheek , in her mouth. Finally a frightened gasp escaped her lips as her eyes opened quickly hoping to escape this haunting memory.

Bryn's body suddenly began to shake after a few minutes. Even if she was lying on the bed, she acted like she was trying to escape something. "Bryn? Bryn?" said Caipra hoping the young sorceress would hear her and wake up. She took Bryn's hand when she opened her eyes with a gasp. "shhh, calm down dear, everything's okay." She said touching Bryn's face. "You're safe now." The face of the young girl was wet as if she had just run for hours. Caipra catched a cloth and applied it on her forehead. Bryn seemed to be so afraid, as she was when they found her outside the tavern. Whatever had happened in the streets that night, Bryn seemed so shocked that she would not recover easily from that, the old sorceress could sense it. As she didn't want to frighten her more, she decided to wait for the girl to regain her senses.

Bryn managed to capture small quick breaths while looking at the kind worried eyes of the old woman scanning her face . the voice of the sorceress calling her name pulled her violently to the real life. she felt the wetness and coldness of the piece of cloth over her feverish forehead and shivered. she tried to adjust her sitting and raised her upper limb to change her position from sleeping to sitting. she gulped and felt her throat very dry. she looked at the direction of caipra and said with a still dizzy mind "I'm thirsty...."

Caipra watched Bryn rising slowly. She was reassured when she heard that she was thirsty. To hear the young girl talk was already a good sign. The old sorceress remembered having seen while entering the room, a glass of water and a fruit bowl on the table. Someone must have put it here, in the way of welcome, knowing that the room would soon be occupied. *Kriss always think of the comfort of her customers*, said Caipra to herself. She got up, fetched the glass of water and handed it to Bryn. "Here, drink this. I'm sorry, I have only water to propose you." Caipra said smiling, trying to relax the atmosphere. While Bryn was drinking her glass, Caipra grabbed a chair and sat down beside the bed. "How do you feel? You know, you gave us a good fright when you fainted."
