I stayed up a little longer today so I could post this: :-) It´s been exactly a year since I registered this forum and I just wanted to take our first anniversary as a chance to say thanks to you all. Back then when I created this place, thinking that there had to be an rpg game for the show, I was wondering whether it would even be noticed. I had no idea whether there would be more than just a fan or two occasionally trotting by, but it turned out there were a whole lot of great people out there sharing my love for this nice little show who eventually found their way here. To all of you guys, thanks, thanks so much for making this forum such a nice and lively and creative place. Things wouldn´t work without you and I am glad for each and every one of you to be here. Thanks for a wonderful year and let there be many more anniversaries. ;-) Happy Birthday, Distant Lands.

Thanks to you for creating this place! Of course I love the show, but I also find it interesting to share with people all around the world. I still can't get over the fact that the show got cancelled. It is an unfinished story. Here we can all see that the rest is ours to imagine! Thank you!

Hehe, first when I saw this before even reading the message/post/description , I said WTF!!!!!!!!!! ;D But by Allah, it wasn't what I thought and just an anniversary of the board. ;D Well, hehe, thanks to the extensive advertising, we did spend quite awhile discussing it , the board got noticed, and expanded, and expanded. But yes, I saw this place as a way where I can finish this neverended story that has been dawning on me so long. And unlike a fanfiction, I can play a role but still don't know where it will end. So thank you Nili. Thank you all.

Wheeeee. Our first anniversary. ;D Now, to say a few words: Thank you Nili, for creating this wonderful place. When I first contacted you about the rpg-forum you wanted to create, I thought: "sounds like fun". When I registered here, I thought: "nice place, a little quiet but okay". When the first members joined I was like: "hey cool, the Double Trouble rules". But with every month that passed this place became much more than just a simple forum. I was reluctant at first to call any of you "friend" 'caus we were strangers - people from different countries, and continents even, who knew nothing about each other asides from the fact that we love that show. Now, looking on what this forum has become, I have to say: "Wow! This is more than I would have ever imagined it to be." And I am happy to be able to say: I did find friends here. So, this is not only to the board itself but to all its members as well: Thank you for being who we are! Thank you for devoting part of your free time to this forum! And thank you for dreaming this little dream together!

The credit goes to Nili, of course, for creating this place, & also to all the members who visited & wrote, created threads & discussions, & games & shared things, thanks to all of these wonderful people for making this board so lively & fun! & of course to Ed Naha for creating AOS, which we share as the source of our mutual interest & passion! Happy Birthday, Distant lands!! We love you!

i know i am too late in replying to this thread although i read it at day . i wanna said that whatever words i will write will not express what in my heart to this forum, although i am logged in just three months ago. i did not use to participate in forums even in the ones by my own Lang. and i hesitated a lot to log in here too but after spending a while in discovering the forum and reading the members posts i decided to log in just to put this forum in my notes and log in here from time to time.but after reading your warm welcomes for me in welcome chat , i got surprised . that was not totally what i expected and i believed that this forum is no way like the other forums and my belief increases day after day when i log in to other forums. my own problem is that i did not have the full ability to express what in my heart happy birthday "distant Lands " and Thanks nili. .but wait my inner Bryn told me about something happened today when there was no one in the board. The real crew were talking about us. you did not believe me ? just click on this link
www.swfme.com/view/1260722 and you will see. And nili beware about what is going on in your forum when there is no one here.

Happy birthday Distant Lands!!!*is a little sad 'cause she sees the thread only now…* Oh my. Time moves so quickly…I can't believe it’s been a year already, give or take, since I met you all, fellow crewmates! First of all -- Thank you so much Nili for creating this lovely board. You shaped the heart of the friendly bonded community that we have now become. Thank you.*sighs* I’m lacking a little bit of vocabulary this morning but I’ll do my best to express how I feel towards the family I have found here, so...bear with me… A year ago, around the end of my first semester in College, I felt like I was kind of losing my footing in life. I honestly didn’t know where I was heading anymore, havin’ been thrown into the real world of College in a nerve-racking-life-draining crazy program…I had a hard time coping with everything that was going on around me. I felt lost. I felt like my whole life was going forward but I was stubbornly lagging behind, pulling at time itself with all my might to slow things down. It’s hard to describe but, I felt like I didn’t have any control over anything anymore. I hope you never have to experience that… Throughout the whole Holidays, I must admit I battled depression restlessly. Riding horses, even though they all knew something was wrong with me, was the only thing that kept me on the verge of sanity. The new semester was about to begin and I was not looking forward to it at all. Apprehension is a nasty little feeling, let me tell you… Then, a lovely surprise. On January 10th, I stumbled across a rpg board called Distant Lands. I had no idea what a rpg board was supposed to be, but it triggered my curiosity nonetheless. I had always been a faithful lurker around the AOS online fandom, but I had never ever taken a real active part in it. But something about this board got to me….and so I logged in as the third official member of the place. Best thing that could have happened to me.Nili, your board yanked me out of the dark place I was slowly falling into. It lit up the burnt out fire in me. Distant Lands has taught me so much, about life, about the world, about myself. I made the most wonderful of friends, always there when I need them, and above all things, I found a family. From the bottom of my heart, everyone, Doubar, Kriss, Dermott, Caipra, Firouz/Rongar, Bryn, Talya, Modestus, and all the others, thank you for being who you are. And Nili, once again, thank you for creating this warm welcoming gathering place.I love you guys! I love you all very much! *sends flying kisses to everybody* May Distant Lands live on forever! Evangeline xxx ------ Oh man! That was a long post… alex: That was so cooooool, honey! A smile curved my lips the whole time while flipping the pages! Really great gift!

I just wanted to add to my above post that I am very touched and moved by all the kind things you guys have written on here. I really love what kind of a community we have here. It´s a rare thing to find a group of people as nice, lovely and caring on an online forum and I am so glad all of you joined. This place wouldn´t be possible without your participation, suggestions and everything you bring in. I haven´t regretted creating this place even for a single day.
