Summary:
Sinbad and crew witness a flaming object in the skies, as it streaks over their ship and crashes into a mountainside near a coastal village. They go ashore to investigate, where they find themselves fighting the villagers who believe Sinbad and crew to be demons unleashed by the crash. Mayor Jefscut tells his constituents they are merely human visitors.
The village priest Ruane and his followers go to investigate the crash site and find a strange craft. When the villagers attempt to attack the craft, many men are vaporized by a beam of light. Ruane races back to the village to confront Sinbad, who decides to investigate the site for himself. Sinbad sets off with Firouz, who mysteriously disappears in the forest, leaving only his amulet behind. Sinbad heads back to his ship to bring more of his crew ashore, only to have his longboat destroyed by rays from the sky.
Sinbad swims ashore, while back at the village Doubar spots Firouz. Doubar follows Firouz into the forest. When Sinbad returns to the village, he begins organizing a search party, as many villagers seem to be missing along with Firouz. Just then Firouz and Doubar return. Both Sinbad and Bryn sense that Firouz and Doubar are not "right", and may be imposters. As the search party heads out, Rongar slips off with Firouz and Doubar
Sinbad's search group reaches the crash site, where Sinbad is startled to see Rongar, Firouz and Doubar in and around the craft. Even more startling, Rongar speaks to Sinbad, warning him to stay away from the craft or it will self destruct and kill them all. Sinbad and Bryn must reclaim their trusted crew members from strange grip of the alien craft without destroying themselves and the lives of a whole village.
