Mala blinked as the red shimmer of flickering flames danced across her face and the walls opposite from her. Darkness was surrounding her again and the constant heat coming from the ground made her feel dizzy for only the tiniest of moments. Only slowly then she moved forwards. The smell of sulfur was lying heavily in the air and flies were crossing her path, flying through her without even the slightest efford. "So he did escape". It was a low whisper that left the young women's mouth as she realized what had happened. She knew the devil was close by; felt his presence in every dead stone that lay on the ground beneath her feet. And she knew he would notice her arrival. Though having been able to free herself from the depths he had sought to imprison her in, she knew that in some way she would always be bound by him. He would know she was here. She only had to wait…

Sitting idly on his throne, Scratch still remembered the day when Sinbad eluded his campaign one again. He was close, so close, to fully corrupting the sailor's soul, and waited day after day for Sinbad's attitude to change from noble and kind to impetuous and barbaric. All his plans were spoiled by his mother Mala, the woman who's life Scratch robbed so many years ago. He felt her presence intrude upon his hellish lair, and she was the last person he wanted to talk to. Despite his blatant groans, Scratch let Mala enter and toned down the flames for her to walk by, since she is already deceased.
"Well well, look what the saint dragged in. Can't get enough of gloating that your sea-dog of a son is pure of heart?" frowned Scratch upon seeing the beautiful Mala stand before his throne.

“He has never been yours”, the young woman calmly answered, half-ignoring the devil’s words with that, while finally she got to stand right before his throne. She had noticed with satisfaction that the demon had lowered the flames for her earlier, knowing exactly that he had to let her enter no matter how much he would have liked not to.

"Never mine? Bah, to hell with destiny!" laughed out Scratch. His snide expression slowly reverted back to the usual sulky frown he wore, when Mala arrived uninvited to his domain.
"You need to know when to make sacrifices, sea-harlot. Your son is growing up, and obviously needs to know to tread on his path, as -I- see fit! But my question is, why are you here?! Are you also planning to lock me up in the bottom of the ocean again?!" The devil shivered at that prospect.
"You have no idea how much I had to eat seaweed for food! And talk to those stupid octopuses! Well, not anymore! I am already precautions to any tricks you will play on me!" he laughed madly once more.

Calm and patient Mala stood in front of the demon, listening to his words but not showing any emotion. "You know that I cannot do this again, even if I wish to", she finally admitted with a neutral voice, lifting her gaze to meet the devil's. She was well-aware of the truth that lay in her words. The depths of the sea were the territory of other forms of existance and she had already acted against their rules once by sending him down there. They wouldn't accept a second try. "If I had the power you would not be sitting there." More the young woman didn't say. Instead she let her words linger between her and him, trying to not betray the reason for entering his realm too soon.

"Good to know that you won't be putting me in an uncomfortable crib for long." Scratch sneered. "If you have nothing else to say here, then get out, and never come back to my domain! The sight of your face makes me sick to my stomach!" shouted Scratch. ((OOC: Having a headache now, so sorry if the post seems short and not-so-adequate ^^ )

Almost unnoticably Mala raised an eyebrow at the devil's sudden outburst. It was way too obvious that he hated her being here - just the more since he couldn't make her go. He was doomed to accept her presence just like she was to see him walk upon this world, bringing all those in danger who she loved. "You still can't use your powers up there", she finally stated after holding her tongue for a while, hoping to provoke any reaction from the demon. The young woman knew exactly that with this she was completely ignoring what he had said but to her it seemed to be the best way to get some of the information she seeked.

"Why the hell not? I see no reason to be restrained by a measly woman like you" spat Scratch and with his temper flaring, the fires beside his throne began to violently resonate, and blaze up.
"I am giving you a count of three, and if you fail to comply, there will be hell for you! One...." he raised up one of his dirty hands.
"Two....." his palm began to glow a flameish aura.

Mala shook her head slightly as she saw the devil threaten her. He really should know better. “I have already been through hell, Scratch”, she stated with more verity than she had intended to. Her gaze was transfixed on the dark Lord while short after she spoke on with a firm voice: “ There’s nothing you can do to me.” For a moment then she simply held his flaring glare, waiting for what he would do.

Before Scratch could say "Three", the flame on his hand died, and he stopped to consider for a moment. Was Mala here to really bug him for no reason, or was there a purpose she was here. It certainly wasn't to permit Scratch in claiming her alive and well son, and he poised to ask Mala the question before deciding on incinerating her.
"Before I condemn you once again, I will be asking nicely, for once. Why are you here?" his voice lacked the joking tone, and instead was a rigid and serious one. If Mala dallyed in her response one more time, Scratch made sure to show no mercy to the woman who insisted on dwelling in a trap.

Mala felt her body tense at the words Scratch spoke. She knew that he was not joking about what he said; knew that despite everything he could still wound her immortal soul and leave her weak and defenseless. A fight between her and him was inevitable – but time for this had not come yet. Like so many other things she knew that were to happen someday, this one had to wait. She had to give him the answer.
“Darkness is rising”, the young woman eventually spoke what was neither the full truth nor a lie either. She hadn’t moved an inch by then and her blue eyes were still lying on the demon, piercing him with their clear gaze.

"That's news to me." Scratch replied sarcastically, already proud of whatever plans he was to cook against the forces of good. This planning however, bugged him very much. He was at a mastermind's block, and could not think of any new plans to launch against his enemies. All the previous ideas were old and done to him, ike poisoning the seas, leaving one to rot while robbing their shadows, and even shape-shifting as an emissary to cause a rift in the group. This stagnant state left the demon muddled and Mala's presence greatly contributed in his worsening mood.
"If Turok and his wench of a daughter plans to rule all of the east, I will see to it that the credit will go firstly to me. I, afterall, gave the witch's powers an upgrade, so to speak."

„Turok!?“ That name left Mala’s mouth as a silent whisper. Bewilderedly she looked at the demon, trying to sort in that name but finally getting to the point that she had never heard it before. Knowing however that Scratch was still watching her, she quickly regained her composure, taking on a more neutral look once again. She knew she had to find out more about that man whose name she had just heard for the first time. And about his daughter; had to find out whether those were the ones whose magic she had felt.
“So you gave her a little of those fiery sparks of hell?”, she finally asked calmly, knowing already that this most likely was what he had done. After all she often enough had seen him act to know him by now. But what really lay behind this question was the hope of getting him to tell her more: more about those she didn’t know.

Scratch snorted when he saw Mala get shocked at hearing Turok's name.
"If you want to know, you gotta ask her, m'dear." he continued to cryptically answer Mala's question, and his evil grin began to be more apparant than ever.

At his answer Mala let her shoulders sink unnoticeably. Obviously the demon knew her just as well as she knew him. “I needn’t”, the young woman finally said, shrugging slightly. She was fairly sure Scratch had given the daughter of thatTurok a hellish spark. After all it explained just why her thoughts had gone to the demon when she had felt that strange magical trace between all the others earlier. “But I wonder what interest the devil would have in a mortal girl”, she soon after spoke on, laying her piercing gaze on the demon once more. It was another attempt to get some information from him. The chance was low, she knew, he would grant her that but maybe his own proud would get the better of him. Maybe he would give away only the slightest hint…
